I was looking to lease a car and had heard good things about this dealership. I went and the man that helped me was Michael Peters and he was absolutely amazing. He has a great personality, did not make me feel pressured and was super friendly. My friend and I went to the Toyota dealership to compare and the atmosphere was not as welcoming and the staff was not very helpful. Long story short I ended up leaving Kia with a 2016 kia forte and I absolutely love it! They also helped me figure out how much my insurance would be since I don't really know much about that stuff. Let me first start by saying Kia did help me get my first car and helped getting everything approved and done great when I first bought my car, however the reason for this review is not about the company itself but for one guy... Mr. Johnny Kia. Like I said Kia was great in helping me get my car but come a few months down the road, my car started to oxidate now it's normal for cars to do that but I'm not to sure about a car that's barely 5 years old. The reasoning behind the oxidation is that my car has two different colors of paint. I noticed it when I took it into a shop to have it detailed that the car has two tone paint! When we called Kia, and this is where the man Johnny Kia comes in, he said it's not their problem when it comes to stuff like this and not only that but hung up in the middle of a phone call! How professional!! Just because you have an upset customer, does not mean you hang up in the middle of a phone call. My girlfriend and I went on Tuesday to look at a Kia Forte GT. It was dead, and we were greeted relatively quickly by a salesman. We started talking, and explained that I may need to replace my car that is possibly totaled but still owe money on. It seemed to cause him to lose any interest, and only bothered to unlock the car after we stood outside looking through the windows for a few minutes. He didn't even bother to ask if we wanted to test drive it (which is probably the most important thing when looking at a performance model), and did not seem very knowledgeable on the cars. He told me the only difference was a turbo in the GT, which is incorrect, resorted to looking at the window sticker for features and told me the car had leather seats when it was clearly cloth. Once I got back out, he then asked what my girlfriend drove in an apparent attempt to possibly make a sale off her. I expressed interest in a Honda Civic which he walked me to, then was "being called for at the showroom" and left, but told us the "sales manager" would take over. A man came by and told us if we had any questions to ask him, and then walked away. We left shortly after. We were never once asked for our names, a phone number, or given a business card. Ended up buying a new Toyota. read more

Very bad service. Went in ready to buy a car after being contacted several times by Internet sales marketer Patty Brown due to an inquiry I made through cars direct. When I went in they seemed flabbergasted when I mentioned cars direct like they had no affiliation and in addition seemed to have no interest in my business despite me being the only customer there for hours. They were not willing to negotiate whatsoever and attempted to avoid any of the manufacturer promotions that were going on. It was a big waste of time and am sorry I went there. They still contact me to try to get me to come back. I got a great deal at Kia downtown and am very happy I did not go through with any purchases here at first kia. In addition they put multiple requests in for high interest rate loanso instead of using the promotion through Kia. They have now messed up my credit and I'm getting mail from multiple credit unions mentioning 9% interests rates that I did not consent to. My score has already dropped almost 30 points due to their unauthorized credit applications to outside financing companies. At downtown la Kia I got the Kia financing promotion of 0% April no questions no hassle. Be careful if you shop at first Kia they are shady. read more

I went in to the dealership and leased a car from them, but they tried screw me over at every turn. The sales guy I had was good, but once you get to the finance people you better make sure you know what you're doing. They played with the numbers the whole time hoping I'd get confused and sign the deal. They tried charging more than the sticker price, when I pointed that out they apologized for the innocent mistake and came back with the interest (money factor) jacked up even higher. I pointed that out and got more lies. They also tried to give me 11k less for a trade in than they agreed to. The whole time they were playing dumb like they didn't know what was happening, but they were sure eager to have me sign the paper. I heard another family yelling at them after they had just finished up all of their paperwork. These guys are why car dealerships get a bad name. Not all dealerships are like this. We leased another car the same weekend from another dealer and had great experience and an honest transaction. If you have to buy from First Kia like I did (needed the car that day and they had the only car within 130 miles) please make sure you understand finance (or leasing) well or you will get taken advantage of. Also, to be clear, we weren't haggling over a hundred bucks. They were trying to dishonestly extract thousands of dollars from me. I've been involved with the purchase/lease of several vehicles and have never had an experience like this. I truly feel bad for a family that doesn't have much experience buying cars who goes in there. Horrible experience STAY AWAY. I generally do not write reviews however my experience with First Kia made me write this. I was in the market for 2013 Optima SX since the 14 were coming out and dealers were getting rid of older inventory. I requested some quotes over the internet at cars.com and was contacted by Carol at First Kia to schedule an appointment to come in, I informed her that due to the distance involved (approx 40 miles away) I wanted to know exactly what they had and the pricing. She quoted me an incredible price which I repeated the details back to her to confirm that the pricing being offered. I made an appointment and went to the dealership. After a 40 mile drive I arrived and requested to see the car. There was no mistake in which car that Carol had quoted me since they only had one with the specific options and color I had discussed. At this point Johnny Kia (the name on his business card) proceeded to tell me that there was no way I could have been offered the vehicle at the price quoted. I requested to speak to Carol, who surprisingly was unavailable. I was then told that they would have to check the "tapes" I found this odd since I was never informed that I was being recorded. After about five minutes I was informed that Carol was quoting me the price on a different color car lacking the options I wanted. When I asked to hear the tape I was informed by the manager that THERE WERE NO TAPES. I proceed to explain to the manager that I was not an idoit, I did not misunderstand, I had taken notes during the conversation with Carol and lastly why would I drive 40 miles on something that I made up. The manager staid he would give me a great deal on another vehicle. I had done my research and spoken to several other reputable dealers and knew the pricing on the vehicles. To add insult to injury the manager then tried to sell me a similar car, which was the wrong color, at a lousy price and I left. This place has horrible customer service and they lie. I purchased a car here in 2011 and all the promises were forgotten once we drove off the lot. I tried again this week to work on a deal after they solicited me by mail to trade my car in and the salesmen were horrible. No follow up calls and when they finally did they had one excuse. WE ARE SO BUSY! They also told me they were short handed in the sales dept. No wonder this place is terrible. They can't find anybody to work there how can they sell cars. Kia is a great car. If I could give it less stars, I would. "Service after the sale" is not just a catchphrase, it's a lie. I have purchased TWO cars from this dealership and in November 2014 gave a 5 star review. I want to retract that. On July 8th, 2015, I went to leave for work as usual in my 2012 Mazda 2, that I purchased used for 1st Kia in January 2013. At the time of purchase I was assured the car was in proper running order. There was no reason for me to believe otherwise. Anyway, on the morning of the 8th, my battery was dead. I called AAA to get a jumpstart and was informed by the technician that only was the battery in my 2012 car beyond recharging, it was probably older than the car itself and not even a manufacturer approved replacement. I then had to pay $100 for a new, proper battery so I could get to work. It was suggested to me that since this battery had no business being in my car in the 1st place, I should request that the dealership reimburse me for the money I had to spend, so I contacted them. My first call was answered by a gentleman who did not identify himself, who replied to my request with "that's a Mazda, this is a Kia dealership, what do you want me to do about it"? I later came to find out he was the used car manager. I then asked to speak to his manager, it took me 3 tries, but I eventually got to Vince, who seemed to be very pleasant, but ineffectual. He told me he would see what could be done and would call me back. After waiting a day, I called him back and he told me the "vendor responsible" was willing to give me a new battery. I reminded him that I already had a new battery, thanks, but I'd really like to get a refund though. He said they wouldn't do it. I asked for the name of the company so I could take it up with them and he told me he would have someone call me with that information. I guess the name slipped his mind while we were talking. At that point, pretty sure I will never see the refund, I asked to speak to the manager of the dealership, just to let him know how disappointing this whole experience has been for me. I was told he would call me. Still waiting on that call too. I guess I can just chalk this up to being a $100 learning experience, and hope that there aren't any other questionable, used, not manufacturer authorized parts on my car. I really hate to write this as I was a big fan of First Kia which is why I bought my Sportage back in 2013. The sales guys are super (Omar is a funny guy) and the service people were amazing (Robyn, you're still there and I will forever love you so this doesn't concern you). However, with that said, now that Galpin Kia AND Valencia Kia have both closed (!!!!) everyone is now flocking to this small and undersized service department. Good luck in trying to get fit in for an oil change - you can still book online but be prepared to wait at least 2-3 weeks just to get in. Once you do get in, steer clear of the guy in charge of the service department now. At least I think he's in charge of the service department. Maybe he thinks he's in charge of the service department. I really don't want to be that person that calls someone out on their shitty snarky 'I-hate-my-job attitude' but suffice it to say, my experience with Mr. S B was SO bad (like really....THAT BAD) that I wrote a three-page complaint letter to Kia Corporate detailing every condescending, argumentative and belittling comment this yakenfluster made. Let's pray he's not there when I have to drag myself back in there for a service in a few months... It's either that or I have to schlep all the way to Ventura or put my car into the hands of a local mechanic. Maybe I'll just insist on Robyn. Yeah poor Robyn having to work with this guy. First Kia - you're really swell that you offer free donuts and coffee while you wait but please - open up some more service bays, get some more mechanics and let a certain someone find another job. This was our second attempt, in 3 years, to purchase a car here, trying to keep our money in our city, and when we FINALLY got a hold of the "finance mgr" he made it sound as if we were bothering him! Taking up his time. The sales staff could of helped us from the beginning but they did not want to be bothered by us trying to purchase our car after a lease. Guess it wasn't a BIG enough pay check for them!! So we went to Ventura, where we were treated with the customer service that all should be treated with!! (even walked out with a NEW CAR!!) I loved my Kia Sportage so I just wrote it off to an extremely dishonest guy taking advantage of a woman who had just lost the last of her family and clearly was alone. This time still alone overweight and scared to death to try this again I pick out my car a Kia Soul...cheapest one I could find. I started negotiating and a old guy friend who recently tried to get ahold of me walks in....I was devastated...I was down on my luck in life and over weight I couldn't cope with this so I told the salesman this guy could not see me....please take me to a back room and I explained my story. I just wanted to get out of there...I was a mess and falling apart. He promised me the best deal and told me he would make up for the awful deal I experienced with my first Kia. They totally raped me on my deal and then proceeded to gossip to my guy friend to encourage him to buy a car....It took all of three days for it to get back to me. They told him everything....including my weight! Are there no boundaries on how low someone will sink for money. Now I drive very few miles a day and they started harassing me to come and get my fist oil change even though I was under a thousand miles. I did my homework and checked my legal obligations and it was not until three thousand miles. I would never use them anyway but these people...if you can call them that are the lowest ever. BEWARE! Don't let this happen to you.....I know the circumstances are rare.....but they sure jumped on it when they saw me incapable of handling life... I hope they get there's ! They lied about application and my credit rating, I was told Kia would not finance myself or my daughter (they didn't want us) for a buy or purchase. They only showed me 1 credit score and they had a guy from a Nissan dealership trying to do my financing????? They would not disclose what the difference was from lease to buy being that their quote showed the same price? They just said oh it doesn't matter it is what your payments are. HAHAHAHA - They were trying to rip us off anyway they could. I would be very careful if you are looking to buy a car from them. Benjamin and Henry would working together on this so BEWARE! I ended up buying a car from Kia Valenica - AWESOME service and beyond. Got us in the car with KIA Financing go figure at an $80 a month lesser payment. They have lot's more to choose from. I decided to swing by and ask in person. Jimmy and Robyn helped replace my wipers. They took the time to look up my information and make sure it was under warranty. My husband and I walked on the lot checking out some Vehicles at Simi Valley Kia Dealership, when one of the Salesmen approached us asking if he can help. We let him know we are looking for a Midsize SUV but with a 4 Cylinder engine to get better Gas mileage and we let him know that we only had 2 hours' time because we had to pick up our Son from School. He found us the right Vehicle immediately. The asking price was a little high but we made an offer and they worked with us until we agreed on a price and a monthly payment. When we went into financing it got even better, the finance Manager actually lowered the payment that we agreed on and added additional warranty on the Car. We were in and out of there within less than 2 hours and happily drove the Vehicle off the lot. All and all we were 100% Satisfied and we want to thank the whole Team at first Kia Simi Valley for making our Car buying experience seamless, wonderful and easy. read more

I've been bringing my car here for service for 3 years, but unfortunately the experience has gone downhill recently. At my last service a note was apparently made that my rear brakes needed attention ASAP. I don't believe this was discussed with me when I picked my car up after its $250+ service. This week when my brakes started crunching I took my car to a mechanic I know and trust, and found out that my rear brakes are fine and my front brakes and rotors are damaged. I love my Forte, but I am done with Kia service. read more

I dropped my daughters car off to be checked out as it started smoking under the steering wheel while she was driving back to college in Long Beach. We had to have it towed home from the valley. Long story short I was told this was not covered as we installed an after market alarm and that was the issue.. This is a 2016 Kia and we never installed an after market alarm, Kia did and if you chose to activate it when you purchase the car you can. I was then told I owe the $65 diagnostic fee to check out my car and they could not fix it without a fee and I would have to take the car back to ventura where I purchased it. The service manager Guy argued with me on the fact that I did not install this and wanted me to drive an unsafe car back to Ventura and put my car at risk as well my life driving it and possibly catching fire!! Mind you this is a 2016 Forte and pretty much brand new! Long story short my Ventura Kia dealership took care of me.. They are towing my car to their dealership tomorrow, covering the $65 fee and fixing everything under the warranty I paid for. I will never go to Simi again for any of my car needs and always stick to Ventura.. We have purchased our last 3 cars there and for safety I chose to stay closer, big mistake. read more

I never felt pressured to make the purchase and they didn't pull anything shady - no last-minute $2000 add-ons or any of the other common dealer tricks. Avoid at all costs. Pleas save yourself the horrendous, rude, unprofessional customer service you'll ever experience. I was quoted for a Kia Sedona for a 'VIP' internet price and spoke to Maggie over the phone. She said the minivan was brand new for the price she quoted me. I drove from van nuys to Simi Valley to buy the car. I get there and receive rude, unprofessional, unwelcoming introduction. They tell me the cat is not actually brand new but has 3k miles on it. I'm like oh well let's try to make a deal anyways. They waste additional hour of our time and tell us that the price we receive was a mistake, they can't even sell it to us for that price. We're like how could it be a mistake because we spoke over the phone and verified and you sent us pictures that match and stock number matches and all. He tells us that we're crazy to think we can have that car for that price we're quoted. He wasted more time and gave us a price that's much above the quoted price. They go on about how they didn't tell us to come here it was Maggie (who works for them but apparently they're not responsible). I left as soon as I could without looking back. Please, please DO NOT GO HERE!! They're extremely shady, pushy, unprofessional, and plain rude people. read more

My husband and i went car shopping this past weekend. We visited Kia as they had some great specials advertised. The salesman who assisted us was great. The one star review is in regarding to management who put together our offer. We were looking at 30K sticker roughly. They asked us of our credit and we didn't want it run but knew it wasn't over 720 which is what you needed for the special apparently. The quotes they put in front of us were a joke. A lease for a 30K sticker was over $600 a month. I was blown away and did some math between the residual and payments. There was over 5K that went unanswered for. The best part- the sales manager couldn't explain what it was from. He tried and failed miserably. This was after waiting 30 minutes for them to even come up with this joke of an offer. Needless to say we went to Galpin ford.. for a 41K sticker at a monthly lease of under $500 we are very happy in our new Edge. read more

Sad to say that I wouldnt even rate 1 star for this dealership (I had to in order to write review). Right away I noticed all of the mark ups on these vehicles. Take note of the dealer created sticker showing a MKT $1000... this is an instant profit. When you ask about it, you will get a ridiculous answer and a guaranteed attitude change from the sales person. They are taking advantage of you. Do your research and you will save $.. im telling you this because I dont feel it is ethical. Especially if you know nothing about buying a car. Its a good thing I do.
