After much extensive research, the results are in. First Class has the best jerk chicken in Toronto. Period.

Honestly a lot of it I've never heard of before but that was the best part, discovering new good food! We had been told to try doubles while in Toronto so I had been on a search for it. Here it was. Yes I can say everyone with a foodie palate should try this! Just delicious. Two flatbread fried puris (bread type ) filled with the original filling of Chana masala. Slightly spicy but so much flavor. The nice crispy puris and the Chana oozing out makes it messy but so worth it! You can also get meat fillings too , chicken and beef I believe. But I'd a say at the OG is the way to go. Yum. A Trinidad treat in Canada who knew!

Living in Cleveland, the thing that I miss the most is Caribbean/Island food. It being so accessible in Toronto made me feel right at home. Y&E is Trinidadian good, just as you know it. The server/owner was extremely kind and quickly prepared my food in front of me. I got the Curried Chickpeas and Potatoes; the scotch bonnet was so spicy that I'm sure I felt my face burning off... which is exactly how I like my spices. Seating isn't the greatest, but... that's what you get at this type of food market/setting. I'll definitely be back during my next trip to Toronto.

So some web searches found Sheryl's - located on Eglinton Weat near Dufferin. A higher power encouraged me to go in, but making it pour rain right as I was getting in. Immediately I could smell the Carribean spices. Mmm mmm mmm! I ordered by curry goat roti, wish coleslaw and Diet Coke. While I was waiting I spotted their authentic Carribean breakfast menu and I knew this was a good place! Now I need to figure out how to get there for breakfast. Anyways on to the to the goat roti. It's bone-in but there was very little bone in mine. My diabetes was thankful that there was no potato filler in it. But the taste. Yummy. The flavour built for the first few bites, to a crescendo of greatness. I should also mention that the roti shell was a dhalpuri roti. I'm not used to Jamaican places offering a superior roti shell. Overall this is an 8/10. Cost was $24. I will repeat.

There is also about 12 seats + 5 bar stool seats. Street Green P parking . I would say this is probably one of the better spots on the strip for BBQ Fried chicken. Real friendly staff and community, I went on Jan 2 and everyone was greeting each other wishing everyone a good happy new year and the server had manners (not always the case at Jamaican restaurants) Great ambiance with lots of natural light coming in. I'd highly recommend.

The caribbean food and flavors, mixed with the casual yet sultry ambiance, and the amazing playlist of soca, dancehall, reggae, and r&b...makes this place an absolute must-try when you're in the toronto area. The customer service is like a big caribbean hug from your relatives! Everyone is personable and warm, and yes, Mrs. Lonie (the owner) dropped by our table for a bit of a family reunion. Mrs. Loni and her husband also own Isla restaurant in Washington DC. The food hit all the right places..the fried snapper was fried and seasoned to perfection, and the oxtails were finger licking good. And of course the Likkie patties are delectable...I ate 4 on one sitting...and you're more than welcome to judge ;) This restaurant is popular, especially during caribana weekend, so make a reservation and try to be on time! King street is very busy and congested, especially on holidays and weekends..so plan your mode of transportation wisely...and don't even think about parking unless you get there during the day. Highly recommend Miss Likklemore's!!!

It has that Smokey jerk chicken flavour that you can only get in Jamaica. Their jerk chicken is fresh, never behind a glass to be heated. First your get your rice (if you're going for the convo) and then you go outside and the chef puts either Jerk Chicken or Jerk Pork into your plate. You can get a small for $11 or medium for $18. You can also just get meat only for $12 (small), large was maybe $20. The hours are odd though. 8:30pm-2:30am so you might not be a person that eats that late, but if you do, perfect spot! There are a couple of seats in here, but it's mainly for takeout. Cool staff as well.

When it was time for me to order a different girl (girl2) helped me. I accidentally told her small jerk chicken then after I changed it to a large. girl2 gave me the dirtiest look, and girl1 told her to just change it for me. When it was time to pay girl2 said it's $18 then quickly changed her mind and said $19. I handed her $20 and then girl2 asked girl1 for $1 change. Girl1 questioned the $1 change because normally they would give $2 change for a large jerk chicken. I did not say anything as she was already giving attitude and her face was not having it. It was also not my turf. Girl 2 basically changed the price for my jerk chicken based on her mood. Terrible service from girl2. Not impressed... Food is good but unfortunately her service brought down the rating.
