hungry man meal here are the pancakes & butter

this is an amazing place to eat for breakfast with super affordable prices. The workers are very friendly. Celebrated my great grandmothers birthday here and they offered here a free piece of cake they had in the back. it was delicious food with very generous portions for the price. really nice. limited parking outside though so i would get there as they are opening!

Absolutely excellent time catching up with cousins, and the food is very good too!!

It was on a recent visit to Gastonia I was excited to reunite with family and my cousin suggested a place for breakfast that was outstanding. Home-style comfort food is what you'll find here at Firestone Grill which has a versatile space that was perfect for our group with a menu that was reminiscent of my years spent here in my youth.  This locally and family-owned spot is friendly, clean and welcoming and is great  whether you're looking to just enjoy a meal, or in my case, are getting together with friends and family. Be aware that putting the address 1325 W Franklin Blvd, Gastonia into your GPS didn't work for me. It could be because there's a 1325 East Franklin but just look for the sign.  Some of the popular dishes at Firestone Grill include homestyle classics such as fluffy pancakes, hearty omelets, juicy burgers, and a variety of sandwiches. But breakfast is the real deal when it comes to homestyle goodness, with biscuits just like Momma used to make. Oh, and breakfast meats, sure there's bacon and sausage but the additional choices of a good country ham, bologna, tenderloin and a real local favorite livermush!! I know, most folks get grossed out by the name but not me :-) What is it exactly? Well, livermush is a regional food that originated in the foothills of western North Carolina. It's a pork mixture of ground hog meat, liver, spices, and cornmeal. The tasty delight has a history dating back to the early settlers in the area, and it's believed to have been influenced by German immigrants who brought similar dishes with them. So now you know, and BTW it's also good friend in a sandwich. Love it! I had the Hungry Man Special plus pancakes, my honey had a veggie omelet (of course she's not a local LOL) and there was a variety of choices in our group and everyone thoroughly enjoy their meals from start to finish, and they make really good coffee which is always good. They also  have daily specials and a weekend buffet as well Bottom line: Firestone Grill is totally a local gem  with friendly staff, a warm ambiance, flavorful dishes, and excellent service. Whether you're a Gastonia local or a visitor passing through, be sure to stop by Firestone Grill for a taste of home-style comfort food at its finest. Highly recommended!!  Firestone Grill operates from Monday to Saturday, with hours of operation as follows: * Monday to Friday: 7:00 am - 2:00 pm * Saturday: 7:00 am - 12:00 pm * Sunday: Closed To stay updated on the latest offerings, specials, and events, visit Firestone Grill's official website at https://dlstines.wixsite.com/firestongrill or follow them on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Firestone-Grill-LLC-363639147828830

    French toast. 10/10

One of my clients ordered breakfast for us one morning and the food was great! Very filling, AMAZING prices, and tasty food. I loved the French toast. The grits were a little unseasoned but they provided salt and pepper in the togo boxes. The potatoes are delicious and perfectly seasoned.

What a horrible experience. I ordered an omelette with spinach, onions, and mushrooms. I ordered hashbrowns. The coffee was delicious I will say. After 20 minutes I got an omelette with sausage and onion. Hashbrowns were raw. The toast was soggy with butter. )I asked that it be done well and dry. Of course it came back pale and wet). Then it seemed they didn't believe me when I told him the order was wrong and three people hired over the check that reflected my desire. They went back and gave me grits instead of the potatoes. They were watery, no salt, needed major work. My omelette came back it had peppers tomatoes and onion. Everything was right in it. Oh and cheese. Again I asked for mushrooms spinach and onion. I'm going to give the bacon its own paragraph. If you eat their bacon, you'll find it's petrified or raw. You can lose a tooth on the petrified bacon. The raw part left in oil slick on my lips. Sigh Now it comes time to pay. They charge me for the coffee, which was delicious, they charge me for the bacon, well I did take it to the boys, and they charge me for the grits, which I didn't eat. That was 6 dollars. They should've just said we're sorry, having a bad day, come back again. But they didn't and now I will not go back again.

We were going to walk up Crowder's mountain one Saturday, so I called one of my friends and asked where should we eat breakfast in Gastonia, without hesitation he said, "Firestone Grill." Done. So after our being one with nature, we went to find food!! Yeah. We ordered grits, eggs, biscuits, sausage and pancakes. The place was packed. My only complaint is bad coffee. Inexpensive coffee can be fine if they would just put a little more grounds before brewing. I do not know who comes up with those stingy portions. I am going to start writing hate mail to all the large food service companies. Firestone Grill was a great local visit with decent food, go check it out.

Webb Custom Kitchen - Gastonia 10:45am Mothers Day…read more My son asked me where I wanted to go for Mother's Day. I had been to Webb a few times. I thought he would enjoy the theme, environment/vibe so that was my suggestion! Of course they didn't let us down lol! He was looking up the movie that was playing on the screen with Barbara Stanwick and a young Kirk Douglas. We loved the music they had playing as well so many memories wow what a throwback! We were seated upstairs and had a wonderful view of the screen, not to mention the activities in the kitchen down below. Really it's the best seat if you call for reservations! We ordered off of the brunch menu for main dishes, I told him he absolutely had to try a couple of the appetizers! We had fried green tomatoes, and the angry lobster to start. Both were absolutely wonderful and exactly what I expected so definitely consistent. We ordered two Benedict dishes. I got the crabcake Benedict and he got the eggs with ham. Everything was very good, but when it comes to crabcakes, I can't lie. Nothing compares to 131 main so the size of the Crabcakes - I was a bit disappointed. Don't get me wrong. They were fresh, but too thin and the flavor and texture were not to my personal preference. The crab kind of got lost in all the other ingredients. I would definitely try a different dish next time. I ordered a side of bacon, perfectly cooked and great flavor. Along with the side of their mac & cheese, which has always been a favorite. I love the combination of cheeses that they use. It's such a treat! Lastly, we had to have their Parmesan truffle fries. Again consistent, excellent! They are always busy so reservations are required versus recommended to be honest. But we parked for free across the street because we were there early. Sadly, neither one of us had room for dessert, but their desserts are so good and the helpings are huge. Maybe next time!

So when you first go in you stand in line with a bunch of menus available so you can look it over while you wait. Also, as you near the cash registers there is a window that allows you to see them making the dough and cutting the biscuits. I allowed my parents to place their order as I was gonna order separate. After placing my order I didn't get a number to take to our table like my parents. I was told it was put under my parents number. ok whatever. So there is a pretty good amount of benches and chairs in store and there is a covered outside area to sit as well. By the time we made our own drinks and took our seats it wasn't long before my parents food came out. I ordered my food after so I wasn't too worried that mine didn't come out with theirs but I was watching the kitchen door and I saw the runner with my order looking around for a number I wasn't given. As she approached I told her it was mine and she just gave it to me. Glad I'm honest or anyone probably could have gotten my breakfast. So I ordered the pancake corndog with a maple mayo sauce? I hate mayo so regular syrup would have been better for me. The sausage on a stick wrapped in pancake batter was very good, especially when dipped in regular maple syrup. I'm not sure I was getting "corn" in the pancake but maybe it was more in name only. Either way it was very tasty. My main breakfast item was the Chicken N Ditch the Waffle. So basically a nice piece of fried chicken and a biscuit but with a twist as the biscuit was "French Toasted". I felt that the biscuit was dense and even though it was "French Toasted" I wasn't getting a lot of that flavor coming thru. I think I would have preferred the waffle. Overall the food was good. It came out hot and quickly. Will I be back, probably not because for me the price was a bit high. The $10 for the pancakes and sausage wasn't bad but the $15 for what was basically a chicken biscuit? No thanks. Please check them out for yourself because they have lots of variations to try and like my mom, this might be your new favorite breakfast place!
