Stopped by on Sunday morning after a wedding in SLO with some beer-loving friends for some lunch. We had dogs with us so we were seated in the outdoor patio. There's a ton of menus - beer menu, wine menu (!), and food menu; you can order either at the bar inside or using the table QR code. With a table of 3 couples, it was super easy and convenient to order on our phones on our own tabs. We ordered a variety of items: tuna tacos, ahi tuna salad, fig and pig burgers, garlic fries, wings, and a large variety of beers. Everything came out very quickly since we came around a relatively quiet time, beers first and then food shortly after. The service we did get was good and the beers were fun to try out. We were happy with how we could turn around lunch as we had a wine tasting to follow up on after so we were in and out in an hour, full and happy with some of the notable Firestone Walker beers. I highly recommend the Cali Squeeze Peach Pomegranate! They also have some cool merch inside, some of us left with t-shirts and yellow Yeti mugs that says "Definitely Beer" xD Looking forward to coming back! read more

As a craft brewer, FW has always inspired me with their ingenuity, and creativity in making great beer and I have followed them from their beginnings. My long awaited stop did not disappoint. Due to my long travel, I could not fully indulge in their vast selection of beer /flights. I did have a non alcoholic, '8zero5' that paired well with my Bear burger. Katja was very pleasant and invested in our dining experience and was excellent helping us order our meal. The restaurant is very sheik, and exceeds your ideas of common bar& grills with it practical but, upscale decor. The best way to end a long work week is with a cold crisp beer, food, and great company at Firestone. Wings were perfect with just the right amount of Buffalo sauce, the 805 Smash Burger cooked to perfection and juicy, and the pizza was the best. My preference is thin pizza with a perfect crust with great flavors and this one was great! The service is perfect because you can order and pay through an app. Food did not take long which is always nice. As for the environment, you can hold a conversation without the overbearing music. Terribly rude hostess. Someone was having a tough day and thought to spread her discomfort to customers. After a challenge just to have her seat us on a 20% capacity (if that), we opted to just sit in the bar area. The look on her face spoke a miserable understanding of life. There is not much better service at the bar, unfortunately for us. Everyone behind the bar seemed to not give a whoot whether you sat down or waiting in the bar- (drink food) line. There are too many good options in Paso Robles to spend your money. We came for the beer and to show my out-of-town guest a good time. We will move on, have one beer, and consider ourselves lucky. Home of the 805. Yelp community has done it again. Went here as a last minute add to my trip and it did not disappoint. Looked like a popular gathering place where locals and tourists go for happy hour (which is basically any time of day ;) If you like beer and seltzers, this is the spot. Here, you'll find their core beers (staples you can find at home), as well as their special selection barrel-aged craft beers (Barrelworks & Propagator) that can only be found at their 3 brewery locations. This location has a tasting room (The Visitor Center) that's connected to the brewery where you can book a 1hr tour of the entire facility, as well as The Taproom Restaurant, located across the street. The Taproom features a large dining hall, with spacious indoor and patio/courtyard seating. We came here in April and had an amazing meal. So when we were back in Paso during June, we took friends and went back. I ordered the same salad I had previously. My salmon was totally burned. Just look at the picture. The worst part was that they thought I wouldn't notice or care and still served it to me. I asked for a replacement, and they did take the price of the meal off of the bill, but still. Where is any quality control when you serve your guests a meal that looks like this? I am sad to say I don't feel like taking another chance on this place. Convenient if you want to get tasty food at a nice place while driving along 101. This is Firestone Walker's BREWERY, and therefore a whole brewery complex with a visitor center, a brewery/brewery emporium, and a taproom restaurant with a gastropub menu. They're set up to handle large tour groups, so the restaurant is pretty big. They could seat our entire group (14 to 18, some left after a bit) right away (though it was pretty late) and we weren't close to anybody else in there. Plenty of parking, but they're kind of spread out weirdly all around, making it a bit confusing to navigate during nighttime. In consideration of pandemic circumstances, you order and pay using your phone through QR codes, though waiters will still take orders. Side note, the waiters were asking about sending anybody who's looking for a job their way. Apparently, they're SUPER understaffed. We specifically went because a lot of people in our group really like their 805 beers. It was too late to attend any of the tours, but we could still order their flights to try. I don't drink beer and was just for dinner. Their menu didn't really have anything unusual, but all the food was done REALLY WELL. I absolutely loved their Comfort Mac-n-cheese and Rustica Carne pizza. And despite being a bit out in the middle of nowhere, it's not TOO too far from Paso Robles and they do takeout and delivery. Overall, really appreciate them handling our group so late at night, basically helping everyone recover from their part of the road trip. If you're not heading this way but want to do a Firestone's beer tasting or food, they also have taprooms in Buellton and Marina del Ray. However, this remains the actual brewery, complete with tours, a restaurant, space for events, and a visitor center where you can buy ALL the beer and their merch. Such a wonderful place to hang out for any occasions. The food is great. We got a bear burger and the hot fried chicken sandwich. Both are very well balanced in taste, and at the right amount of portion. I am not the big fan of their fries though. This place is right off the freeway, a must stop! It a beautiful brewery and a great restaurant as well. They have a patio ( dog friendly) very nice vibe. Casual dinner @ the Paso Taproom. Wife had Fish & Chips, I had the Bear Burger. Fish was great, nice batter, great fish. Even looked great across the table, and I'm a former commercial fisherman! I ordered my burger medium-well. It was cooked PERFECTLY! Crunchy edges, tomatoes were grilled or roasted caramelized onions, The whole thing was a 3 napkin melty mess, couldn't have been better! Fries were a huge portion, shoestrings with the burger, steak fries with the fish. They weren't very hot but that was our only gripe and a minor one. Wife had ice tea, I had a Cal Poly lager. Good quality ingredients for the caliber of restaurant and fast service. Once we ate we took the brewery tour which was full of historical fun facts about firestone and walkers history in making the business. After the walkthrough we where all given a souvenir taster glass, 3 free beer tastes, and 10% off at the emporium! Came here on our way back from Pismo Beach. We were a big party and were sat pretty fast. We got there right at 11am. Afterwards we saw it getting busy and the parking getting packed. There's plenty of street parking as well. They have you scan a barcode and you put in your order that way. This is good if you have a large party so make sure your phone is charged. You also need to connect to their WiFi because you might not get service inside- most of us had a hard time so we connected to their internet. Food was delicious and arrived to us quickly. Their campus is huge and the brewpub is right next to the factory and the staff at the 'goods emporium' let me know it's a little ways further down. Ordering is a little disjointed, there's no waitstaff per se but there was a guy who went around explaining how to order food and he also brings it out to you but everything is done through QR code/phone, like so many places lately. The food is ok. I think for what you pay could be a little better. My 'Tri-tip' sando was really just a glorified Philly cheesesteak, it was good but a bit overpriced. However, if you want beer you still have to go to the bar and order. So, I'm really not quite sure why that differentiation is made? Irrespective of those 'ankle biter' type issues, the beer are great. I know it's pretty easy to find 805 or Mind Haze or Pivo but why would you go for their vanilla stuff when you can take a walk on their literal wild side. Located right at 46 and 101, this brewery is easy to visit and relax with good food. They have both production and barrelhouse tours which can be booked on their website and meet in the visitors center, which is open normal business hours. The restaurant and taproom have good food and an impressive motorized can filling line running along the top of the bar, but the visitors center is where the true aficionado and brewer should visit. They have all their tap beer and some prototypes, as well as canned beer for takeaway and the person working there knows about brewing. You can also sneak a peak into production by using the restroom. You can see the packaging line and tanks, even if you don't have the time to take a tour. I heard Mr. Walker personally led an extensive tour last week and I'm impressed; as a brewer I'd have loved to hear his perspectives. Fritz Maytag used to do tours in the earlier days of Anchor and so that was neat to hear. I'd love to do a dedicated visit and spend the day here, as well as covering the other 6 breweries located in this very wine-centric town. 5 breweries are walking distance and Firestone Walker is a large, impressive operation for a craft brewer. They have a separate emporium down the street that has all the merchandise, as they have little in the restaurant and visitors center. The food is great for a brewery, which is rare, but it's pricey and I'm not a fan of the ordering system; you either order using your phone at the table or queue in a line and pay, with them bringing the food out to your table. Whilst handy because you can leave whenever you want, it's impersonal and time consuming. A person will check on your meal, but it's weird. I'd prefer a normal server model since they still seat you. They have covered outdoor seating also, which is good because when it's 63 on the coast just a short drive over the hill in Cambria on 46, it'll be 95 here, so they have plenty of AC. The buildings are spread out and so the parking is in tiny lots and along the street, but most of this is from being along the freeway. It's super easy to visit and I only wish I'd had more time to properly visit and see their barrelhouse and production facility. They seem to be a little past where Drake's is now and having followed Sierra Nevada from being a brewing duo to distributing nationally. Something neat is most local eateries and bars have beer other than just the vanilla 805 on draft, which shows how much the local region is proud of and respects them. The only negatives are it's pricey and hard to properly visit without a dedicated trip to Paso Robles...it's simply too hard to enjoy their craft with a substantial drive, but they do accommodate this with the visitors center and emporium. You should plan a trip if you're visiting Paso Robles. They also have a location in Buellton and a prototype brewery down in Venice. It'd be swell to have pea soup at Anderson's and sample Firestone Walker, so another trip to consider if you're passing through Buellton. read more

This place went from one of the best dinner restaurants in North County to a sh!thole after the stock sale to the Belgian company. It was a great steakhouse. Now it's a really bad pub. No vegetables to be found anywhere, burgers are bland and seasonless, gross appetizers, horrible service, QR-code menus in an all-steel building with no cell service. I've never seen any restaurant worse than this one now. read more
