I want to thank Oscar for going above and beyond and making sure I received the third free oil change I was promised by my sales guy when I purchased my 2022 Telluride in December of 2021. He went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. I will definitely return to 1st kia for my next oil change. read more

I recently had my 2014 Kia Optima serviced for a manufacturer recall and needed a diagnosis for the air conditioner not blowing cold air. I was told that the compressor was not functioning at an optimal percentage and the recommendation was to have the part replaced. I was provided a quote which included their standard fee for the diagnosis of the problem minus the tax on parts. I decided to proceed with the repair. However, upon arriving to pick up my vehicle, I was told that there was an error with the original quote and the labor was not factored into the final price. I was obviously not thrilled about this and Oscar Robles was kind enough to right the situation and provided me a reasonable solution to the error. Oscar was very thorough and professional throughout the whole ordeal and made me feel as though he was doing everything he could to make me happy. Even though this was a frustrating situation, I left feeling well taken care of and my air conditioner is running perfect. Thank you Oscar! read more

Some of the most miserable days of my life have been spent at car dealerships purchasing new vehicles. I hate the whole process, the cat and mouse, the back and forth, the games being played. I F-ing can't stand it! Fortunately I can say that is not what I experienced at First Kia. I have purchased two cars there,a 2011 Optima Hybrid and a 2014 Sorento. Absolutely love both of them. I shopped the hell out of both classes of vehicle and felt that I just got so much more bang for the buck with the Kia brand. Not a bit of buyers remorse on either purchase. In both cases I went in knowing what I was willing to pay for the vehicle, what manufacturer's incentives were available, and what finance options were available to me. Still had to go through an abbreviated gauntlet.., the "let me talk to my manager" thing, and the "here is our fiance manger," but the negotiation on both purchases was very quick and easy, took all of two minutes before we reached an agreement. I knew right where I wanted to be and was willing to walk in a flash. I think that much of my positive experience has to do with my salesperson, Omar. No pressure, very knowledgeable, very respectful, and easy to deal with. If you go in, just ask for Omar and tell him I sent you. He will shave 5 bucks off the MSRP, I promise. Can't do five stars on any car dealership, too many scars from the past, sorry guys. read more

Third-rate, amateurish dealership! Went in today to get a warranty service done...I have a letter from Kia that states there is a known problem with the door latches, and they will be replaced for no charge. Another Kia dealership has completed the service for me with no issues--and no charge for diagnosing it. Since I live close by, I thought I'd use 1st Kia for this one. But the service advisor first tries to tell me that the warranty only applies to the rear doors (it doesn't), then tells me I have to agree to a $130 charge merely to inspect them, which, he explains, will not apply if it is a warranty fix. Yeah, I can smell the way this is going...some excuse about how it's a different problem, and I'm out $130 and still have a non-functioning door handle. When I raise an objection, the guy just turns on his heels, goes back into his little room and closes the door. Unbelievable! I've encountered this attitude here before, so really not surprised. This place only cares about draining your wallet, not actually helping you and your car. It may be 30 miles to Kirby Kia in Ventura, but it'll be worth it to be treated properly. read more

Definitely not returning to First Ki... The glove box latch broke off in my 2018 Optima. I called for an appointment and was told it would take 3 hours to complete. I told them it could've take more than 10 minutes to replace a simple glove box latch. So I asked so speak with the service manager. He said that part of the reason for 3 hours is they have to perform a full point inspection that I didn't want (car has only 13,000 miles)... He said they were obligated to perform an inspection because California law says they can be sued if something happens to the car after it leaves their dealership. Sir, THERE IS NO SUCH LAW!!! Anyway, taking all my future business elsewhere so I can get 10 minutes of repair work done within an hour... That's when they have appointments, right? Do they know when to exorct read more

So the manager reached out to me, which I appreciated as his customer service was better than the first person I dealt with. He began to inform me that a Kia certified electrician was at the dealership that day, looked at the car and immediately stated that it wasn't a factory wiring job and had never seen this before. Ok ty, thank you for explaining, and saying a few other things that just made, Zero sense... I took my car to the dealership that that we got it from, all the way to Glendale, and was there for all of 5 mins as they were able to fix the issue and send me on my way. I updated to 2 stars simply bc of the manager calling me and trying to make it right. Guys get second opinions when getting work done in your cars. Simi wanted to charge me $225, Glendale fixed a factory issue without question or charging. read more

I am giving 5 stars for the service repair department particularly for Oscar. Oscar goes above and beyond to make sure that I as a customer am comfortable, understanding of the procedures being done to my car, and what is covered with my warranty and what is not. He helped me schedule an appointment for the next day to bring in my vehicle, made sure while I waited with my son that he had my car worked on at the earliest convenience. Definitely recommend this Kia and Oscar is great!! read more

*UPDATE: Guy managed to reach out to me on Monday, Feb 25. He was adamant about the damage being on my mom's car prior to service. I argued the opposite giving my reasons. He said he would share with me the pre-inspection paperwork and a screenshot of a video that showed the missing paint prior to service. I was happy and appreciative of Guy FINALLY providing this proof. It was then I told him I filed a complaint against him and Doug with Kia corporate about all of this. From the evidence Guy provided it was clear that the missing paint was there before my mom's car was serviced. This is all we wanted and needed. This is exactly the kind of proof I had asked Doug for earlier.* read more

We recently bought a pre-owned Kia Niro at First Kia in Simi Valley. It's been a long time since we bought a pre-owned car so there were a few snags that we haven't experienced when buying our last several cars, which were all new. Through it all our salesman Sid was exceptional. He was polite & professional and delivered on everything promised to make sure we were happy with our car. We really feel like we got a good deal, we love the car but Sid made sure we were completely satisfied, kept his word & followed through. I highly recommend working with Sid. Do make sure you carefully read your contract when you deal with finance. Thanks to Sid, we are happy customers. read more

Wanted to post another review for great service from Oscar. I went in for my yearly maintenance check and complimentary service and Oscar remembered what I needed from my last visit. The drive from LA to Simi Valley is long but totally worth it for the amazing service! read more

I am an auto dealer and we had a customer's vehicle which had a very unique and hard to diagnose intermittent issue. We decided to bring it to 1st Kia, and Oscar Robles was quick to jump to our aid. We were worried about an expensive bill and extended time without the car but Oscar assured us everything will be handled properly and timely. We left the car with him in good hands and let them work their magic. Oscar kept in contact every step of the way and made sure I was well informed of the process and any concerns I had were met. After a brief period and several phone calls with updates later, we finally had a solution that other mechanics were not able to find. I am grateful I got so lucky to have a great service advisor like Oscar and a fantastic team at First Kia to help me with my issue on our 2014 Kia Forte EX. The car was driving great before but now even that small intermittent issue is gone and we are happy to say it was a job very well done! Thank you Oscar and First Kia, we will definitely be back. read more

Salesman was curt with his responses and seemed annoyed in answering the two questions we asked. If they were busy I'd understand, it was 1:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday, and they had one other customer. Drove from Northridge to Simi Valley, no thanks, will stay close to home next time. read more

Great experience. This is the forth new car purchasing experience we have had and by far the best. I called 4 dealerships regarding an issue with my Optima. The other 3 ( Including Van Nuys, Valencia and South Bay ) couldn't give me an appointment for 2 weeks. My phone rings, it's Greg ( the Service Manager ) and he is so nice. He asked if I could bring the car in that day ( I did ). He and Sang ( service advisor ) took the best care of me. Today ( 2 days later ) I picked up my car and it's perfect. Sang and Greg were so great at communicating with me. I knew when the part arrived and when the car would be ready. I had taken my 2015 Kia Sorrento in for service expecting a rather high bill due to the mileage . Oscar Robles has been my service advisor for several years now and took the extra time to review my past service history (since the car was new - 9 years). He discovered that over the past couple years several of the recommended services had actually been completed but unfortunately not coded accurately. I was also anticipating needing new spark plugs based on the mileage. Oscar and the mechanic checked my spark plugs and found them still good. I appreciate the honesty and integrity shown by 1st Kia. I look forward to being a satisfied customer for years to come. Thank you Oscar!!!! I'm a Kia owner for life. read more

Do yourself a favor and go to another dealer. This dealership needs major renovation. It is filthy. The service department is understaffed. It takes 2 weeks to get an appointment, guess you need more than 2 mechanics ! They have yet to bring back the shuttle service even though the county has declared an end to the pandemic. After having my car for 8 1/2 hours, only one issue was resolved, one issue they didn't have the parts for and the last issue they couldn't diagnose. The issue that the supposedly resolved was something that I had to take my car in 3 times for! I say supposedly as I was told on prior visits that the problem was resolved only to find out it was only temporary. Like the rest of the run down dealership the parts department does not have inventory so a part had to be ordered. I think the issue is my car is under warranty and they would prefer to not do the work. As for the undiagnosed problem I was told the diagnostics did not show an issue. I was told that if this was the case the mechanic would drive the vehicle to manually diagnose the problem (I told them the problem was intermittent). My odometer read EXACTLY the same mileage as when I dropped off my car in the morning so the mechanic did not attempt to address my concern. When you look at their website their mission statement reads "Premier Kia dealership in the state of CA. One of the most comprehensive parts and service departments." read more

It took the service dept here four months to complete a safety recall repair last year, twice they turned me away because they were refusing recall work entirely. When a related problem came up a few weeks ago, their service rep explicitly denied that the work done had come with any kind of warranty. This was proven false - the service rep lied - by Kia's own recall notice. When I brought my car back, warranty notice in hand, they ran me off. The rep insisted on payment and refused to even look at the recall notice, and the service manager Greg went into his best belittling intimidation mode and called me a child, then lectured me for interrupting the end of his long workday. My engine has a fire risk, and these guys care so much about safety that they're willing to ignore both a recall and a warranty in search of payment. Resist and they will clearly seek to bully you. read more

Brian was a phenomenal person to work with. He helped validate all my concerns, didn't push any unnecessary services to my car and was very kind/professional. Working with Brian and then Oscar for my pickup made me feel comfortable and never like I was being taken advantage of which is contrary to how I felt at another local Kia in Ventura which I will never go back to. Overall, I will certainly bring my vehicle back any time I have even the littlest issue and will hope to work with Brian again! read more

Taking Our Business Elsewhere! For years, when we lived in Lincoln, NE and the San Francisco Bay Area, we always took our cars to the KIA dealership because of the excellent customer service we received. Since we've moved to Ventura County we have yet to find a KIA dealership in the area that provides the same excellent service we had grown accustomed too! Our most recent and greatest disappointment was when First KIA of Simi Valley over priced us by approximately $3,000 for a repair after they found out we were in the market for a new car. Not only were we over-priced they also stated we required unnecessary repairs. We can only assume that this was a sales ploy to get us to purchase vs. fix our current vehicle. Luckily, we have a good friend (who works for a well renowned dealership) take a look at our car and fix the necessary repairs at a fraction of the cost. Thankfully, there are honest mechanics out there and dealerships that go that extra mile because they care about customer service and customer loyalty! Next time we have an issue we are contemplating about trying the KIA dealership in Santa Clarita or even L.A. even though will cost us over an hour in driving time! Hopefully, they'll be able to restore our trust in KIA! read more
