    Croque Major

Tasty quick and nice atmosphere. I had the Croque Major with mixed greens salad, really good ham and cheese sandwich with Asiago malted on top. Vinaigrette on the greens was nice and light. Also enjoyed an Almond croissant which was delicious and the reason for 5 stars!! My partner loved his crepes

So stopped at La Madeleine for some breakfast and got the Quiche Lorraine. They changed the ham that was in it to little ham squares and raised the price. I don't mind if you raise the price but don't skimp on the ham. It makes the whole quiche taste different and not in the best way. It's like Little Rocks within the quiche. A lot of La Madeleine's food is like heat and serve and it's been that way since they turned the chain into more of a "fast-food" establishment rather than a cook-to-order restaurant. Best to get something that has to be prepared. Or a pastry

The atmosphere of this lil place really makes you feel cozy and fancy. I've never been to France so i cant speak on the authenticity but it definitely has a warm and cozy vibe once you walk in, sit down, and start to have lunch by yourself of with a friend. I've been here twice and I enjoyed it both times. Its definitely a good spot to meet with a friend, read a book, or take your laptop to do some homework or hang out for a while. I mostly have enjoyed the atmosphere and food options. They have delicious Quiches and their potato soup is very good. Definitely check out their lattes and sweet options at the end. They have adorable tiny tarts which are also amazing. The service is just okay, but it seems most of the front staff is young so its understandable.

Overall, I think la Madeleine is a restaurant you can skip if you're scoping out a new restaurant to try. I have eaten there several times but only because my mother's workplace gives out gift cards here as prizes. If my family didn't have gift cards here, we wouldn't eat here. I'll start with the food. Pictured below is what we ate on this most recent trip. The French onion soup was alright, but I personally thought it was much too salty. The chicken riviera sandwich was passable but quite bland. The pesto pasta with roasted shrimp was, again, passable but also quite bland. The sea salt baguette was good and was the best part of the meal. We took a fruit tart to-go, and that was good. In the past, I have tried the chocolate tart, lemon tart, and the sacher torte parfait, all of which were sweet and pleasant. Next, the service. The employees were pleasant, but the way the restaurant is set up is confusing. You order before seating yourself. It wasn't really clear, and it's also confusing if/when you tip. I don't think you're missing out if you don't eat here. I think the best things they have to offer are the pastries/bakery items at the front.

I've been going to this La Madeleine by the parks mall since I was a kid. This restaurant has always had a special place in my heart. First off, the atmosphere is just amazing. It's cozy, rustic, and romantic. The place really feels like a French cafe! Everything is always very organized and clean, and tables are cleared very quickly here. The staff at La Madeleine are very friendly and always have great suggestions in regards to their food and different ways to try it. I am a huge fan of their Sacher chocolate cake and their fruit tarts. I can't go to La Madeleine without grabbing at least one slice! I also just adore their Cesar salads. I know that seems a little simple but they do a great job with them and it's always a go-to for me! Overall, I love this place but it is a little pricey. I would recommend it to anyone who's passing by!

I visited on Labor Day and it was short staffed so the wait on food was a longer by a few minutes. Nothing major though. This location has a pretty good staff and cooks as well so I like coming here. I ordered the Balsamic salmon with rice and broccoli which also comes with a salted baguette. As an appetizer we ordered the quiche Florentine which was soft and creamy. On the way out of the door I had to order me a yogurt and cherry pastry. Must try. This thing is the devil in flaky pastry heaven lol

Quite and quaint breakfast/brunch place for some simple French cuisine. Lots of choices for freshly made desserts they make in their in house bakery! As much I wanted to grab something from their choices of desserts, we had to hold back because we were so full and kind of cutting back a little in the on the sweets...

Came here to get fruit tarts and cake for my mom for Mother's Day as I do every year. This year I got my girlfriend's mom some fruit tarts as well. I made two separate orders, each one containing half a dozen individual fruit tarts. By the time I got home and opened them we saw that they were lemon tarts. I took them back and the guy there said it was because they didn't have fruit tarts at the time I got my order and could only replace my 6 of the 12 that I ordered. I understand they were really busy with it being Mother's Day and with Covid-19, but why would you not just tell me you were out of fruit tarts and give me a refund. I don't have an issue with the two hour wait time or the fact that the items were unavailable. The issue is that they gave me something I did not order and didn't tell me and after I drove back to address the issue, the guy said he would only give me 6 of the 12 I paid for even though I saw 8 more in the window. If I went somewhere and ordered a hamburger and they were out, they wouldn't just give me a chicken sandwich without telling me.

They do well for being in an older part of town. Conchas, we enjoyed them! My favorite was whatever this strawberry roll cake was, soft & fluffy. There were some empanadas but we couldn't tell what was what & didn't want to be one of those people that cracked one open, because trust me, someone did on one of the trays. They have a refrigerated section, we'll probably try the flan next time too. The cakes are gorgeous, I can't comment on the taste... no need to get one for just the two of us. Prices are very good, yes, they take cash only. I saw someone said they take Zelle but I didn't look. I'm not mad about it though, it's a small business... they'd get charged for credit card usage. I don't know if everyone understands that & if cash only works for them & they continue to do well... I'll keep bringing cash! Very sweet employees! Go here, grab a snack to enjoy. There was a bit of a line but it went reasonably quickly. Upon entry, you grab a tray and tongs, then make your way down the line of self-serve enclosed glass cases with shelves of fresh good. We chose a savory breakfast sandwich, an Almond Croissant and another sweet pastry. In line, the offered to heat our sandwich which we allowed. Then we ordered coffees, paid and sat down. A few minutes later, we walked back up to collect our coffees. The breakfast sandwich was tasty, though the ham and cheese in the center of the sandwich was untouched by the heating process. Next time, we'll ask for a longer heating cycle. The pastries were good. Not as good as made that morning in Paris, but better than most places we've been in the US. We also took some dessert pastries home for later that same night. My wife's was sort of ho-hum but mine was fabulous. I had what I guess would be a cro-nut?? Sort of like a doughnut that was made in layers of pastry, then cut out with a donut cutter. It had a filling in the center and had a sugary coating. SO GOOD! We'll be back to Paris Baguette and we'll try other items and for sure, we'll ask for our heated items to be heated a bit longer.

I've never had mazapan, but I liked the sweetness of the peanuts and powder sugar in the drink. The matcha had grassy notes, which I liked. It tasted like a sweet fresh peanut milk drink but not necessarily like peanut butter milk. You can get a regular or large sized drink. Dulce de leche concha was pretty and tasty. It seemed more milk bread-like since it was soft and fluffy. It reminded me of melon pan because the crust was soft and crumbly. There's a small amount of dulce de leche in the middle, which is okay since the top is very sweet and the dulce de leche is rich. Shio pan with cream cheese and everything bagel: similar to a Chinese baked bread (cut almost all the way) filled with whipped cream cheese. The bottom has a slight crust but not hard like a Korean salt bread, and it's topped with everything bagel seasoning (not too salty). Dubai choco strawberry cookie: moist and almost fudgy because of chocolate chunks, topped with fresh strawberry slices. There's a small center of pistachio cream but the usual crispy noodles were already broken and mixed in, so it's less satisfying to me. The chocolate cookie part was like a rich brownie. It stayed soft even refrigerated. The marranito (pig-shaped sweet cookie) was thick and broke like a soft cookie. It's like a gingerbread cookie with less spices. Even refrigerated, the cookie was pretty soft. I'm usually not too fond of this type of flavor, but I liked this version. Ham and cheese bun: fluffy baked Asian bread with thin slice of ham and cheese. Bacon egg and cheese milk bread resembles a thick Chinese bread bun with a bacon-wrapped thick tamagoyaki inside. The egg part looked like it was overcooked. Coffee bun is a soft and high plain bun covered with a thick layer of slightly bitter coffee powder. The bread items started getting drier after getting cut and refrigerated but softened once they were microwaved. There are clean trays and tongs for the baked goods. The line moves along the edges. The bakery had (2) baskets of large umbrellas since it was a long and slow line and blazing hot. The outside line takes up most of the small parking lot. There is some street parking along the 2-way road. I think the bakery was busier than normal due to it being the day after a BTS concert and social media. It took about 50 minutes to get inside, 20 minutes to get through the line, then 15 minutes to receive drinks. There are a few tables along the right side of the inside bakery and a few small tables outside. Even though it was very busy, the staff projected a friendly and competent image. There're clay heart-shaped plates to eat on and plastic forks for splitting pastries. The graphics on the murals, merch (shirts and aprons), big boxes, and cups were cute. The image on the plastic cups are easily scratched off.
