My parents have been to this place numerous times so last Saturday got the first time to check it out on my way. We can at 9 and waited 15-20 mins. And by the time we left there is was still a wait so be prepared. The food was great! It was different having a salad with the omelette but like I said it was different. I also ordered a blue berry pancake it was only one but it took up the entire plate and that was great! Now my only complaint was the speed of service was disappointing. After we were seated we ordered our food and it was taking a very long time! Now I consider myself a patient person and considerate but the fact that everybody around us got their food but we were still waiting didn't sit well with me and then nobody updated us we had to find somebody and then the waiter said it was coming and then I think the manger came and said she had a party of 20 they had to serve but that was just an excuse because EVERYONE around us got their food! read more

Tried a few new things here, so updating a bit. The new Spring Clean juice was great! Very fresh and crisp apple taste. My new favorite juice. I loved the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl. Big enough portion that I couldn't finish. Quinoa was cooked just right, and the bowl was bursting with flavor. It could've used a touch more sauce because that sauce is delish. My mom had the pick 2: Roast Beef & havarti sandwich and the sweet honey pecan salad. The sandwich was disappointing. This is usually fantastic, but the meat has changed. It was dry and bland. The bread itself was not crispy or cheesy enough. The salad was pretty good if you like honey mustard dressing. I really liked this place! It didn't feel like a chain to me - food was super fresh, friendly service and delish! Lots of healthy options too! I had the Italian veggie frittata. DROOL. I usually don't go to brunch but was invited by a coworker who knows I love good food. He assured me that I would not be disappointed and instead my mind was BLOWN! The Must Gets Are: Million dollar bacon (Candy Bacon) & Sausage Links I like the candy bacon especially when added to my smoked salmon eggs Benedict but the sausage was so juicy and flavorful it was really difficult to decide but I would say the sausage was my favorite since you can get candy bacon at other places and I have yet to find a place that can compare to the flavor their sausage has. You know their ingredients are super fresh as the vegetables tasted like home grown and everything else was combined perfectly and everything being fresh made it a perfect delight. The drinks, I was skeptical about due to the interesting ingredients but once you take a sip the initial thought of strangeness becomes a complex yet refreshing delight. Something you would get at a fancy cocktail bar that has so many different flavors but all complement each other go make you want to take another sip over and over again to taste each different ingredient. I'm really big on dining experiences and food presentation but was disappointed here so I'm knocking down 1 star for that. the reason for my 3 star review is that the wait to get our food was longer than expected, and the eggs on my eggs benedict dish weren't poached. They were literally hard boiled bro. I was so disappointed in my dish that I decided to reach over the table to try my friend's lemon ricotta pancakes. The pancakes were big and fluffy, but I was intrigued as to why it was topped with fresh cut strawberries and lemon curd instead of like a blueberry /mixed berry compote. Idk, it wasn't my vibe. So I mentioned that I am pretty big on presentation. When my friend's pancake came out, it looked like someone skeeted on the pancake the way the lemon curd was splat on top of the pancake. other than the presentation of the food, her meal was definitely better than mine. Being from Oakland, my wife and I really wanted to find a nice comfy place to to have breakfast/brunch. The place was very nice and clean. There was a long line but we were able to put our names on the list and drive from our home, when we got there we were almost sat immediately. I ordered a chickenchanga which was a chicken, cheese, avacado, burrito (fried) and topped Vera cruz sauce. Served with potatoes. This was pretty good, I really liked the sauce and the chicken had excellent flavor. My wife had the ham and Swiss, that was amazing. Ham tastes fresh and the sandwich was toasted perfectly. I also bought millionaire bacon and o e blue berry pancake to share. The bacon was sweeter with maple syrup and chili flakes. The blueberry pancakes were very good, served with a blueberry compote. It was a little sweet for me I liked it with just the regular syrup. All and all this place is pretty good, my wife and I finally found a breakfast place we can enjoy, there's still plenty on the menu is like to try. read more

We came here at 9am on a Saturday morning and they were easily able to accomodate a table for 7 (baby included) - no reservation needed! We were seated immediately. This place is very kid friendly and great for groups! I think this is also a wonderful option for the health conscious and cost friendly too! We had a wonderful server that was very attentive as well! As for the food, I got the farmhouse hash skillet. Please tell me I'm not the only one that loves their potatoes crispy on one side and soft on the other?! Potato dreams! SO good. The eggs were also perfectly runny on the inside - perfection! Coffee was plentiful, not acidic, and didn't taste burnt. So of course, I helped myself to three cups. They also gave the table our own thermos of coffee, which was awesome. While the tables and chairs were wiped down, it was clear that everything was wiped onto the floor. As I took my seat, my shoes crunched on crayons, bits of food, and straws. I know they're busy, but it would be great if they swept every so often. Another observation, they should consider getting more 2-seater tables. I'd attribute the long wait to the fact that there were many couples but not enough double seating so couples would sit at 4-person tables. If they had 2 2-person tables instead of 1 4-person table, many more people could be seated, but eh. Just an observation. read more

This was my first time at a First Watch. WOW! We split a breakfast and we were satisfied. We had: - Inspired Italian Omelet - Morning Meditation Juice - Coffee The omelet was hot and really tasty. This one reminded me of a Sausage Pizza in an omelet. Really good. We had the Seasoned Potatoes and Whole Grain Artisan Toast. The potatoes were baked and were crisp as if they were fried. We stumbled upon this place while going to Nothing Bundt Cakes and had to stop and try it out. It has a very modern, clean and inviting vibe about it. The menu was very "green" and I loved what I ordered. I had the lunch "2 for you" Monterey Club and Chicken Avocado Chop Salad. Both were so delicious with the "best" ingredients. The lettuce was so yummy, the avocado and the turkey on the Monterey club sandwich oh and the bacon on the sandwich. (I think I am really hungry as I am writing this review) You must go try this place out! The Manager that was on duty actually came to us and asked if he could remake the sandwich for us because it wasn't up to his satisfaction. The meat they used was a day old and he so he had it remade for us. I am telling you the sandwich we originally received was so good that I couldn't believe what he was saying. It was surprisingly not that crowded on a Saturday around 8. The crowd started coming in around 9. The restaurant is in a location away from the mall/Highlands traffic and I find this to be a very good thing. The shopping strip where it's located makes it easy to find parking (most shops here are not open until 10). The restaurant itself is pretty nice inside and they also have a patio. I got the Chickichanga for breakfast and it was delicious. It was a decent size and full of flavor. I like how you could taste all the ingredients in this dish: cheddar, jack cheese, chicken, chorizo, chilies, etc. I was a little iffy about the Vera Cruz sauce at first, but it complemented the dish quite well. I'm not a fan of sour cream, so I scraped that off. Next time I will have them add jalapeños for a little extra kick! This meal comes with potatoes and fruit. My two favorite sides! Portion size is appropriate and not oversized. Coffee could be a little more flavorful and is a little overpriced. Kudos on the stevia option. Too many options makes it difficult to arrive at a decision (cognitive overload leads to decision paralysis). What a great way to start a long and busy day. I LOVE biscuits and gravy but stopped eating pork, (which is used in almost all white/ breakfast gravy) so I have missed my favorite breakfast meal. Today I discovered that First Watch offers Biscuits and Turkey Sausage Gravy and "Oh My" is it delicious. Two grilled biscuits, like my granny used to make, with a flavorful gravy. It is also served with two eggs (your style) and a nice portion of skillet fried potatoes (crispy and yummy). The coffee is much more than "brown water" you'll get at any chain breakfast join. It's fresh and flavorful but not too robust. How's the service? You won't be disappointed, especially if you ask for "Bafren". I need to make myself a sign that reads, "Will work for Brunch!".......,then I'm going to stand outside this spot and see if I get any takers. Yup, the food and beverages here are that good. This was my first time at First Watch, but it will surely not be my last. Everything on the menu is oh so tempting, so we took a while to decide. No worries....our waiter was super friendly and did not rush us at all. Finally, my friend ordered the BLT benedict and I got the Biscuits & Turkey Sausage gravy (gravy on the side). Both entrees were beautifully presented, filling, and delicious. The BLT benedict also came with an arugula salad topped with a perfect lemon vinaigrette. The all-important hollandaise sauce was on point. The biscuit breakfast came with 2 eggs (over easy for me, please) and seasoned potatoes. We were in "country girl" breakfast heaven, so we decided to go all out and split an order of cheese grits. Now, I think that all Southerners can agree that not every restaurant understands how to make grits properly, but First Watch did it perfectly! The grits had the perfect creamy consistency with the right amount of cheese. My biscuit was fluffy goodness --- I didn't even have to ask for butter. The gravy was even good - not salty - just creamy goodness with a little ground turkey in it. Thank goodness I don't live very close to a First Watch (they are scattered around DFW). If I were in a 5 mile radius of one of these spots, I'd be there every other day. We also each had the Morning Meditation juice. I've never been a big fan of any fruit juice, but this fresh concoction was so perfectly balanced - not too sweet - not too tart, I'm a fan. I actually look forward to checking out the other juices they make. Know before you go -- This place gets PACKED. We arrived around 11:45AM on Saturday and had a 1/2 hour wait - not bad considering I did not see any empty tables until closing time. You can get on the waitlist via the trusty Yelp app! There's also a community table, but we opted to wait for a private table. The interior is cozy here. The tables are pretty close together, but not enough to make one uncomfortable. All staff that we interacted with were nice and didn't seem at all frazzled by the "standing room" only crowd waiting to get their brunch/lunch on. The parking lot is large and free. The strip mall here has some very nice outdoor seating. First Watch has become one of my faves! read more
