We stopped in the day after Christmas to look at body colors for the 2019 Niro EV (hideously boring, btw) because we've been looking at getting one since they were first announced. We also wanted to see what ridiculous and offensive add-ons to the model price we would have to endure [Note: Palm Springs KIA tacks on about $3k in totally unnecessary mark-up fees.] We encountered Josh (aka "Jackson") and he was nothing but helpful! For once, we got a truly knowledgeable salesperson about electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles! When we asked about what the price would be out the door, Josh and his manager actually worked with us and gave us the deal we doubted anyone would give us, in deference to the fact we were from out of state! No games, no screwing around, and we were treated like we weren't ignorant fresh meat! A totally and shockingly pleasurable buying experience! read more

I recently purchased a used car here, my salesmen Eddie P. was great. Answered all my questions, truthful and not over bearing at all. If your gonna purchase a Kia I highly recommend him as your salesmen and Johnny Kia as the sales manager. Thank you both for helping me during the purchase. Keep up the great work.!!! read more

Recent inquiry to a used vehicle. Callback received from a Sales Rep. Explained to her what I would like to accomplish should I trade my vehicle in. After a brief discussion and indicating that I would also check out another dealership, she appeared to become rude and practically hung up on me. Nice job at customer service!!! You just lost a sale. If you would like to buy a car, shop somewhere else!!! read more

Went to 1st Kia of Simi Valley on 09/11/2020... I drove an hour just to get this car here that no one else had in the color I wanted. It was small town feeling right from the first impression. The people were nice and Eddie Portocarrero talked to me first on the phone multiple times before I drove over an hour to get there. He gave me great details on the car and sent me pictures . Once the deal got started it became a team effort and the floor Manager Juan Contreras stepped in to correct an issue with my credit due to the crappy credit bureau reporting. We quickly resolved the problem and we got through the purchase. It was late and the place was closing so Eddy & Juan gave me a Covid bump handshake and showed me to the gate. Eddie Portocarrero spent a lot of time on phone before and after the sale. So far I couldn't ask for a better experience!!! These are a great bunch of people... read more

Horrible experience. Test drove a car last weekend. Then found the same car different model on the internet that I was interested in. Called our sales guy Mark with the stock number that we were interested in and he gave us the pricing and monthly payments. Totally what I was comfortable with. Drove over within 30 minutes, test drove the new car, filled out paperwork and sat there for over an hour and then suddenly the pricing he quoted me on the phone was for the car from last weekend and not the one I test drove today. Then the manager came over and totally tried snowballing us with an even worse offer. Total bait and switch and very unethical. I'm so fricken disappointed and what a waste of time. read more

We decided to try First Kia when we needed to buy a commuter car for my husband. Our salesman Mark listened to what we were looking for and showed us several different cars in our price range, even taking us to the other dealership up the street. We took two test drives and decided on a Hundai Accent. Mark was very helpful and considerate. A few weeks have gone by and we love the new car! Thanks Mark! read more

Had a great experience at 1st KIA in Simi Valley. Scheduled an appointment at 2:30 pm and was driving home in my new KIA Soul by 4 pm. Sid was a professional, no games salesman. The service department in 1st Kia in Simi is awesome! I take my Telluride there for regular maintenance services, but if there's a warranty item or recall that needs to be fixed, they always take care of it. They are super friendly and efficient. We were in quick need of a dependable, used, work car, one with a back liftgate and could handle a fair bit of weight loaded in the back. So glad we stopped at 1st Kia of Simi Valley. Noah was a great help as we looked at a number of options, and he answered all our questions with a great attitude and infinite patience. He wasn't pushy and we truly appreciated his help making a stressful week much better. Thanks Noah, and Oscar also, for setting us up and putting our new-for-us, Kia Soul to work. read more

UPDATE: Mr Kia responded right away to this post... That was great. He asked me to call him so he can speak with me about my issues with them. I called him the very next day...he didn't answer so I left him a message and gave him my cell phone number so he could call me back. I'm still waiting for your call Mr Kia. Guess it just sounded good to ask me to call you. Did you really want to hear the problems I incurred or did you just want your YELP audience to think you cared? -------------------------------------------------- This dealership is a mess! I spent over an hour on the phone just trying to get a service appointment. Apparently if First Kita doesn't answer their phone it rolls over to First Honda, Kristine at least they answered but could not assist. I left 3 messages for the service manager Vince and Kristine personally spoke with him and asked him to call me. She explained the issues I had trying to make appointment. She even called me back the next morning to make sure Vince called me back... He had not. I had hung up with Kristine and within 2 min had an appointment with Galpin Kia in North Hills. Simi Kia doesn't deserve my business after how I was ignored by their service manager. On my way to Galpin. read more

My last 2 stop by visits with the Service Advisor (Asian guy in the last service booth on the left) had TERRIBLE and rude customer service. On both occasions I drove up to the service booth without an appointment, got out of my car and stood there, and that service advisor would not come out of his air-conditioned booth until I knocked on his door. On the first occasion, a plastic dust cover on the front undercarriage of the car was hanging down and rubbing on the tire. He was annoyed I pulled him out of his service booth, promptly told me it was not a warranty item and would cost at least $500 to repair it, in a very abrupt unconcerned tone of voice. I left, and my 14-year-old son secured it with cable ties from our garage at home. On my second visit last week, with the same service advisor, same thing, he would not come out of his booth until I knocked on the door, and then he acted annoyed that I was taking his time. I told him that both rear brake lights were out, and I was wondering if my boxes of work catalogs in the trunk may have rubbed against a wire harness? He made zero effort to look at my car, just told me a diagnostic fee would be assessed of at least $118, even if it was just bad bulbs. Feeling annoyed at the lack of customer service, I left. The following week, I went to Kirby Kia of Ventura, where I got excellent service. The service advisor there was very helpful, immediately assessed that I only needed to replace two blown bulbs, which I bought there for $12 and he put them in himself for free on the spot. So much for First Kia Simi Valley's $118-$130 diagnostic fee! They lost my business, and I will make the drive out to Kia of Ventura next time I need service, where I am treated with valued respect, diligent attention, and honesty. read more

My mother and I came from Camarillo seeing what they had in stock and right away we were approached by a man working there. Wish I had got his name, but my mother and I left right away because he made us feel like we're attacking him with one reasonable question "you have any cars without add ons?" We left fleeing from the sales man who was not very nice to begin with but was otherwise pushing us to leave. We left to Ventura Kirby and eventually bought a car there. I don't think pushing away customers is probably going to run your business very well. read more

This review is to highlight one of their best employees: Oscar ! This past month I've had bad luck with my car tires that within this last month I've had two flat tires! However, one of their newer associates Oscar provided amazing service to my boyfriend and I. From both visits Oscar was always super attentive, quick and very helpful. He made us truly feel cared for as KIA customers and made the situation much less stressful with how smooth he handled everything. He went above and beyond to get what my car needed! read more

took my KIA Soul in for 2 recalls and was made to feel like I was totally unwanted and a bother to the service writer. I asked about an oil change and he seemed less than thrilled to even speak to me about it. The text sent to let me know car was done stated: Hello, car is done. We completed 2 recalls. Thank you. We close at 5pm. Wait a minute, you close at 6 but want me to pick up by 5 so you can get out early. I even questioned him about closing time but he would not give me a straight answer. I purchased a prior KIA from them new and had service done over the years I owned it and never had this poor service prior. Funny thing, when I dropped off the car and picked it up I never saw 1 other customer anywhere in service or sales, yet too busy to even try to sell an oil change. I will only go back for the next recall. read more

I am incredibly particular about my process when buying a car. I did 10 months of research before I visited a dealership. I ended up negotiating with four dealerships. FIRST KIA IS THE ONLY DEALERSHIP THAT TREATED ME LIKE A CUSTOMER AND NOT A MARK. Were they tough negotiators? Yes. In the end, did I get a fair price on the car and a fair price for my trade? Definitely. They even beat my Federal Credit Union on financing by 2.5%! Jonathon was without a doubt the best salesperson I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He was incredibly patient and kind with my ridiculous process on how I wanted to do things. He was persistent but not aggressive. He was perfect. I will be enthusiastically recommending him to any friend or stranger I find that is in need of a car. read more

It's time for that oil change that you have been putting off! I came in for an oil change and a recall. I had to make an appointment about two months in advance because appointments fill up FAST! I pulled up to the service area and I was quickly greeted by Robyn. She already new my name and was ready. She gave me a estimated time and she texted me updates throughout my wait. It took 3 hours for these services. The oil change was about $42 and the recall was free. They gave me a point inspection and a free car wash. I needed the car wash bad so I was grateful. The lounge is stocked with free water and donuts but no air conditioning or it was at least super weak. There is free wifi as well. But I wasn't going to wait 3 hrs with out air conditioning so I walked across the street and waited at the starbucks. So there are a lot of restaurants around to wait at. Overall Robyn was really nice and the cashier is nice. I appreciated the good service. read more

Wow where do I even start? The staff here is beyond rude they are downright disrespectful. . 1st Kia is just terrible - they're busier than they can handle and instead of expanding to meet demand, they're just letting their employees act like rude assholes to customers. I understand that they are overwhelmed due to the closures of the other two Kia dealerships but that is no reason for them to treat their customers so horribly. When I first leased my car all was well (before the closures of the other dealerships) Cameron who was the sales guy was really nice unfortunately he's not there anymore and I can see why. Twice now I have been treated rudely and disrespected at this place. The first time I came in with a nail in my tire and the guy told me with such an attitude and said they don't deal with tires even though I got an email advertising them trying to sell me tires so obviously they do do tires and he was lying. More recently today my car which is a 2018 Kia Sportage that I've only had for just over a year and has only 16,000 miles on it pretty much almost completely gave out on me while driving on the freeway. I got a warning of a catastrophic engine failure and the car started jerking back-and-forth while I was driving it. I was in the car with my 16-month-old and it was really scary. Luckily I was able to get off the freeway and nothing bad happened. When I called their service department to see if I could take the car in the woman on the phone was extremely rude she basically told me they were too busy for me and that if I wanted to I could sit around all day and wait and see if someone could look at my car when I told her I had a 16-month-old and that just wasn't going to be doable for me she said I wasn't the only one in the world with a baby. Unbelievable the way they talk to people! Shame on you first KIA! I will be reporting this to corporate. I so desperately wish I could get out of my lease I never want to have to deal with these people ever again. Do yourself a favor and don't bother with this place they are much friendlier at Kirby Kia in Ventura although I've had other issues with them their customer service has been nothing but nice. read more

READ REVIEWS BEFORE WASTING YOUR DAY!!! Made an appointment online to get my car serviced. The transmission slips/ differential slip 99% of the time when accelerating from a stop. My car has 59k miles on it so it's covered under warranty. With that said I arrived to my appointment was greeted rudely by the Asian man who I assume is the service advisor. I explained what was going on and that none of my service lights were on, so they were going to have to diagnose. He said all they could do was diagnose by computer and that if the service lights weren't on, nothing will come up. I told him that would be pointless. He then said I'd have to wait a few hours for a technician to look at my vehicle. I agreed, thinking since I am waiting, someone will actually be able to diagnose the vehicle. I told the man that upon finding out the issue that I would schedule another appointment to bring my car in since it would probably take more than a few hours. "Well we are booking way out into august" ok? And? My car has an issue and needs to be fixed! So he takes my keys and I go to wait in the waiting area. After about an hour and 15 minutes I get a text that my car is done. He said nothing came up on the scan (YOU MEAN THE SCAN WE ALREADY ESTABLISHED THAT WE WERENT DOING BECAUSE NOTHING WOULD COME UP??) and the technician drove it 14miles without seeing any problem. First off you did not drive it 14 miles according to my odometer, straight up lied to my face. I was so heated with this rude man I got into my car and left and what do you know, my first acceleration I felt the "problem" and my entire 45 minute drive home as well. Is it because you are lazy and my problem is covered by warranty that you don't want to fix it? Or that I'm a young woman and you think you can just write me off? I'm not sure how this place is still in business with this man as their "service" advisor.. taking my Kia to the Ventura dealership to have it fixed. First Kia is disgusting, run down and dirty just like it's employee. read more

This review is in regards to the service department. Unfortunately I had a very negative experience. I brought in my car for a recalled part, and after picking up the car it was noted to have a new issue, with a rattling sound coming from the engine. Long story short: they avoided any responsibility for the problem, made little attempt to help resolve the issue or even set up another diagnostic visit to further investigate, and gave extremely poor customer service. After picking up my car for this recall, I noticed a new issue that was not present before I dropped it off. A few days later, I tried to call the service department on two attempts with no luck (first attempt on hold for over 5 minutes, and second attempt the following day, call was disconnected after waiting for a couple minutes). Eventually somebody reached out to me, and when I brought in the car to be looked at, after an hour wait, the service manager, Guy, had me come in the car for a drive to evaluate. He seemed to change his story multiple times - first saying they didn't touch anything in that area, then saying the sound was a normal sound that normal people wouldn't even notice, but then when the noise was VERY AUDIBLE and clearly couldn't be ignored, he then tried to blame it on me, stating that perhaps I hit something or ran something over to cause the sound. He would just come up with reason after reason as to why they were not at fault for this new issue that coincidentally arose after they had serviced my car for the recall. He then tried to do a visual inspection and pointed at a potential loose knob which he said may have been the issue, and just pushed it in. (Surprise: It did not resolve the issue.) Whether or not this was a problem that they caused, which to me it seems like it was an issue that arose right after their service, any attempt to figure out the problem was not there. The service was very poor and honestly disappointing, especially from the service manager, Guy. To have your customers need to return multiple times, only to receive such poor service is very disappointing. I would not recommend having service done here - would attempt other dealerships for hopefully better luck. read more

First, I get suspicious when I read such negative Yelp reviews about a place of business - whether it's a restaurant, a store, or a dealership. These negative reviews make it sound like the reviewer was tortured or something. I often suspect competitors are posting horrible reviews to bring down their competition. And I believe this may be the case with First Kia. This a small dealership, run steadily by Johnny Kia, the GM. It would not be in their interest to chase off customers. And in fact, we had a great experience. My wife and two kids came in one afternoon to look at the (amazing) new Kia Telluride. Salesman Noah Kiedaisch came out to greet us with a smile, and showed us the car. We test drove the Telluride, and we all loved it! We were just beginning to shop for a new car, and told Noah that we'd get back to him. He gave us his business card, and said to call him, if we're interested. No pressure. Then we went to Car Max and test drove a bunch of cars. We did a lot of research. We called a few other Kia dealerships in SoCal to compare prices and inventory, but First Kia had the exact model we wanted at the right price. We went back on a Sunday, and had an easy and mostly pressure-free purchasing experience. Yes, there was some pressure when Juan (the assistant GM) negotiated the final terms, but that's part of buying a car. In the end, everyone was fair and professional. We drove off the lot happy. A few days later, my son noticed a small hole in the back interior panel (the size of a dime). It was clearly damage during manufacturing or shipping. I came back and showed Noah, who told Johnny, who immediately approved replacement of the entire panel. Easy peasy. Bottom line: Don't believe everything you read on Yelp. Go into First Kia, and make up your own mind. read more

Deeply, deeeeeeply regret buying a car here. They are so dishonest; it's crazy to me that they have such a high average on Yelp. They tell you anything while looking you straight in the eye (I guess kudos for their stone-cold sales techniques) then when you verify, they change their story. Fun fact: Cilajet costs $90, so their markup of $600 is insane, even more when they tell you they will "give it" to you "at cost" of $300. Their extended warranty "at cost" is $830 but marked up to $1800. Sure, they're a business but when they lie to you to convince you that you've made a great deal, that they are making no money on the deal--don't believe them. These dirty liars have empty souls; zero morals. read more
