I'm honestly quite glad I didn't read any yelp reviews of this place before heading to the dealership, as it may have scared me away from an absolutely superb first time buyer experience. As with the other excellent reviews, I am stunned to see so many negative ratings about First Kia. I was helped by Michael Peters, a sales consultant there. Coming from a sales background, I can immediately recognize when someone isn't being genuine. Michael was great, super friendly, professional but still cool and funny, all around awesome dude. I test drove a Kia Soul that I saw online, loved it, but I wasn't ready to get the car that day, which was great because they got a new shipment in a couple days later when I came back in. I ended up buying the Exclaim! model which is a bit nicer that the first Plus model I drove. As it was my first time buying, I brought my dad with me because he used to be a car salesman, although looking back, I don't reckon I would have needed him there. Michael (or Mike as he prefers) gave me a great deal, helped me out with all the stupid fumbling I did like not bringing my pre-approval paperwork from the bank, not having my insurance updated yet, etc. He was super patient, efficient, and we chatted about plenty of non-work related stuff while waiting for paperwork to be done up. His best friend from college works there as well, also a cool guy, so it's a very nice little group they have going over there, very friendly, not competitive as far as I could tell between the sales staff, and some of the staff even asked me for advice when they found out I was a personal trainer, so I feel like I was able to give a bit back to them, even though I was buying a car. It was really just a great time. Once all the paperwork was done, Mike showed me how to pair up my phone to the BlueTooth, how to use all the crazy buttons all over the car, told me all about the servicing that it'll need, even gave me a paper that has all the service requirements. I'm super happy about going there for my first new car, I love it and Kia has a great selection of cars with great warranties as well. Seriously, some people think that Kia's are cheap, but my Soul is pretty sick, an amazing sound system (I can't even max it out because the bass will shake me apart) great mileage, smooth, comfortable, and handles like a dream. I'd recommend this place to anyone, and tell them to see Michael Peters when they get there and to be prepared to leave with a new car and a big smile. I am so sorry to have to write this complaint. While Vince and Robyn are helpful the mechanics haven't been able to find the problem with my brakes. I tried again today because the squealing was so loud and obvious that I thought they could easily find the problem but to no avail. I also didn't receive great treatment when I purchased the vehicle two years ago, we had negotiated everything over the phone, when I came in the next day to put down the money the agreements were changed. This review is mostly in regards to the service department. My Kia was having issues with its clutch slipping. I took it in to the service department here and explained the issue thinking that at an actual dealership I would get professionalism and people who were knowledgeable about the cars that they sell. Instead I was met with not only some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced ANYWHERE but also a completely incompetent staff. They ran a diagnostics check (This is very easy to do at home with the right inexpensive equipment) which they charged me $130 for doing.(no parts, no labor involved) Robyn the service dept coordinator then called me and said nothing was wrong with my car aside from needing a new battery which was completely dead. (I have a new battery which was put in 6 months ago) when I was upset that they were attempting to charge me for doing nothing at all (not even driving the car to see if they could figure out what the issue was) she spoke to me as if I was an idiot, saying "everything is done with computers these days". I then asked to speak to a manager. The manager Guy called me an hour later already being defensive and poised to argue with me. When I told him that all I wanted was for someone to drive my car so that they would understand what the issue was he then calmed down and obliged. Later he called me back saying that I needed $1800 worth of work done including replacing the clutch entirely and still trying to tell me that I needed a new battery. Needless to say I did not leave my car to be repaired here. In the end I took it somewhere much more welcoming and knowledgeable. I did need a new clutch yet at this shop it cost me $800 less. If you are looking to buy a Kia Stinger do not go here. They will throw you some b.s. about having to run your credit just to drive a sub-$40k 4 cylinder Kia. Maybe it is because we looked young or maybe it is because it is their policy, either way, go to Galpin or T.O... They won't run your credit if you just want to test drive. read more

TERRIBLE All Around! Siam, my service advisor had a bad attitude from the moment I arrived. Siam kept cutting me off as I tried to express my concerns with the vehicle; and Very quick to deny any warranty related services issues. Then upon picking up my vehicle, he went on to blame my previous oil change as cause of the transmission kicking into gear... mind you, I've been experiencing this issue for over 8 months, 2 oil changes ago not counting the current one I was getting. All KIA service departments suck! That's a known fact, but this one goes above and beyond to claim the title as the WORST! Wish I could give them ZERO stars but Yelp forces you into one. read more

I went there to look at the new stinger. The customer service is horrible and very rude. I wanted to test drive one and if not possible at the moment, set up an appointment. The blond employee told us that he couldn't help us with anything because I'm not worthy of his time. He told me to ask the older guy for help, but nothing changed, and they were very rude. I love kias and the cars they make, but 1st kia of Simi Valley has horrible customer service. I have been to dozens of dealerships, but I have never been treated this badly anywhere. Horrible service. One of their salesperson gave us incorrect price and information over the phone, prompting us to visit the dealership. Once we arrived, the manager changed the price and did not acknowledge that the salesperson on the phone had made a mistake. Instead he put the blame on us for choosing to visit dealership. Does the customer really need to be told they should not have arrived? I have never seen that in business! Terrible business skills and very unfriendly environment. Even if they had a good deal, the sour attitude does not welcome you at all. They will continue to lose Kia lots of money just because of their terrible, sour, rude, arrogant, unwelcoming and unwilling to sell attitude. read more

I first went to First Kia right before the new year after receiving a letter in the mail to trade in. I didn't NEED a car, but if the price was good.. my experience over all was fantastic, I had Jonathan as my sales rep both times (when I initially looked and when I came back to purchase). He was fantastic through and through. I told him up front what I was looking for, and he was able to show me exactly those options. I didn't walk away that day with it, but he followed up, and I came back in March had bought my car (2017 Sportage)from him! The entire experience was smooth and fast. Since my review a couple of weeks ago, I returned back to 1st Kia of Simi Valley to get the EPB light fixed on my new Kia Turbo Optima. Immediately after writing my (not so stellar) review on Yelp, owner/gm Johnny, got right back to me with a response. I thought that was very professional and the way a business should run. So, 11-11-15 Robyn Evans, the service advisor, got right on it. She took my car in, had Enterprise there with my rental car within minutes. Debbie seems to be the receptionist, as well as a big help in and around the office. She is helpful and courteous too. Several hours later Debbie called to tell me that my car was ready so I went to pick it up. (Service Manager) Vince Rejkowski, and his head mechanic personally went over the EPB "Emergency Parking Brake" issue with me. then I was on my way. That is until the light went on again just before arriving home :( So, you're wondering why the 5 Stars, right? Reason Why; Robyn immediately booked me in for service the next morning. Vince followed up with a call. They got me another rental car from Enterprise. As it turns out, the parking brake switch assembly was bad. Sh*t happens. No fault of anyone at 1st Kia. I could have been some type of a Prima Donna and thrown a fit, rant and raved, made a big deal about having to drive back and taking up a bit of my day. But really..why? It's a small inconvenience to me. The world doesn't revolve around me. And the main reason I bring this up is bigger than any Yelp review. It's mostly WHY I write. To make people "Think". Most recently, The people of Paris, and the world, suffered more heart breaking loss of life. It would be selfish of me to give any negative energy or blame to such a tiny issue. Think about that and other Real Devastation the next time you THINK you might have a problem. Simple perspective surrounds each and every one of us every day. Use it. It's a blessing. Shame on Kia Dealership! I bought a Kia Soul around 7/2018. Today 9/4/2019 my kia wouldn't start. I had a tow truck jump start my battery. My mechanic saw a blue label marked 5/2018 by the battery terminals. He said that was when the battery was installed. So I should have a warranty replacement on this "Special Battery". "Special" because normal can batteries won't fit in Kia battery holders. I was told by some service parts rep the operator connected me too. Kia does not warrant batteries on cars they sell! My mechanic felt this was very bad customers service by that Kia dealership. My mechanic has been in business over 40 years! He ordered me the Kia battery and I had to pay $169.99 for the battery! I love my Kia Soul, but I would never recommend going to this shady Kia dealership! read more
