I had stayed away from the dentist for the last few years because, well - no one likes the dentist. I saw this place as I was driving by and decided to take the plunge and I'm so happy I did. My first appointment was with Alana, their dental hygienist, who was so awesome and then I met Dr. Mazhari, who was even more awesome. She was so friendly and educated me on all things dental, which I so appreciated because no dentist had ever taken the time to really talk to me. I ended up needing some work done and Dr. Mazhari and the assistant, Kayla, were such a great team. I was so well taken care of, I didn't even feel the needle when getting numb (which is the worst part!). I have always been afraid of the dentist (I literally cry at every appointment). Ever since I was little, I have had naturally bad teeth due to problems when I was a baby. I was told by my previous dentist that I needed a root canal and crown, so I went to FID for a second opinion. Dr. Carter Reeves is SO kind and he explains his entire thought process as well as what is happening to your teeth in human terms. I was lucky to find First Impression Dental through a google search when I first moved to Ashburn. My experience was great starting from the first phone call to schedule an appointment, the staff are extremely warm and friendly. I felt like I had been a patient there for years. Dr. Reeves made me feel at ease as soon as I met him. He explains everything very clearly and gives all options. His work is meticulous. He has chosen the most state of the art machinery to be able to offer the best work to his patients. I felt almost no pain during my root canal procedure... I'm so happy to call this my new dental office! They are located in a new plaza in Ashburn. Upon arriving the receptionist greeted us and was very friendly! We didn't wait long for my daughter to be called back first for her cleaning. They offered Netflix to my daughter while she was getting a cleaning and she was a happy camper! The hygienist was very friendly and wonderful with my daughter. After her cleaning was finished the doctor came in and did an assessment of her teeth and I was able to ask as many questions as I pleased. The doctor had many neat tools, including a small camera he used on my daughters teeth that zoomed in and looked for cavities on her tv screen! They did extra ex rays to see how my daughter's teeth were growing and if she would need braces in the future. After my daughter got a good report, it was my turn! The hygienist was very sweet with me as well and we chit chatted while she worked. After she took some photos, the dentist came in and did half of my cleaning. I have never had a dentist that does any of the cleaning--my past dentist have always come in after and just given me a run with what the hygienist did. The dentist cleaned and did a full observance of my teeth and answered all 156678 of my questions with a smile and patience! I also had to come back on as separate visit for a filling and everyone in the office was just as nice the second time around. They turned on the tv for my daughter--even tho she wasn't being treated. I had pain free visit and the doc walked me through everything he was doing. My husband and I got a filling the same day and my husband went to a different office and started before me but my numbness wore off before his and he had pain after from his office--he should have came to First Impression. When it was time for me to check out the receptionist was busy so Dr. Carter helped me make my payment and I was on my way! I really am in love with this office and will recommend them to people looking for a friendly, excellent staffed, pain free, clean, and updated dental office!! read more

Don't even think going there. I went there with a loose crown and they did nothing, charged me for 1st time customer $99 for only one x-ray and that they couldn't re-cement my crown until it was completely out. Then they wanted me to make an appointed to see the other doctor for implant. They don't care, they just want to make extra money on you. The receptionist had the nerve to tell me that she gave me a discount of $57, because they charge more. Where is the 1st time customer special??? We all fear the dentist but with this place I almost get excited. The staff at first impression make you feel very relaxed but you also know your being taken care of. I have never bothered to write an online review for any business or anyone before, however, Dr. Carter Reeves at First Impression Dental in Ashburn, VA is worth the time. I am terrified of needles, and I pass out easily, having done so during cavity fillings in the past. I have avoided the dentist for the last 10 years, leaving me with a broken tooth and several more on the brink of cracking open. I finally decided to get over my fears and find a dentist and I'm so glad that a coworker referred me to Dr. Reeves! The cleaning was painless, which he performed himself, and after x-rays and a tour of my mouth with his high tech camera, he laid out a plan for my dental care. I had an appointment scheduled for today to fix the cavity in the broken tooth and put the temp. crown on, and I was so scared to go in. I'm 35 and I even had my mom come with me, I was so nervous! There was no reason for my anxiety which quickly became apparent. I barely even felt the shot, and what I did feel could have honestly been in my mind. He was so gentle, and he & his wife Liz were so understanding and put me at ease. They didn't even mind that I listened to my headphones for most of the procedure. Dr. Reeves checked several times to make sure that I was sufficiently numb before starting any work, which I sincerely appreciated. I was expecting to feel awful for the rest of the day, and I feel perfectly fine. He scheduled me for 1.5 hours and it took exactly 1.5 hours. Dr. Carter is extremely skilled and knowledgable, and his wife/assistant Liz is so kind and caring - I can't recommend this practice enough!! Next visit I get my permanent crown and he starts on my next crown and I'm not dreading it one bit. I'm so grateful for their care!! read more

I just got back from my first dental visit to Dr. Reeves and First Impression Dental. They say always trust your "first impressions" and in this case, I'm sold. He was careful to walk through everything he was doing, pointing out the issues, rather than just saying you need this and that done, it was impressive. Dr. Reeves is hands down the best dentist I have ever been to. I have dental fear and a history of traumatic experiences at the dentist. When first walking into the office, it is clean, bright, and the front desk is friendly. Dr. Reeves was so friendly and had excellent bedside manner. I was given multiple treatment plans to fix my existing crowns that we're improperly done. He did a quick, pain free scan of my teeth so that he could go over the 3D image with me and discuss my dentition. He explained each option in great detail and did not pressure me to do one or the other. Once I decided, we began fitting for my new crowns! I was so thrilled by the amount of work Dr. Reeves can accomplish in one office visit and I had NO pain at all during any part of it (but if you do, Dr. Reeves checks in with you multiple times during your procedure to ensure you're comfortable). I now have a brand new smile and it's perfect, from the shape to the color- everything! I can't thank Dr. Reeves or his staff at FI Dental enough. Highly recommend! read more

Awesome! This is the word I would use to describe my experience w/ Dr.Reeves and his staff! I'm new to this area and was dreading having to search for a dental office for my family. I found this practice on Yelp. I knew going in that I had a cavity that needed to be filled from my previous dentist before I moved . A little nervous to try out a new dentist for a procedure such as this, I scheduled a new patient/cleaning appt. to start just to check the staff/facility out. The hygienist and front desk were very pleasant and patient w/me considering I couldn't find my new dental insurance card. The front desk lady graciously took time (about 20 mins) calling around in search for my ID number. Most Dental offices would reschedule you if you you are late! That was not the case ,they still took time to see me! That right there gave me confidence on entrusting Dr Reeves w/ a follow up visit for my cavities. Follow up visit was the best dental experience I've had in a long time. It turned out I had 3 cavities instead of the one I thought I had. Dr Reeves explained everything step by step and was very honest w/possible expectations on the outcome. His technique on numbing and post op were great. I followed his directives and had no pain during as well as after the procedure. If you have had a bad experience w/ dentist in the past or a fear of going to the dentist he's your guy. If you have been blessed w/ stellar dentist in the past and would like to keep your lucky streak going he's your guy as well!! I have had a really great experience at FI and have been telling friends and family how impressed I was. I used to go to Dr. Sheik in Sterling for years, but aside from his secretary, didn't like any of the office staff or dental assistants; every time I went I felt belittled. They were rather condescending and I always left upset! So I put off going back to the dentist for too long and was hesitant to go anywhere, but picked FI based on the 5 star Google reviews and am so glad I did! The office is really modern and I've never seen such high tech dental equipment. Dr. Reeves is lighthearted, cheerful, funny and put me right at ease. The office staff is so friendly; two of the girls sat and chatted with me before my first visit. We are due with our second daughter any day now and they took that into considerarion and showed interest in her impending arrival, which I appreciated. The doc is very meticulous and explained everything to me on my level (I'm in healthcare with a Masters degree), which is more than the other place did. I also liked how kind the assistants were, they seemed at ease but professional. I have to go back another time for more work but I'm not nervous about it at all. First Impression Dental is outstanding. I had two fillings done, and I didn't feel a thing. Even the first shots of Novocain. It was only 45 minutes from when I walked in to when I was walking out. I had been going to the same dentist since 1996 and had no issues with him at all, but my mother-in-law just couldn't stop raving about her recent visit with Dr. Carter Reeves and his staff. So, I thought well why not go and see what is so extraordinary about First Impression Dental. I initially called them to just come in and get a quote for porcelain veneers, but after I left I just knew that I would be back. I've been back a couple of times since, once for a cleaning and another for additional work, and have felt as comfortable as if I were visiting old friends. The office is so beautiful that it's almost spa-like and doesn't have that clinical feel at all. But my favorite thing about going there is the fact that Dr. Reeves talks to me freely and constant which makes me feel extremely at ease. He doesn't make you feel uncomfortable about asking even the slightest question and makes you feel as though he's got all day for you. It's all about you! And that's just him, his wife is the office manager and she is equally amazing. She made handling the insurance, paperwork, and payment a breeze and SOOOOO friendly.
