Met daughter for late breakfast. Decided to give this a try. I ordered eggs benedict . Hollandaise sauce tasted like lemon juice, bread was dried out, eggs were hard boiled. My daughter ordered a hash bowl and poached eggs. Eggs were hard boiled. I flagged waitor down and told him they were supposed to be poached and he seemed like he had no clue as to what that meant but would get us more eggs. After 10 to 15 min our somewhat poached eggs came out. He came by only to ask if they brought out eggs. Churros were rubbery. He nor the cashier offered to take any off. Was a total total waste of 40.00. I think fast food which I never eat could have beat the food. read more

The food is always fresh and tasty and the menu varies so there are always new items to try. I'm a shrimp and Grits fan but that's one meal of theirs I cannot recommend. Too much andouille sausage and the grits don't come up to my Southern standard. Other than that, I'd recommend most dishes--especially the breakfast sandwich and the BLT Benedict--favorites! read more

The service by Zay was fabulous but the food was served cold (eggs,waffle, grits and sausage). I sent it back and all the cook did was heat my eggs, busted a yolk, and sent it back out. The grits had my finger hole in it so I know it wasn't fresh. I'm extremely disappointed in this. Don't know if I'll ever come back! read more

I've tried First Watch several times and have decided my most recent visit will be my last. My sister and I went for breakfast on a Tuesday morning. We were seated immediately and offered beverages. After placing our orders, we waited 30-40 minutes for our meal, with no acknowledgment of the wait time. When our breakfast was served, my scrambled eggs were cold. My toast was not warm enough to melt the butter. The other items (potatoes, bacon) were fine. However everything was slightly over seasoned. The potatoes were very peppery, bacon didn't quite taste like bacon. My sister's eggs were also cold and her waffle was all crisp and no fluffy insides. It was not burned, but not cake-y. Breakfast for two, with tip, was $40, which seemed high. Our waitress asked if we wanted a box, acknowledging we didn't eat much. Perhaps I should've told her about the cold eggs, but at that point we had been there 2 hours and I just wanted to leave. read more

Love the food ! Have great breakfast fare. The service , though always super busy, is always friendly and prompt. It's busy and a tad more expensive than other breakfast places but they offer a variety of dishes from simple to more extravagant. I wouldn't go here every day. But for an "extra oomph" on a weekend you can't beat it. read more

Literally no service... Tried to take my young son their for a special breakfast before school. Was sat promptly but then after almost 15 minutes had to walk out because no one served us. Multiple servers were hanging out in the back in plain sight but never came out of the kitchen. Called to speak with the manager and they didn't really seem to care. read more

I tried First Watch for the first time via DoorDash. The food arrived still warm and packed very well with a seal on the bag so you know it hadn't been tampered with. The morning Morning Meditation drink was so yummy! The bacon and chicken sausage were both delicious. I loved the cheese grits too! Blueberry pancake really hit the spot and was not soggy at all. Was so good. It was a cute little restaurant and had a great amount of choices to pick from for breakfast. I had the Belgium waffle and it came with butter and some berry jam. The syrup was nice and fresh. Our waitress was sweet and wasn't annoying but checked up on us right when we needed her it seemed. I would recommend this to every one. read more

WATCH OUT! (And be prepared to "use the bathrooms at Jimmy Johns"!) Calling ahead or waitlisting is pointless meaning arriving at 11:10 am is when you are actually put on the wait list. We were told 30 minutes maximum wait time, after an hour + we were finally seated. I had to leave and go to the car at 1:10 still NO SERVICE coffee pots were dry and toilet/water were overflowing. "Use the bathrooms at Jimmy Johns" We were a part of 9 with 3 members between 1 and 9years old. Clearly UBER EATS AND DOOR DASH take priority! $133.00 spent on cold semi cooked food! So to start off they opened the door for us as we walked up and we were sat immediately. The staff was super friendly and well trained. The place was very clean with a new age atmosphere. The plates, glasses, and serving dishes had neat designs. Such as an old style milk bottle to refill your drinks with, no ice but that's been more common lately and it fit the atmosphere. It worked well. Pretty much everything was great until we got the food. We ordered the two classic dishes they had featured on their menu 'the traditional' and 'the trifecta' but when we got them we were not happy with the quality for the price. I don't really know where to start but I was happy with the waffle, the bacon was underdone, the potatoes were cold but also soft as if they were old or frozen, the eggs were average, the grits were swimming in butter inedible, the sausage link was ok but I was surprised that there was only one considering it was the size of the normal little jimmy dean sausages and the standard for breakfast places is serving two but I need to watch my weight anyway. To sum up the atmosphere and service are very good, the food costs are above what you'd expect but you're paying for that above average dining experience. read more

I have been to the original First Watch in Palm harbor , Florida many times and it was always amazing. I have been to the one in Knoxville once and it was good too. But I have never been treated like I was in Asheville, my home town of all places. First of all the food was OK and the service was OK, but nothing to rave about on either front. Definitely NOT the quality I am used to for First Watch. My real issue thought, is that all the guests are profiled by the manager upon seating. The "desirables" are all seated in the front of the restaurant in window seats etc. My wife told the greeter/ manager that it was my birthday and asked if we could have a good table to celebrate my birthday breakfast. We were promptly seated in the back of the restaurant, directly in front of the kitchen. The restaurant was at half capacity at that point with plenty of seating throughout. I was a little disappointed but did not say anything because I am not a complainer. Then as the other customers were seated around us I began to see a pattern. First was a mother and her teenage son in dressed tee shirts and jeans, Then three biker looking three guys with beards and tattoos. Then a couple of casually dressed young women that were extremely overweight, Next a black couple. Maybe coincidence I thought, so I did a quick walk around to see who was seated at the front of the house. There were no tee shirts in the front, no tattoos, no jeans....Only well dressed white people on their way to church or sporty types in polos and bermuda shorts that looked like they just hopped off a yacht. At that point I realized I had been judged by my appearance and not deemed good enough for a decent table. I have never felt like that before, now I see what many people go through every day and it made me feel terrible. I do not think this is a systemic policy throughout all First Watch's but it is definitely the policy of the manger with the Pee Wee Herman haircut. He was doing ALL the seating that Sunday morning. This is Asheville for God's sake, if there is one place in the world I did not expect to be profiled it was in my backyard. I will never go back there, and probably never go to a First Watch again just in case it is a franchise-wide policy...I'm done with them. read more

I was there on June 17 for breakfast with a group of 7. I had one of their Eggs Benedict and it was fine, although the eggs were over cooked. I did enjoy the cheese grits I had on the side. Most others in the group had the traditional breakfast. I heard that the potatoes were hard and the scrambled egg portions were tiny, as well as poorly cooked. Just hard and flat. My sister went several days later (I had not mentioned my visit to her) and she specifically texted me to tell me the scrambled eggs look like someone started a fried egg and then halfway through decided it should be scrambled. If you have a breakfast place, your eggs HAVE to be on point. Especially for the price. For three people, with coffee and breakfast--no specialty drinks or alcohol--the bill was just over $50. The service was fine, although we got the impression our server wanted to turn the table. Inside the building, the ambient volume is loud which is problematic for the oldsters in my fam, but they do have lots of outside seating that would be quieter. My family does a monthly Saturday breakfast and First Watch is centrally located for most of us, but we're unlikely to go back. read more

Me and my husband were absolutely thrilled to eat at first Watch for Father's Day Jim was tickled to delight that his bacon was just as he asked..he's picky. My waffles were an exquisite accompaniment to my perfect cup of coffee. The best thing about all of everything was our server the delightful and informative Kelsie Rothwell. Came to visit from out of town. Was between this place in Asheville NC and another but when we got there, it was a lovely atmosphere. Great service by our server named Kelsie and she was fast and accurate. Loved that they had so many vegetarian options and non dairy creamer. We waited over 30 minutes for a fairly easy order for breakfast. My friend ordered her eggs over easy but cooked. They looked like scrambled eggs. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Florentine which was the worst I have ever had. First the eggs were well done like they were hard boiled eggs not poached. The spinach was raw and not at all cooked. The sauce had no taste. The only good thing about this breakfast was the bloody mary. If we had not waited over 30 minutes for our food, I would have sent them back but since we were starving, we ate this very ill prepared food. read more

It was not at all crowed on a Monday morning. We were seated right away and the waiter was very prompt to take our order. After getting our food the waiter did not however come back to check on us. The food was excellent the waffle was crispy and golden brown. The new quesadilla Benedict had a nice balance full of meat with pico and beans on the side. There is indoor-outdoor seating.
