My recommended tires last less than 30K miles on my C300 Mercedes! And the same story when they replaced it first time! Buyer Beware!

Brought my 2014 Jetta in for an overdue oil change. $75 is more than I've paid in the past for synthetic oil. But, the mechanic noticed that the rim of my front right wheel was dented (hit a pothole 2.5 years ago and never did anything about it) and he hammered it out for no charge! I've been refilling the slow leak in that tire for years, and they fixed it just because they noticed it (and noticed the slow leak too). They also said they were running on an hour and a half wait but finished the oil change and the extra fix of the rim in 40 min. Thanks, Firestone!! read more

Firestone fixed the terrible and dangerous brake application done by my dealership. Ever since, these guys are my car go-to place. They are good about checking every little detail and the head manager makes sure its done right or, when they once had confusion over my electrical system, he did a full systems check for free. I would not be inclined to write a negative review unless my experience was particularly offensive. My husband took my Honda into Firestone located in McLean, Virginia. Reason being, a loud rattling sound on the right side of my Honda. Firestone's diagnosis: a bent resonating bar. The cost, $450. The added recommended repairs totaled $1350. My husband was not impressed!...I kept the printout. Wisely, we opted for a second opinion. Midas in Falls Church on Lee Highway had a totally different diagnosis...the rear heat shield needed replacement, which caused the loud rattling sound...$146.25, including tax. How many customer's of Firestone unknowingly were given a bogus diagnosis and payed the price. Unfortunately, car owner's are at the mercy of many unscrupulous car mechanics and their managers. Thank goodness, my husband and I were not "taken in" by Firestone in McLean. I advise car owner, to avoid this business. And, always get a second opinion, no matter the inconvenience. Went for oil change and tire rotation. Was told needed tires, brakes and struts. Drove off, felt a funny wobbling and heard a strange noise. Called to inform them, was told it was the wear on my tires and the bad struts and it would go away. Next day driving, not so much noise, until later. Got out to look for something loose. While checking, noticed a lug nut loose. Checked others on that tire, ALL five were easily removable even by a toddler. Jacked my car up to tighten. Took off still noticed. Checked other back tire. SAME thing! Emailed corporate. Told to take it in to check for anything wrong. Took it back and manager came out with torque wrench, tightened and said sorry. Will NEVER go there again and will definitely spread word about this. WORST Complete Auto Care I have ever been to. read more

This has to be the worst Firestone ever been to. They put an alternator in my car week later stopped working had to take it back took forever to fix. Went back because my battery died again they said I needed new wires. They have had my car a day in a half and still not done putting wires on a battery. They have no regards of your time. They don't have good customer service and they can't even fix things right the first time I need to get in contact with cooperate on how much money I spent here and not even satisfied with my service. read more

On 4/9 I went to Firestone with a screw in a tire since my tires were Firestone. The tire was not repairaable. After about twenty minutes I was told they did not have the tire but the Sterling store had four. When Sterling was called they said they had none. No other Firestone store had the tire (common tire). I was told maybe in two or three days (maybe). I decided to go to the Goodyear store around the corner. By nine the next morning they had my FIRESTONE tire and mounted and balanced it. Most interesting Goodyear could get my FIRESTONE tire but Firestone could not. read more

What good is an appointment if you can't keep it. I left work mid-morning, 20 min drive each way in the scorching sun to get my AC fixed. I get there and I get the "we are behind and we only have one AC guy". My appointment was set to wait, and not to leave the car. They asked if I can leave the car, so I asked if they had a car I can return to work with, and the obvious answer is no... They had no problem with me turning around and walking out... I'm sure they thought I'm the one being unreasonable. read more

This service center is up and down. They've serviced our two cars for the past few years but we've had problems the past six months leading us to consider switching to another company. Specifically, we had an appointment for 10am and dropped off our truck a few minutes early saying we'd wait for it since the key issue was a rumbling sound that may or may not need parts brought in from a supplier. When they hadn't called by 1:30pm we walked in and asked about the status of our repair. We were told they hadn't got to it yet but should do so by 2pm. We told them they should have told us to come in at 2pm if they didn't have time to get to it at our scheduled appointment. They apologized but that's 4 hours wasted and our truck still hadn't been serviced. Maybe it's time to go elsewhere. read more

Friendly staff, but they use shady business tactics to get you in the door. I knew my car's A/C system had a leak, so I called a couple places to ask about prices for diagnostic assessments. Both local dealerships quoted ~$150 to identify the leaky components, whereas Firestone said they could do it for $19.99. This sounded too good to be true, so twice on the phone and once in person I asked them to confirm that they would be able to tell me exactly which parts were faulty for just $19.99, and they said "yes, it should take about an hour." The service advisor explained that if the freon levels were low, they would inject dye in order to locate any leaks, but he never said anything about an additional cost for this. I agreed to the diagnostic and after only 10 minutes, the service advisor called me up to his desk and explained that I was low on freon (which I already knew, since the A/C was blowing well but the air was not cold), and that the next step in diagnosing the problem was a recharge with dye, which would cost me $169.99 plus tax. I obviously declined this since it is higher than the dealership price, and because the Firestone team was not honest about the total cost up front. I was still charged $20 for the day, and the description on my receipt is "A/C Performance Check w/ Dye," so frankly I'm not sure what I paid for. I'm not too distraught about wasting my $20, but more disappointed that they advertised a low price to get my foot in the door before revealing the much higher actual price. I've visited multiple Firestones in the past and have not had a problem like this before. read more

I have gone to them twice for an oil change, and service has been great. I recently hit a pothole and my tire pressure gauge came on, so I stopped by and asked if they might be able to help. They had me pull up front, checked the tires, refilled them to the proper PSI and explained why one of my tires probably had low pressure. They also gave me a new cap for the stem and didn't even charge for anything. Great, honest people. read more

I just moved to the area and when my car needed a tire fix they couldn't have been nicer! Very quick, honest and reasonable price. When I had a headlight go out took my car back and received the same great customer service. They will be getting my future business as well even if I have to drive a little farther. Do not take your car here. This is the worst Firestone Shop I have ever been too. They're incompetent. Not only did they not fix my problem, they actually suggested I take it to the dealer. This after having my car for 6 days. They said they did an inspection and then fixed the problem...but no. The car does the same thing. Be aware. Don't go here. Twice in a row they quoted me lower rates over the phone than in person. They refused to pass my car for safety inspections because of broken tie rods, which are a) not part of the inspection and b) were not broken. The prices are high and the service mediocre - these guys are just out for a buck. read more

Terrible. No time or schedule management skills at all. My car was supposed to be ready at 5 PM (closing time) on a Sunday afternoon -- the only reason I brought it in was for a simple, time-sensitive tire repair -- and it wasn't. The completion time then changed from 5:30, and then from 7 PM (after closing), to 8 PM (after closing), at which point I demanded my keys back. NOTE: the rep was still taking in cars at 4:45 PM for completion at the end of the same day, and mine had yet to enter the service bay! The business model seems to be built on taking in as many suckers as possible. Now I'll have to get this done on a Monday morning, when I should be working. I'll never do business with them again. read more

A long time member of Firestone, I have to say, this is the best one I've been to. Not only did they take a look at my car 30 minutes prior to closing, they also fixed it right then and there as well. The tech came and spoke to me several times to discuss the diagnosis and cost. He even showed me the broken part so I knew it was legit. It was the best customer service I have experienced at a Firestone, let along any other auto shop and I am definitely going back. read more

Today I'll make my 4th trip into the shop to (hopefully) have done what should have been done on visit 1 or 2. First visit= my tire not in stock, but they'll order and call me when it comes in.....no call. Second visit=did my tire come in?....oops, it was never ordered so we started again and set appointment to have tire changed so I wouldn't have to wait around while one tire is replaced and all tires rotated . Third visit=not enough technicians on site so I'll have to wait and they just put the tire on--did not rotate. I was told the tire inflation light was "blinking while it re-calibrated" but would go out in a couple of miles. Forth visit upcoming since tires were not rotated and light is still on. Called just now to make an appointment (allegedly so that I won't have to wait) but the phone rang 16 times before I gave up. Frustrated!! And Goodyear is just around the corner. read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. They replaced my battery last year and it only lasted 8 months before completely dying. When I went to have them replace this one, as it was under warranty, they would not give me all the paperwork associated with the warranty. They also hadn't performed the electrical test they had promised to ensure the new battery was any good. Instead of trying to fix this, the manager Tony yelled at me saying I had an attitude and that I should leave the store. They had also told me I needed various replacements, such as a new serpentine belt, and turns out mine was in great condition. BIG SCAMMERS. read more

Good price on four tires, insanely overcharging on other parts. For example: they charged $154.99 for one engine mount. It's retailed at $30.79. They charged $89.99 for a rear disc brake rotor. It's retailed between $45 and $61. I understand I should pay extra since I did not purchase the parts myself, and this is what happens when their suppliers overcharge them, but they're charging between 2 and 5 times market value for parts, in addition to $100/hour in labor. To add to the insanity, they charged $62.50 in labor to install a high mount light bulb as part of my state safety inspection. Won't do business with them again. read more

I work one day per week next door to this Firestone and have taken my car(s) there several times out of convenience but I will never do it again. I brought my Ford there several times to fix a headlight, and more than once the headlight didn't work, and was just sold bulbs over and over. I took it to someone else who said there was a bad wire and fixed it. Still, everyone makes mistakes and I went back to the them yesterday to replace a headlight in my Honda. I left the car, paid for the repair, and when I picked it up after dark neither headlight worked. Good grief. I managed to catch the last guy there before the shop closed, and he wanted me to bring the car back the next day, which was not convenient at all since I don't live in McLean. I called the following morning to ask for a refund, since I was now needing to get it fixed closer to where I lived. I gave them my credit card number and yet no refund came. When I called them just now, they said the money was refunded, but when he repeated my credit card number, it was not my number and so they credited my money to someone else. When I asked them to refund it to me, they said they couldn't because they already refunded it, even though they know they refunded it to the wrong person. Enough is enough, I am never going back. read more

I called the day before looking for 3 new tires to match the 4th which was just replaced as a result of an accident. I was told they had my tires in stock and made an appointment for the following morning to have my tires replaced. I made the appointment because I planned to wait for it. We only have one car and I figured how long could it take the replace 3 tires. My car was not even put on the lift in the garage until 45 minutes after my appointment time. 30 minutes later I was told that they couldn't find my tires and would need to go get them in Springfield (that's an hour roundtrip at least). You would think that since I made the appointment the day before and had already been in their shop for an hour and 15 minutes that someone would have thought to see if they actually had my tires. I mean my car was up on the lift before anyone thought to look for my tires. Incompetence is an understatement at this point. I will say that the reason I made the appointment in the first place was because they had the most competitive prices of the 3 places I called in the area. That being said I would rather pay more for quality and reliable service any day. read more

Just needed one of my Firestone tires patched. The entire staff was extremely rude and deceiving. After telling them I will be waiting for my service, they completed more than three vehicles customers that had dropped off their vehicles after me. Finally after 1.5 hrs. of waiting my car is pulled into one of the bays. The mechanics seemed to be intrigued by my vehicles lights and kept touching them with their oily gloves. Another hour passes by before my tire is patched and almost half an hour before I get my keys back, at which point I noticed deep scratches all around my brand new rims. Luckily I always take pictures of my vehicles before getting services done at shops. I asked to speak to the manager Scott, who tried to say there is no way to know who caused the scratches but luckily my dash cam was running the entire time and my pictures of the rim before the service were saved. I will have my lawyers calling this establishment very soon. read more

December 22nd at 5:30 was cold, rainy and there was traffic everywhere. My family was all loaded up in the car and we were trying to get to Michigan, but while stuck in traffic my tire light goes off. It's too warm for the tires to have deflated enough to trigger the alarm, so I turn around and stop at the Goodyear store, which came up first on my Google Maps search from 123. We pull in, they're unfriendly and clearly want to go home..."Sorry, but you can leave it here until tomorrow." We leave and decide to grab something to eat. Discouraged, we see the Firestone sign and pull in to see if we'll get the same answer there. Omar is busy, but recognizing our dilemma says he'll get us up on a lift to investigate. My fears are confirmed: Shamal tells me there's a screw in the tire, but even though he's supposed to be going home, he'll stick around to get it fixed. We pulled away less than an hour from arriving with a $20 bill for the repair, and $1,000 worth of great service came for free. I live within blocks of two tire places, but guess where I'm coming for my next set of tires, or other maintenance work, for that matter? This store. and it's all because of Omar and Shamal. Grateful for great service!! read more
