I was excited to check this place out and unfortunately it didn't live up to its hype. Biggest issue was the extremely long wait time for service. We put our order in and it took 30 minutes for our food to come out while others around us who got there after received their food quicker. I had to ask our waitress for a straw three times before she gave it to me. The food itself was pretty basic and bland. I wouldn't come back for these reasons.

Fresh squeezed orange juice! Very tasty. Cup of coffee wasn't too strong; only cream and sugar, no flavored creamer. Huevos rancheros was very good. Appreciated the crispy tostadas, whole black beans, creama, arugula, and pico. Ordered my eggs over hard and it was perfect. I would definitely recommend this. Server was awesome. He checked on us frequently even while it was busy. Great attitude. I gave 4 stars because their menu is pricey.

We had to wait a little while to be greeted and seated, but staff was hustling and obviously short-staffed. Ambiance was bright and cute. My friend and I shared and loved everything: Chicken Fried Steak - so crispy and tasty with housemade gravy and perfectly fried country potatoes Chilaquiles - delicious with ribeye and green sauce Lemon Ricotta Pancakes - probably the best we've tried because of the Lemon Candy Zest! Pancakes were so fluffy and filling. Had lots of leftovers and my son loved it all too. My BFF said the food looked and tasted like we were at a resort. It's small and narrow inside but there's cozy outdoor seating too. Our server seemed a little stressed but polite. We'll definitely come back!

My wife and I finally made it to First Toast for brunch and upon walking inside, I found it very inviting but smaller than expected, although they also offer outdoor seating. We were warmly greeted and immediately seated at a small table for two. Our server brought us menus and took our cocktail order and the service seemed very efficient. My wife had a lemon drop which looked beautiful as it was delicious! The menu offered a variety of dishes and my wife ordered the apple, walnut waffles and I went with the loco moco.my wife's dish was crunchy, pillowy soft on the inside with apples, candied walnuts and powdered sugar...beautifully presented and delicious. My loco moco was tasty, the ground beef patty prepared as ordered on top of a bed of fried rice, mushroom gravy and two eggs over easy. My only disappointment was the fried rice, which didn't seem fried at all. In contrast to my wife's dish which had many textual layers, mine was a bit one note. It was flavorful but I think I will probably choose a different dish next time. Overall we were very pleased with our dining experience!

was able to seat right away at the bar area. started off with a guava mimosa, yum! the champagne is highly carbonated which is what i loved! the couple next to us had bottle service and i seen it was TOTTS champagne and that is a great brand. i wonder is it same for the mimosa as well? place was clean and the bathrooms were clean as well. they have a good choice of tequilas so most likely you will find something you like. the american breakfast comes with pretty pancakes. no basic kind here!

First I would like to say this place has an intimate vibe. The ambiance is great. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. I got the chiliquiles with steak and avocado. The ingredients was fresh and tasty. The chicken tacos was also flavorful and delicious. I washed everything down with a flight of tasty mimosas. Because of everything mentioned I'll definitely be back again.

We were looking for a breakfast spot before wine tasting in Lodi. So glad we found First Toast. Friendly service, great food, great prices, beautifully decorated, and huge portions too! We ate two breakfasts off of one order! I was glad they take reservations because it fills up quickly on the weekends. We will be back!

First Toast in Lodi feels like a modern version of a local diner. The food is elevated and good, though it needed a little bit of salt--probably because they were so packed. The portions are huge; one plate can easily feed two people. We tried the skillet hash with prime rib and a breakfast sandwich that had a nice aioli and handmade sausage. For drinks, the mimosas are normal-sized but have a ton of options to modify, including strawberry and orange among over 8 different flavors. We also had a Bloody Mary, but my only note is that if the bacon is burnt, you might as well leave it off the drink. Good spot, just needs a little more attention to the details when it's busy. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We will come back again.

I went here for brunch with two other friends on Saturday 4th of July. We were able to get a table without a wait. The service was prompt and excellent. We shared three different dishes each was excellently flavored. I would receive this place to anyone who would like to have an affordable good tasting meal.

We came on a Sunday and it c was really busy. We were added to the list and we waited for about an hour in the parking lot. There's limited parking as they share it with Pappapavlos so I parked in the street. There are 2 benches out front to wait but the sun does hit you. Tip* I didn't know at the time but you can join the waitlist on Yelp before heading there. It's a nature restaurant so seating is limited but they have a sub room and a patio area that offers more seating. We sat in the sun room which was nice. They have an extensive breakfast menu with some delicious plates. I seen some nice mimosas flights being served around. I opted for the blueberry pancake, chorizo skillet, biscuit and gravy. It also came with a side of toast! It was a feast for the eyes for sure. It was part of their Restaurant Week. Everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy. This is a must for brunch or breakfast in Lodi!

If you are a yelp skeptic, this review's for you. This is the reimagined Amor y Paz space that now operates as First Toast and all of the positive things said on here are true! Located in the old Papapavlos space, it is charming, cozy, and clean. The service was excellent and we chatted a bit about their often changing concept. Hopefully this one is here to stay. We ordered breakfast and lunch since we were straddling that brunch line. My husband commented that the strawberry banana pancakes were among the best he's had. Equally true for my generously piled French dip. While we live in Sacramento, we will be back to sample a few more well crafted menu options!

Went on Mothersday weekend no reservation around 9am was already packed but they had a table for 2 the place is nice with indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outside service was excellent. I got chilaquiles with green sauce as recommended from the waitress. Food was delicious. I will be going back.

Yelp Waitlist review -- skip it. The hostess said they can't adjust wait times on the app, and it isn't synced with their in-house list. I joined the Yelp waitlist and got a text estimating a 15-minute wait. When I arrived and checked in, they added me to their separate list and quoted another 15-20 minutes.

Always a good sign. We were quickly seated in their covered patio area. The seating was quite comfortable. The staff were prompt and attentive. I ordered the Potatoe Platter. Probably not the healthiest of choices but who can deny a heaping platter of country style potatoes mixed with grilled ham, bacon, onions, and topped with melted cheese. I mean seriously. I ordered mine with eggs and ordered the pancake instead of toast, more on that later. To say this is a hearty meal would be the understatement of the year. Try as I might, I packed over half of this delicious dish for breakfast the following day. Judge me if you must, but I measure all pancakes against the gold standard of pancakes, McDonalds. The Avenue Grill offered a solid pancake, light, fluffy with a slight snap, every bit a worthy competitor to my favorite. Before I knew it, the pancake was gone. My wife ordered the French Toast. Want we loved about the Avenue Grill is sometimes you just want good, simple food and this was the case with the French Toast. Based on a light Sourdough, the french toast had good flavor and came together nicely with the syrup. All in all, we absolutely loved Avenue Grill. Review #1,010 Posted on 9.13.26…read more We came here for our 17th anniversary on Saturday the 29th to stay for the night. This place is kind of unknown and it should be known, it's very nice. It's in Lodi in the cuts, and has this woodsy type of feel to it, serene almost too. The grounds were done really nice, and had tons of space too, very scenic. They've got a few different places on the grounds to eat at, and a huge spa which is my guess the main reason people come to stay here. The spa was very nice and a cool cool experience. The rooms are nice, just a tad odd how close they are to a residential sub division nearby where you can see into peoples yards and whatnot, that part threw me off a bit, kind of takes away from the privacy a bit. That's probably the only thing I would change from this. I would return 100% here.

Tonight, we returned for another birthday, but the experience was nothing like before. We arrived at 6:10 PM for our 6:15 reservation. Upon entering, the hostess walked right past us with another party, without so much as a "I'll be right with you." Another employee eventually asked if we'd been helped; when we said no, she said she'd find someone. We were finally seated, and our server, Monica, was the bright spot--attentive, friendly, and kept us updated on our food. That food, however, took nearly an hour to arrive, and we watched several tables who were seated after us receive their meals first. When our dishes did come, they arrived in stages--the succotash and salmon first, then the pork chop and gnudi about seven minutes later. Worse, nearly everything was cold and overdone. Pork chop: Unevenly cooked--some parts dry and overcooked, others undercooked. The potato purée was gummy and overworked, though well-seasoned. Salmon: Overcooked and bland; I had to ask for salt and pepper just to add flavor. The corn velouté underneath was unpleasant--the corn kernels were dried out and rock-hard (I circled the pieces I had to spit out in the photo). The beans were burnt, not charred, and tasted bitter and inedible. The succotash was flavorless and had 1/2 cherry tomato poorly executed. Gnudi: The lobster was chewy and overcooked, and the dish was dry--it desperately needed a sauce and a bright note like lemon to bring it together. The only course that delivered was dessert. For the price, the quality was disappointing across the board. Needless to say, we'll be looking for a new spot for our future celebrations.
