We were SO excited to stumble upon first draft while in Denver! We are from Minneapolis, where our first draft closed earlier this year -- and we had no idea that there were other locations! A self serve taproom is my favorite, so I'm so happy to have gotten to try this out during our quick trip. It was a stunning day out so we sat on the nice patio, and got to try a number of their beverage offerings. The staff was super nice and casual, I would totally come back in a heartbeat.

I love this concept - you start a tab with your credit card, then you get your own little card and wave it in front of the tap, then pour as much or as little as you want of anything on tap! The prices are pretty decent, just don't get too carried away or you'll end up with a surprise when you get your final bill. I also liked that they had a box where you could essentially close your tab out by putting your card in there and it would add a 20% tip. It's nice if you're in a hurry to leave but can't get anyone's attention to cash out. I do wish there was a little larger of a selection for things like sours, hard seltzers, meads, ciders, etc.

Found this place while walking around larimer street. It called my name. The outside patio is pretty big and the inside is spacious as well. I discovered they have an upstairs as well. But my favorite part was the beer selection. I love how this whole thing is set up. You get a card and you tap it on the beer you want and you pour. You get charged by the ounce but when I checked out it was super cheap!!! Service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. Will be telling all my friends about this place!!! Can't wait to come back!!!

I basically love everything about first draft... The self pour beers, the unlimited selection, the cool vibe, the patio the people watching the snacks and whatever else I forgot!

Tacos, green chili wontons, lumpia

Great selection on tap and I always love self pour since you can just try a little if you're curious about something. The food is provided by Adobo and we loved the food. The chicken adobo tacos were our favorite and we loved the green chili wontons and lumpia. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the vibe was great- great spot to grab some good food, drinks, and hang out with friends!

A craft beer lover's playground. Tons of beer on tap from Colorado and some other states too. You can pour your own so you can try many different ones without committing to a full pint. Great location as it's next to some other spots, one being a food hall so you can either get you base layer started or go grab some grub after your fill of beer. We did order the chile fries off of their menu to go along with our beer and they were delicious! And if you want to take it up a notch, they also have some alcohol, so have a screwball shot for the road.

A you-pour-it style tap room. I liked the option of getting to try many different beers and ciders by just pouring myself short pours. Sorry about all that glassware. Many of them were local beers which was nice. The décor and vibe is pretty funny stuff (not just a Shenanigan's in Super Troopers) . I got a kick-out of all the Back to the Future stuff. Good open seating indoors with a good size front patio too. This place would be good for a group of friends or a first date spot too. They have an express check-out too, where you place your RFID pour card into different levels of gratuity bins. It was helpful to be able to bounce so quickly. Cheers!

When this place first started, it was incredible. We felt as if the prices for the taproom were equivalent to drinks in the area. A lot has happened since, and now you're lucky if you can find a beer that you enjoy that is not $10-$13. the food here is always awesome though. You order it from the QR code, and it comes directly to your table. Everything here is pretty self serve, which makes it a very quick in and out. It's located in the heart of rhino, and you can walk to a lot of places from here as well. The decor is awesome. It really encapsulates the vibe of rhino. It's a great spot, but I give it three stars because of the recent price increases, which I understand. I just feel like they should be kept within ballpark of the surrounding areas, especially for the beer. As you can see in the photo, they have a huge selection. They even have wine and cocktails that you can pour from the tap. They've added a photo booth, which is fun to use as well.

"I miss loud tap rooms" Soooo good!

This is an awesome self-serve craft beer stop! We've been to one other place like this & the other place wasn't as good because it didn't seem like they cleaned their lines. We brought our dog so we had to sit on the patio that had one tent for shade. The host here was so nice & made sure our dog had water. My only complaint would be that I wish there were more umbrellas & cooling fans cause it's HOT out. Also, the food truck Adobo at First Draft is fantastic! We got tacos. They had a $2 taco special & they were so good!

Awesome taproom with a nice selection. They also have a full bar and a list of specialty cocktails. Staff does a nice job of explaining the pay ahead/card feature used for the taps. I've never had the food here, so I can't say how it is. What I've seen looks good though! I like sitting outside. I wish they had more fruity sours or ciders (they probably do on the rotating taps but didn't the two times i was here), but this is still a really fun brewery experience!

Pierce was my server. One of the finest servers I have ever had. Engaging, prompt, knowledgeable of beer and food menu as well as local. Excellent Beverages: Apple Cider and Restless Nights "Porter"...Fantastic $7/pint. Food. Fantastic quality Roasted Brussels and the BEST fried pickle chips....sadly, portion size was about half what I'd like, but I probably need to cut back!

Living wage fee 20% ...

The staff was nice, the selection was great so I have no complaints there. There's plenty of non alcoholic options, hard kombucha, wine, beer that you pour yourself by the ounce. They do have a kitchen which includes a selection of tacos, nachos etc. When we got done and ready to pay we were never told what we were truly being charged for. I was told my total was $32 or so, the screen was flipped with an option to tip which ranged from 18% and higher. I chose my tip option, signed and got my receipt. As we walked out realized that a 20% charge was already automatically charged on the tab before I even got the option to tip. The charge called Living Wage Fee was not disclosed to us. So to recap my experience... after getting my own glass, pouring my own beer, cleaning up after myself (putting glasses away after use to clear off the table) I was forced to pay a total of 40% in simple tips. I understand times are tough and businesses need to implement options to keep staff employed, all I ask if that you let me know what I get charged for and tipping in this case should be optional. If I would have known I already paid 20% Living Wage Fee, I would maybe have considered the additional 20% tip on top of that.

stay away from the lumpia/eggrolls
Kevin L.

giving this place 3 stars for the beer only, the food was hard pass however. It is sooooo cool that you can try so many different beers and you only pay for what you pour yourself, what a cool concept. especially if you want to try something new but mayyyyybe don't want a full glass. It is a little lacking on decent ipa's and hazy's but, the novelty more than makes up for it. I tried the lumpia/eggrolls since it was their "claim to fame" and said "as seen on netflix" but man these things were just awful. no flavor besides bitterness. the seasoning added on the rice made it not even edible. and the dipping sauce? some of the worst i've ever had. Edit; updated review since the food is a different business! TLDR; Stay for the beer, eat somewhere else.

Great space.

I'm going to be out there on vacation and plan on checking this place out, can I bring my son along during the day? Are there other people that take kids?

I believe kids are allowed but all the drinks other than water will be alcoholic. The snacks are good but a bit pricey.

The ciders are in a good variety with each one being just as good as the next one while I can't remember each of them I had as I was just soo tired by this point in the adventure I can say I did enjoy each one of them as they all had awesome flavors and were just refreshing! The fried mushrooms we ordered were outstanding they had a Thai chili sauce on them which was super yummy mixed with a perfectly fried shroom that was full of flavor making for some of the best fried mushrooms I've ever had! My burger was just standard while the meat was flavorful the green chili fell short leaving me wishing it had more chili on it but don't get me wrong it was still yummy and a good burger that you really can't go wrong with! So often it seems like ciders automatically have that original apple cider taste, but Stem goes out of the box! The customizable flights ($12) made it super easy to try the ciders. On this visit, my favorites were the hard mango and hazy apricot! However, I liked all that I tried- salted cucumber, chile guava, and hard peach tea! Most unusual was definitely the salted cucumber! I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food was too! My partner and I tried the soft pretzels ($11.95) and the green chile and pepper jack burger ($17.95). Both were great! Pretzels were fresh, tender, and piping hot! Comes with 3 and they paired well with the cider cheese. The burger was incredible tasty caramelized onions, green chile, beef, and cheese- we requested aioli on the side but great flavors and served with perfect crispy fries! This RiNo location was super relaxing with both indoor and patio seating and live music during this particular evening! Service was attentive and friendly!

So much outdoor space that we will definitely make the drive back on a cool, sunny day. We sat at a massive table that could easily seat a party of 10. Maybe they use these as community tables when they're busy. Either way, it was quite spacious! We ordered ciders and the parents ordered one of their flights to taste some of their traditional ciders. I immediately set down the Blueberry Lime. In love. With ciders, is there really ever a bad one? I think not, lol. The food was amazing as well. It looked scrumptious - presentation was fabulous. Cooked to order but we didn't wait too long. We tried their cactus appetizer which reminded me of grilled onions - tasty. Burgers were on the menu for us. And I loved their salad. So very fresh. Stem uses local sources for their fresh ingredients and it really makes all the difference. My partner had the chicken fried cheeseburger and would have liked more flavor. The breading became soft fast and didn't stand a chance with the gravy, making it a soggy mess. My Fuego, on the other hand, was great (GF CRISPY CHICKEN, FUEGO PICKLES, JALAPENO SLAW, HABANERO JACK, SPICY AIOLI). It was huge but packed well. Our servers were great and checked on us often. Definitely bookmarking Stem to return. They've got so many ciders and craft beers on tap, as well as cocktails to offer. And that view!

A friend recommended Acreage, so after a long day in Boulder, hiking and walking around town, we stopped by on a Saturday evening. And honestly, it lived up to the hype and then some. The setting is what really makes this place special. It was busy with what felt like a true local crowd--families, kids, groups of friends--all hanging out. There's a huge outdoor area with picnic table-style seating, plus some indoor space, but the real star is the view. The mountain backdrop is unreal, and the sunset we caught that night was one of those "okay, we could live here" moments. They do take reservations, and I'd highly recommend making one if you're going on a weekend. We loved it so much that we've been back twice since, once while apartment hunting and again after we moved, when we brought family to show them one of the spots that sold us on Denver. For a cider-focused spot, the food seriously overdelivered. The soft pretzels are next level--three per order and perfect for sharing. Everyone gets their own and is happy. The roasted baby carrots were just okay and probably something I'd skip next time. The Jalapeño Caesar with added chicken is really solid, and the winter salad (also with chicken) was a huge portion and great if you want something a bit lighter/greener. The Lafayette cheesesteak sandwich, though, has been the standout for me--top tier. I'm a sucker for a good sandwich and this one absolutely delivered. There are still a few things on the menu I'm looking forward to trying next time. And of course, the cider. I'm not a big beer guy and neither is my girlfriend, so this place is perfect if you're looking for an alternative. I'd definitely recommend doing a flight. They've got a wide range--from fruitier options like blueberry and apricot (crowd favorites) to drier ciders, which I tend to prefer. They also rotate some unique options--recently we tried a salted cucumber cider that was great and quite refreshing. My personal favorite is the Banjo series, which is aged in bourbon barrels. It has a subtle bourbon flavor that makes it super unique and really enjoyable. All in all, Acreage is more than just a cider spot--it's an experience. Between the views, the atmosphere, and the surprisingly great food and drinks, it's become one of our go-to places!
