I really wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt because I've trusted them with my car more than once... but this is now a pattern. Most recently, I went in for service and about two weeks later my car started smelling like gas whenever I turned the AC on. That led me to finally check under the hood myself -- and what I found was honestly shocking. My engine air filter was completely missing, and the air intake hose wasn't even connected. It was just sitting on top of the engine. Not secured, not attached to anything -- just left there. That alone could've caused serious damage (or even melted from engine heat). So for the past two weeks, my car has been: * Pulling in unfiltered air * Running with an incomplete intake system * Potentially circulating fumes into the cabin That's not a minor mistake -- that's basic, critical work that was simply not done. What makes this even worse is how it was handled when I brought it up. There was no apology, no accountability, and the mechanic actually raised his voice at me when I asked about the missing filter. I stayed calm the entire time -- I wasn't disrespectful, I just wanted answers. This also isn't my first issue here. Back in July, I came in for a routine oil change and tire rotation and was upsold on additional services that ended up messing with my tire pressure sensor. When I addressed it, I got the same response -- uncertainty, deflection, and no accountability. At this point, it's not bad luck -- it's a pattern. Before moving I needed to take as little time as possible for my state inspection and annual maintenance, so I scheduled here instead of driving to Honda Round Rock. POOR CHOICE. Made an appt for 12:00. Came back 1.5 hours later after walking around and I was told my car was next. Another hour later I asked again about my car and I was told it could be another few hours because they were backed up. NOW, wouldn't you think they should have told me this when I first arrived? Also, they could not be ruder upon arrival and continued. Then having to hear the guy working in the bay area come through the filthy lobby bitching. I don't want to hear you! The lobby has cobwebs everywhere, floors are dirty, and no complimentary water. I asked for my keys and left after 3 hours waiting for nothing. Cannot say enough great things about this place - especially the gentleman to assisted me, Mr. Mike! My car is a newer and fully-loaded gem and I love it so dearly, however, my driving expertise is not always up to par and I had the grand misfortune of hitting a speed bump which resulted in a blowout yesterday. Long story short, the dealership was handling everything perfectly and last minute decided they wanted to tack on an additional service (because why not, right?) so I wanted to get an idea of 1) whether the service made sense and 2) if the dealership price quote was reasonable or a gouge. Called Mike first and am very thankful. Turns out my particular car has all sorts of additional components that would have needed extra attention and up charges AND that the service in question IS actually a good/ responsible idea. While Mike's store has the equipment and know-how to handle it all, the pricing actually falls right about on pace with the dealership's quote. Since they already have my car and it's ~50 miles away, I'm just going to let the dealer get it done, but I definitely wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for Mike and his patience and ability to explain everything this evening. 15/10 recommend. I would give this place a zero if I could. In May I brought my vehicle in, the AC was blowing hot air. I was told the hoses needed to be replaced. I also paid for an oil change. In all I paid them $1200. About a week after the AC was "fixed" it began blowing hot air again. When I called, not only did I not get any empathy, I was met with, "We're busy, you can take it to any Firestone location, the repairs are under warranty. It's probably faulty parts, it happens all the time." I took my vehicle back to this location & they checked their work only to come back & tell me that now the compressor was out & it was going to cost me another $900 because the compressor was "working within parameters" when they gave it back to me, but magically stopped working. The next mechanic that took it apart said they bypassed something inside my vehicle in a control to keep the compressor on. They also didn't replace some damper thing when they replaced all the hoses. Fun little tidbit, one of their techs was flying a fascist adjacent flag inside Firestone's business. Considering my car is covered in LGBTQ stickers, I hate to assume, but you never know these days. I was put into contact with the district manager, I've never spoken to a manager, let alone a district manager in my life. So thanks for that. He was a very nice man, but nothing was accomplished. I wanted my money back since they failed to fix my AC, but I was basically told it didn't matter & I wasn't getting a refund. Went to Firestone on 3/18/23 to get a state inspection for my new car purchased out of state. Firestone performed both the safety and emissions inspection. They failed my car because two O2 sensors, evaporator and condenser were not ready (my car only had 449 miles at the time of inspection, which included a 410 mile drive from Oklahoma). This is typical in new vehicles as they need to meet several driving conditions which include miles and speed to set those sensors. I received my inspection failure due to emissions and then drove to Covert Chevrolet in Hutto. I wanted to know what the procedure was to set my vehicle's O2 sensors as well as understand how they can sell new cars with 5-7 miles that do not have a chance to set their O2 sensors. Covert Chevrolet stated that emission tests are only required for vehicles that are 2 to 24 years old. New cars only have to pass the safety inspection. I called the Firestone in Hutto to confirm. I then called Firestone in Limestone and had them speak with Chevrolet. They stated that they didn't know what the requirement was, but agreed to sign off on the safety inspection. While they were updating the safety inspection paperwork, I looked up the state statute for emissions testing and was consistent with what I was told by Covert Chevrolet. Safety inspections are $7. Safety and emissions inspections are $18.50. I paid $18.50 for my earlier failed inspection. I had asked during my earlier phone call and the technician about my refund and they said I'd receive it, just speak to the service manager. The service manager was John Drozdyk. When I asked about my refund, he stated that I was lucky I was not charged for a second inspection. He stated that received two inspections. (A safety inspection was not conducted when I returned, the technician just removed the emissions portion from the inspection paperwork.) I explained the situation again because he didn't seem like he understood the situation. He stated in a loud voice to take take my inspection and leave, I was not going to get my refund. He said that when I asked for the inspection, he accused me of requesting an emissions inspection. (I had just asked for a state inspection for a new vehicle I purchased out of state. The inspector did not understand what the state laws were and assumed that all vehicles from out of state required an emissions test.) He then stated that I should've asked for a safety inspection and it was my responsibility as a customer to know these things. (I was a bit taken back by that statement as I am not making a living as a state auto inspector so I would assume he would have the advantage in asymmetric knowledge). I asked him why he was raising his voice at me. He replied he was not raising his voice. He then said you can get a refund but you're not going to get your paperwork. I stated that I wanted a refund. Once inside, after realizing that the safety inspection was registered in the computer, he said he would not give me the refund and told me to leave. I asked him if he understood that he had offered me the option of taking my inspection paperwork or getting a refund. He said I'm taking that back, take your paperwork and leave. He then then said "Get the F*ck Out of my Store." I then asked him why he was cursing at me. He then asked a fellow employee if he had cursed. He then gave me his card and told me to take it up to corporate. I left to try to de-escalate the situation as I was pretty sure we would not get to a reasonable discussion. I plan on filing fraud charges with my credit card company. The safety inspection shows $7. I was charged $18.50 by Firestone. I plan on filing with BBB for fraudulent charges by an auto repair company with intent to deceive the customer, even when state regulations were cited. I plan on filing with the DMV for an inspection station that does not have a proper understand of state regulations and improper implementation of state guideline fees for inspections. Also noted that John D. was mentioned negatively in many reviews and he still works there. read more

I was surprised when I was informed of my total and this charge included. Noe was very helpful and I understanding of the error made with not informing me of the price and provided a generous discount for the charge. Went there to get my Texas state inspection to get my tags and the guy charged me $129 for windshield wipers! I took my vehicle in for a tire repair on Tuesday morning, April 26th at 10am. I informed the technician I had tire warranty, they were able to find my information using my number. I explained the problem after every refill on air to my tires the light still wouldn't turn off, I believe I had a nail, they explained it could take up to 2 hours due to their business. I understood and left the vehicle there. 4 hours later (2 pm) after calling since I didn't hear back I was told it was 3 of my tire sensors not functioning and to replace them it would cost $300, but the tires were fine. I politely decline after speaking to my husband, my husband informed me he saw a nail on the front driver's side tire and marked where was at, I related the information to the tech, tech stated he will dip the tire in soapy water to find the leak. 4 hours later (6pm) I show up since I didn't receive a call. My vehicle was parked up front, the tech pulled up my account and started the balance was $52 for the Diagnostic. I was so confused, I asked what diagnostic? Tech replies you wanted to know why your tire light was on even after refilling your tires, I said no, I know my light was in due to an air leak. Tech then removes the fees for diagnosis. Then states how they found a nail on the front driver side tire and patched it up, and there was no charge due to my tire warranty. When I drove off I did see my tire pressure light still on, but when I arrived home, the tire pressure light was off, today May 2nd, and the light still remains off. So, with that being said, did Firestone really find my "3 tire sensors damaged, or was he trying to have me pay something that was not ever diagnosed or necessary? What was my vehicle doing there for 8 hours at the shop, (10am-6pm) If they inspected the tires before, why couldn't they have found it in the first place? The mechanics at this place are horrible and so the service staffs. I brought my car in for oil change and they fucked up my cat. I had to bring it back three times for them to get it right. Also, they lost the cover to the hood of my wife's car, I talked to John and he said that he'll check on the replacement part for me and will give me a call. But he did not. I stopped by and even called him several times. His response was that he forgot. After the last time I talked to him, I just gave up and go to another place. Ever since the Firestone 500 tread separation debacle when I was a kid in the 1970s, I have always tried to avoid the Firestone brand. My parents had a blowout with those tires, and I have been scared of them ever since! But, I was in a pinch a few weeks ago and desperate to find a mechanic on a holiday weekend when everything else was closed. I had my car towed to this location on a Sunday morning, and a few hours later they said they identified the problem and would be able to fix it. At least that's what I thought. The employee was not very communicative on the phone and sounded like I was inconveniencing him when I was asking him additional questions about the repairs. Fast forward to about 30 minutes before the store was closing. They never called and said my car was ready, so I showed up and they said they would definitely have it taken care of before they closed. About 15 minutes after closing, they said that the car had some error codes which they could not take care of, and I would have to take it to a dealer. They could not really fully explain what was going on. It sounded like they just wanted me to get out of there. I had to use my emergency roadside service again to have the car towed to a different, locally owned shop that I would have gone to if it had been open on a Sunday. The next day, the other shop took a look at my car and quickly figured out that it needed a new starter. It took an extra day for them to get the part, but once they did, they installed it in the car was fine. I wish I had never gone to Firestone in the first place. Lesson learned! But I do wish the Firestone employees well. While I was there to pick up my car, another customer was extremely angry and was verbally abusing the shop manager and the other employees. He was dropping F-bombs, and I had my hand ready on my phone in case I needed to call 911. But thankfully, the abusive customer left. No one should treat other human beings that way even if a business does a bad job. read more

I get my company vehicle maintained here. They accept ARI vouchers so if you have a fleet vehicle that you're responsible for maintaining, you should definitely check them out. I've never had any issues with drop off and or pickup but it does take them a little time to complete the service. I typically drop off in the morning and pick up in the afternoon. It's not really feasible to work there all day as the waiting area isn't super comfortable but it would be viable for a quick oil change or tire rotation. The staff doesn't "wow" be but they get the job done and are reliable and consistent. read more

I am honestly very disappointed with the service they provided two days ago. All I needed was to get new tires and an alignment. First they were trying to sell me the most expensive set of tires they have for my car ( my car is old and does not need expensive tires- common sense) when I tried to back out, the guy made me feel cheap for not taking his offer. I want something economical not expensive or flashy. I'm a college student with debt, I don't need unnecessary expenses. My car gets regularly check ups with my mechanic due to be an older car. Firestone called me and delivered a message stating I needed an oil change, one of rear lights was out and one of my engine belts were broken. Before I even took my car to their business, my car was running smoothly ( I knew about the rear light and oil change) but they had no business checking under hood. Thus, I only needed two things from them. Now my car is making a horrible noise from the engine and is gonna cost me more than I anticipated to spent. I'm pretty late to writing this review, as I usually wait a good while before submitting a bad review to give myself time to cool off, but this happened back in December. I got a flat tire (beyond repair) on my car so I ended up taking it in to get a replacement, and also got my state inspection done at the same time with an oil change. They got me all sorted and I went on my way. Driving home, I noticed that my ABS and emergency brake lights were on (emergency brake was 100% not engaged) when they weren't before. Figured they might turn off after a while. I get home and lock my car, but I noticed that the horn didn't do that little honk to let you know "yes, you did lock the car" so I get back in and try to honk my car's horn manually. No dice. It had been working before I took my car in to Firestone. So now I have my ABS and emergency brake lights staying on in my car AND my horn now no longer works. So I call Firestone and they tell me to bring it back in so they can charge me $20 to take a look. On a different day, I get my car back into Firestone. They take a look for a while and then come back with "Oh, well your brake pads are also worn down pretty low, so you should probably let us replace those for you. Also, we have no idea why your ABS and emergency brake lights are on and we don't know why your horn no longer works. But we can charge you $200 to have us diagnose things!" As this was pretty ridiculous, I told them no and to put my car back together. I can replace my brakes myself for a tenth of what they were asking (and I did). Lo and behold, what happened after they put my car back together and I drove it back home? My ABS and emergency brake lights were no longer on! Does my horn work though?! Nope. That didn't work. Huge disappointment. BUT the lights turning off showed me that it was definitely something Firestone did to my car to make them come on in the first place. AND they wanted to charge me to diagnose their mistake. My brakes are all still great, as I got those replaced and I'm happy that those two lights are no longer persistently on. But I still have no horn -- HUGE safety issue in my opinion. Thanks. So this Firestone took my car apart and messed a few things up, and didn't want to take any ownership of it. They just wanted me to pay them more money. Needless to say, I will never be giving this Firestone one more cent unless I don't really have any other feasible alternatives. I'm not sure why the people at this Firestone disabled my horn, but it's very frustrating. read more

Brought truck in to have tire plugged from a nail that was in tire. When I came to pick it up, the tire was put on backwards (white lettering on the inside when other 3 were on the outside). I showed this to the guy working there. He looked at all the tires. After seeing other 3 tires were showing white lettering, his response was: "Are you sure"?..........Just. Sad. I've used Firestone for multiple issues with my 2005 4Runner and have always had a pleasant experience. They have the most competitive pricing of any other auto care place around (including the dealership). I had to have my water pump replaced and they were $500 cheaper than the new Christian Brothers next to Wal-Mart!!! All the work they have done on my car has been done promptly and without any further issues. They are easy to schedule with and everyone in the shop is very friendly and helpful. Don't go here if you have an electric car. I had to get my registration sticker renewed so went here for the state inspection. The car passed inspection but the state won't accept their report because it's missing something about an emissions check. When I called to ask about this, I ended up getting some attitude from Archie who told me I could bring the car back in and they "could see what they could do". Not "we'll make this right and do an inspection the state will accept", just "we'll see". This did not happen when I got the car inspected at Jiffy Lube. I broke down 500 miles away from my home, the problem Was my alternator dying on me. This Firestone charged me 385 dollars for a refurbished one which goes for about 180 online. I asked why it was so expensive and the Mechanic, Jonathan, said it's expensive because we have markup, I told him the price of the alternator online was $180, he said so if it's cheaper do it yourself. I told him that I was stuck 500 miles away from any tools and he said that's why you're paying over $600 dollars to fix it. My fiancé and I have taken our vehicles here since it opened for oil changes mainly because we get a discount since he works in the same shopping center. About two months ago, I ended up with a nail in my tire, which they told me they were not able to patch/plug and tried to get me to buy a replacement tire. I was hesitant, since the tires were less than six months old, and I didn't want to buy another one if I could help it. I took it somewhere else who was able to patch it for less than $10 and it hasn't given me problems since. Fast forward two months, and I get a nail in a different tire. Yes, my luck is that good. I took it back to Firestone and explained that I wanted it PATCHED if at all possible. Of course, they tell me again that it can't be fixed and that I need to replace the tire. So, I take it to a mom and pop shop a few miles away and, like magic, they plugged the hole for $10. Needless to say I will not bring my car back for anything but a simple oil change. I went here once about a year ago to get a state inspection done. Was told it would take 30 minutes, with someone ahead of me, and it did. I was pleased. What a difference a year makes. I went to take my Subaru in for an oil change - Firestone refused to use my preferred synthetic that I brought with me, and were quite rude about it. Nonetheless, I figured I'd give them a second shot a few months later. I took my SUV in for an inspection sticker. There was one person waiting. I asked, after being ignored for 5 minutes, how long a state inspection would take. I was told, "About an hour." I replied, "Will it be more than an hour, or less?" The advisor got snarky. "Well if you're going to hold me to /exactly/ 60 minutes, then I'll just say 'about an hour.' I drove half a mile down the road, got my state inspection done at an indy shop in fifteen minutes flat. Will never take a car back to Firestone again. The one off 290 and 35 was just as bad, saying an appointment doesn't let you cut in line in front of others who got there before you. Collectively, I think Firestone needs to re-evaluate its hiring process and learn that they're in business to provide quality service, whether they're busy or not. Went in to get the state required check, and probably will not be going back. 1. Yes I understand you may not make any money doing the state check, that is not my fault, and would appreciate if you realize I did not make that decision. 2. Yes, I know my back light is a little funky, but it meets all state requirements, please stop threatening me that you are going to fail me. It seemed to be all better after I bought up the fact it meet the state requirements. 3. Just because I did not buy my tires from you, (they failed, and I'm ok with it) you don't have to treat me like a bad person. Just because I did not want to pay$428 for the two tires does not mean I'm less than a person. 4. When I come back after a few hours after the fixes have been made, you can still be nice to me. Just asking for my keys is not being nice. 5. When I give you clean paperwork, please return with out the hand prints in oil. I gave clean documents to you, and I got them returned back with large oil stains. That is just not cool. I guess if I bought my tires from Firestone, you might have been nice to me. So I took my car in to the Dealership for a minor recall on Saturday and had them look at some other possible repair items, making it clear that I wasn't interested in spending a lot that day or staying the whole day to wait on repairs. I got an estimate for tires and alignment and a noticeable amount of pressure to just agree to the estimate on a commodity item like tires. I went home and did a little research online, I went to my new local PFirestone in Pflugerville . . . on Sunday. M-F: 7:00am-7:00pm Sa: 7:00am-6:00pm Su: 9:00am-5:00pm Night and day experience between the dealership and this auto care center, as can be expected. It hearkens back to my neighborhood Firestone that kept me on the road in SoCal all those many years before. Back then they knew I was a student, that every dollar mattered and yet it was extremely important that I have transportation. I felt they took on a personal commitment to keep me on the road. Tires, alignment and inspection sticker for less than the dealership was quoting just the tires and in and out in under two hours. ***Update #2*** Originally I had my tailights custom tinted. After replacement my tailights no longer matched. Without the original packaging of the new tailight I was not sure on the brand. So I searched Amazon for one that looked like the newly purchased one. After receiving the product from amazon I noticed the product brand and model identification marks. After comparing the two I discovered that the one ordered through Firestone and Amazon was the same make and model. The only difference is that the one purchased from Amazon was a 1/3rd of the price. I can not blame Firestone for this because I am not aware of the company that they ordered it from, nor the price that Firestone paid. Also the tailight on Amazon was on sale. They apologized for the issue and the fact that I was not satisfied. They gave me an explanation on what happened and gave me a full refund for the maintanence. Due to the follow up customer service I avereged the review from 1 star to 3 stars ***original post*** The employees where nice with my experience but pricing is ridiculous. I partially blame myself for not getting an estimate before letting them do the work. I had to replace a tailight to pass state inspection. They told me the new tail light would be around $150. When I got the bill the tail light itself was $160. I said ok a little expensive but chalked it up to shipping. Then they charged me an additional $120 for removal and replacement. Having done this personally before, it takes no longer than 30min. So essentially I payed their entire staff minimum wage for a hour for a one man job that takes less than an hour. Someone in charge of Firestone's reviews contacted me about my recent experience. They got me in touch with someone at the actual location to go over my issues I had about my visit. There were some miscommunications that took place on not going over what I was to have done with my vehicle before it was done. My ticket had recommended services (since I scheduled the appointment online). In error, these recommendations were never communicated to myself. My issues were acknowledged and rectified. I was charged what I thought I'd be originally charged and refunded the amount that I felt I was overcharged. Thank you for making it a better experience in the end. read more

WATCH OUT FOR FIRESTONE AUTO CARE PFLUGERVILLE!!! I know its long but please read and share. thank you for your time. As a small business owner here in Pflugerville I know the importance of quality work and good customer service. As Person that believes in supporting the good trusted businesses out there I refer them like crazy as well as promoting the heck out of them. on the same token I believe the businesses that are BAD and dishonest should get their fair share of press for what they do. I have been a loyal customer of Firestone auto care for about 17 years. I have bought 8 sets of tires for 5 different cars of mine. I like the tires and the road hazard warranty. normally there are no major problems. a couple of minor things over the years but the store managers always seem to take care of it and make me a satisfied customer. Last week at Firestone auto care in stone hill Pflugerville. I took my try in to have a oil change, tire rotation and my lifetime alignment checked. I made a appointment 3 days prior they said it would be no problem the schedule was wide open and I could drop it off while I went to my meeting. I dropped it off at 11am and when I got back from my meeting at 1:15pm my truck was up on the lift. they had done nothing to it. they said that the truck was un-alignable that the lower ball joints are bad. and for almost $900 they would replace them. the guy asked would you like to have them replaced? I said no I would like to see the bad ball joints. They showed me. I said that's less than a millimeter of movement they are not bad. they disagreed, infant the mechanic was a little agitated that I said that and went as far at to pull out a micro meter and show me what a millimeter looks like. I had them rotate the tires and the oil change and left with a bad taste in my mouth. So I drove directly to my friend Jason's shop. He is the owner of Christian brothers Auto in pflugerville. they looked at it and said that the ball joints are not bad. so then just to cover my bases I took it to the chevy dealer and asked them. they agreed with Christian brothers. I Have a little experience myself with cars and tires. I started off my work days when I was 17 working at 2 goodyear tires and a peerless tire in colorado for nearly 4 years. I knew the ball joints where still good and they two honest businesses that I took it to confirmed that. Coincidentally I got a screw in one of my tires on Tuesday. so it was time to go in and get the tire warranted out. and have the ball joint discussion with the manager of the firestone shop. So I called and made an appointment for Thursday (yesterday) to bring it in during my weekly meeting again. I explained the whole situation to the manager Robert and he defended his guys as any business should until proven otherwise. I had explained that I was feeling like the Lifetime alignment I had paid for was maybe a scam to get peoples cars on the lift to receive repairs that are not really needed. of course he would not admit to that. but he said to bring in it and we can look at the ball joints together and they will fix or replace the tire. and went as far as to say if his guy was lying then he would fire him. So I brought it in yesterday. we get it on the alignment rack and the same mechanic is the one working on it. he puts the gauge on it to measure (not done last week just eyeballed it) the travel of the ball joint. after checking it his math the mechanic says its less than 1/2 a millimeter. (firestone Book says .5 mil. chevy said .9 mil) I respond to the manager you have options... 1. give me all my money back for the tires and lifetime alignments and I will go somewhere else with my business and you don't have to do anything to my truck. 2. replace the tire and give me the lifetime alignment money back and I will have my friends shop do it. or 3. take care of everything. I left to my meeting and came back at 1:15pm the truck was done. the manager says he still disagrees with me and the other two shops. and feels like the gauge was broken. then makes me pay the $39 on the prorated part of my tire. I explained that he has now lost a customer for firestone for life and and I will do everything I did before when I promoted the heck out of the tires and company, but in the opposite way now. PLEASE PLEASE do not get ripped off by this company like they tried to do to me. They are Dishonest and fit the scary stereotypes of bad mechanic shops!!! Watch out or get burned!! read more
