I'm extremely disappointed with Firestone's handling of my warranty situation. I purchased tires from Firestone under the 90-day buy-and-try satisfaction guarantee, which clearly states that I should be able to return or exchange the tires if I'm not satisfied. Here's the problem: I tried to return them three separate times within the 90-day window, but every time I went in, they didn't have the tire in stock. I was told to come back later, and each time, they still didn't have it. Now I'm just six days past the 90-day period, and they're telling me the warranty no longer applies--despite the fact that it was Firestone's own inventory and scheduling issues that caused the delay in the first place. This is not just frustrating--it feels dishonest. I played by the rules. I made multiple good-faith attempts to resolve this within the warranty period. Now Firestone is hiding behind a technicality that they created. If this is how they stand by their "satisfaction guarantee," then it's clear that the warranty is more of a marketing tactic than a real promise. This is the kind of experience that makes customers lose trust. I'm asking Firestone to do the right thing and honor the warranty. If they don't, I'll make sure others know to think twice before relying on their guarantees. read more

I replaced my steering rack and pinion myself and needed a wheel alignment afterward. Joshua found a transmission leak and was super helpful. The alignment came out perfect, he even fixed my slightly off center steering wheel. Another shop told me I would also need to calibrate the steering angle sensor and pay extra for it, but here they did not mention it and it was not needed. Everything turned out great. The price was very reasonable. Unlike other shops like Midas that told me to fix part of the problem myself, which is completely ridiculous, he handled everything so my car drives straight now. They did it very quickly too I called ahead and had everything done while I waited in just about an hour to an hour and a half. I will definitely come back again. #23 /2023 So here we are last time I reviewed this was in 2016 almost 7 years ago. Back again. Had a charging issue where I parked the Durango near where I am. Battery wasn't holding a charge properly it kept on draining. So I got it jumped off and brought it up. I had called prior and they said they do charging tests which is fine. So they did a full charging test on it and they came back and told me yes the battery definitely is weak it wasn't even that old. But there's another problem the alternator is dying. Now one thing I do know this wasn't trying to scare me into something I didn't need why do I know I bought this vehicle in 2005 it's a 2003 the alternators never been changed 19 and a quarter years guess what it finally decided to start giving up the ghost pretty damn good. So they did a test and they showed it to me said here you can see here the alternator is not charging properly it's very weak and then they did a battery test and showed me the battery is definitely low. Got a quote for the alternator and then a quote for the battery but I didn't need the battery because it was under warranty brought from another place. So for about 500 bucks including a new belt it wasn't bad what I really liked about it was Sal took care of me really well. I didn't have an appointment I showed up I waited about a total of two and a half hours and they had me out the door I couldn't beat it. They did have to jump in a couple of times do to get it out but that's okay cuz I was bringing it home parking it jumping it one more time and then getting the battery replaced under warranty. This isn't the first time I had work done here and it won't be the last I look at some of these reviews and I'm not too sure I don't really get biased on other people's reviews I just sometimes have to wonder but for my experience I'm leaving it with a full five bar of Stars across the board I couldn't have been more satisfied. A nice caveat to the whole thing they told me would you like to try to get the credit card then you won't have to pay anything today I said sure So I hadn't had a hard credit report ran for quite a while I got approved got it paid everything's done and now I got a firestone charge card with a nice little charge line on it so everything's all good. Once again thanks to Sal & the guys for not only getting it done doing a good job not trying to sell me something I didn't need and the best part about it not having a appointment when it was kind of busy but getting me in and getting me out. read more

This location is nothing more than a den of thieves!!!!! I brought my car in for an appointment. My work was done 3 hours later. Where's the problem? Or I should say PROBLEMS? See below: - my car sat outside their building for 2 1/2 hours and charged me for 3 hours of work. - VERY high pressure as far as offering add on's and services. - contacted BBB and STILL didn't respond. Same with the parent company, Bridgestone. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE PLAGUE!!!!!!!!!!! Places like Christian Brothers & GTM Automotive (to name two) are MUCH better places for repair and services. I brought my car in for a wheel alignment check. When they were finally done, they told me they did a wheel alignment, which costs more. I wasn't too upset because they said it some parameters were out of spec so it needed the alignment done anyway. I paid and then I looked at the alignment report and the front left camber and the cross camber were still red after the work was done. I asked about it and they brought in the mechanic who said that there was an extra 5% margin on the camber beyond the specified range. I did not think that made any sense because why would they not just add that to the acceptable range. 5 percent of what? I felt that the mechanic was not being straight with me. The manager then told me that it was under warranty so I could take it back later to get it redone. Why should I need to do that? Because I thought they were not being honest with me, I contacted the customer support for Firestone. Eventually the store called me back and said they would put the car up on the alignment machine and see what was wrong. I brought the car back in. They were going to look at it but then they came back to me and said they were refunding my money. When I asked why, they said that they are not equipped to do the wheel alignment on my car. I was happy to get my refund and be out of there, but it makes me wonder. The reason that I went there in the first place was that I went to their website, and went to the wheel alignment section. It prompted me to put in the year, make, model and other details about my car and after I did that, it showed me the price. Why would their website do that for a car that they can't do a wheel alignment on? Furthermore, when I took my car in the first time, why didn't they tell me then and there that they could not do the work on my car? They wasted my time and their own time by not doing that. The long and short of it is that I think they were lying to me about something and they wasted my time. I am also annoyed that they did a full alignment without asking me first. I am at least happy that they refunded my money, but my time was wasted, and I would rather that they had never touched my car. read more

Firestone messed up my car, didn't do the comeplete replacement of the oil pan, still had pre existing seal had to go to Midas across the street to fix it. They are going to push a credit card on you only to up the charge and max it out. If you are on Route 53, go to Midas instead. read more

Came in for new front tires, Sal the Manager, was extremely nice and took care of it. He went above and beyond to take care of my vehicle and the safety of my family. Very informative about what needs to be done and clearly understands customer service is the highest priority. Highly recommend Firestone here in Bolingbrook. read more

TLDR: 3 things you should expect before you drop off a car: estimate for work done, expectations about when its done, and a time line for when you should get the first call. (I got none of these from this crew). 8:29am Thursday: I call and Marge tells me that have plenty of openings for the next day. I tell them then that it has at least 2 bald tires, a bad turn signal, and is ready for an oil change. 11am Friday: I drop off the car. No dollar estimate, no time estimate, no call to check in estimate. (this is the point that I should have taken my keys back). Marge assures me that a turn signal bulb change is not a big deal. 5:13pm Friday: I call because I have not heard from them. Bob picks up but has no idea about my car, transfers me to Marge. Marge says it will be done before close. 6:58pm Friday: I call again because its an hour before close and I have a 20-30min walk back to the shop. Bob tells me that they are "working on the oil change right now". I ask him about the tires and he says they haven't looked at them yet. They should know in the next 5-10min. 7:07pm Friday: The first time that they call me. Bob sees how bald the tires and recommends replacing all 4. And he also lets me know that replacing the turn signal bulb is $90 worth of labor because they have to take the head light assembly out. And of course they don't have enough time to do all the work before the shop closes. I've lost enough time and am paying for the tires just so it can be done. Customer service and communication were worthless today. This sucks because I have had better experiences here. 8:54am Saturday: I call because they have been open since 7 and I haven't heard a damn thing. Tanya picks up and checks in on the car. "They are working on the tires now." And she assures me that the car will be done before noon. read more

Got run off the highway onto the shoulder and blew both passenger side tires in a pothole. The Tow driver from AAA recommended Firestone over AA Darien and I agreed to go since at least Firestone had a brand reputation I know of and tow driver said the other place was sketchy. When I got there, the service manager looked in the system and said they had the right size tires for my car and it would be a little over $400. I said great let's do it. Once They had my car up and without wheels, an employee called me up to the counter because they did not actually have my tires in any regular tire and could/would only sell me FireStone premium tires at $100 extra. My grandmother was dying and I was headed to see her which is why I was on the road in the first place, on a time limit as she wasn't going to make it 24 hours, and I couldn't really have it towed anywhere else so I was trapped and scammed into saying yes. Additionally, they could only take cash or keep your card information on site because their card reader was down. They only get a star for fitting me in same day and allowing my Jack Russel mix to sit inside with me since it was 30°F and sleeting rain. 30 minutes after service: When I left the building everything was good. I then drove 30 miles on my way out of state. The tire pressure sensor came back on. I turned around and drove back as they asked me to when I called to ask why. When I got there, the employee said that their notes showed it was on when I got to the building after blowing my tires. Of course it was. They "checked the issue out as a courtesy, no charge" only to tell me that the first time I came through, they saw my tire sensor was broken, turned it off and failed to tell me. They offered to have me "stick around for a little longer to see if they had the part. They could replace it". This place is such a scam and a money grab. They have now responded to my review saying they care about negative experiences and to email them but had they cared, they would have taken off the premium charge for their error and given me all the information the first visit so I didn't have to turn around and waste more of my time to try and get more money for another service they failed to disclose was a problem in the first place. Update 3/3: On 2/26 Their "Customer Service Rep" had emailed back in response to the survey they wanted so badly. I was told they would have management respond within two business days. A week later, they send me ANOTHER survey. They obviously don't value keeping to their word or timeliness either. I additionally selected an email contact as I work 10 hour shifts most days. So what did Sal, the store manager, do? Call to say He'd like me to come in so He can do something for me with no specifications as to what. Absolutely absurd. Final update 3/7: I called and spoke to Sal who finally resolved that things "never should have happened like this" and was "Very sorry for the impression they gave me that night". He refunded the difference "as they should have done to begin with" and hopes I'll be back so they can give me a more positive experience. Absolutely not. Like Sal himself said they should have resolved this the same night and should have done their due diligence, but chose not to. Consider that heavily before bringing your car anywhere near this establishment. read more

Explanation was the labor charge was tacked on, as well as being backed up 1-2 hours from a customer rush. One - being backed up shouldn't influence the price, two - $100 for labor charge for a bulb replacement? Never heard of such a thing even at the dealer. Complete degenerates work here. Popped a tire at about 7 AM and unfortunately this was the only shop with tires open. When calling to ask if they have my tire in stock the manager on duty Muhammad gave me nothing but attitude and just kept saying "come in and we'll talk more." I made it very clear I would only come in if the tires were in stock as I had to be in Grand Rapids for a business expo later in the day. Of course 3 hours later my truck has yet to be put on a lift and come to find out the tire had to be ordered. Zero honesty at this location. The cheapest tire they had was marked up to $300 from 200 and after the install it came out to $400. The tire new tire itself came covered in dirt and small cracks from dry rot. Clearly a very old tire that sat around for years. The TPS sensor was not properly installed on this tire and will not display my psi. They also don't air up all the tires nor check fluids even though they were looking under my hood for a suspiciously long time. You're much better off visiting one of the many local shops surrounding this. read more

We went into the Firestone store and spoke with a Lovely Lady who said that she would help up out as soon as possible. She was very busy but got us on our way after a short period of time. Never again. Called on Wednesday to see if they could do a recommended service and was told I could drop it off and they'll do it. Before I went to work I dropped off the key in the lock box with instructions on envelope and called 2 hrs later. Car wasn't looked at yet and told the guy what was previously recommended and he said they'll look at it. Mind you Firestone recommended this work. I called back 2 hrs later to see how everything was going/went assuming at this point they would have started or done the job only to find out they are recommending a whole slew of services minus what was already recommended and the tech doesn't recommend the previously recommended service to be done. I said forget it and told them I'll talk to them in a bit. I go in an hr and a half later on my lunch only to see my car still up on the lift. The manager kept telling me that the previously recommended work doesn't need to be done and after waiting 40 min for my car to be off the lift he gives me an estimate for $1,386.09 worth of services. My first turn and I hear a bunch of tinging sounds coming from my car. Lug nuts. Thanks firestone specifically Sal and Kirk! After this experience people were telling me all kinds of horror stories about them and they won't do warranty work if they can get out of it and this was warranty work. 2.3.2016 update The original recommended service has been completed, however, not by firestone. I have pictures to show how they are. Obviously I cannot trust the Bolingbrook Firestone but the Wheaton Firestone on Butterfield was correct that they did need replacing. Wheaton had mentioned the bushings were going bad and Bolingbrook Sal never mentioned the bushings and only showed me the rusty metal parts. I was able to get my lug nuts replaced through a warranty since I had just purchased them. The cause was improper placement of their impact drill. My normal tech showed me exactly where Kirk had placed it then started drilling them back on. Oh and my normal tech said that I did not need all of the Bolingbrook's recommended services and most of them are under warranty through him so he is glad I am smart enough to not get ripped off. read more

We love the employees at this location. Angel C., I believe is his name, is wonderful! My 4-year-old son was intrigued with everything that was going on in the mechanics' section. My son calls them the "car doctors" and if you think about it, they are car doctors :) Mr. Angel C. was nice enough to explain my son why cars are lifted. I've never seen my boy so impressed. I go to Firestones regularly because they have been especially good to me at the location near my house (Matteson, IL) but because I was in the area, I called this place from my parents home in Naperville, IL because I needed a quick oil change (I only had about an hour to knock this out). The lady who answered the phone was Tonya or Tanya and she very sweetly told me that they were wide open and that she would be able to "get me in right away!". So I left the house and drove the 10 mins to this location and as soon as I got to the counter, she told me that she could have me in the shop in 1 Hour or 1.5 Hours. When I brought up the phone call, she curtly told me that she remembers our chat and that she told me that she "can fit me in" today, which is completely different from "get me in right away". Totally deceptive customer service which served to cunningly get me to walk through the front door of this location. It will never happen again. For me, or the rest of my family....Luckily, the Romeoville Firestone is only 20 mins away from this place so thats where im going next :) read more

I would give a zero star rating, but Yelp doesn't allow that. Would not recommend. I brought my car in for an alignment after hitting a raised man hole cover in a construction zone. First attempt they got the toe dead on, wheel was straight as an arrow, but the wrong model vehicle was used so the caster angle was not correct resulting in a slight pull still. Brought it back the next day for them to fix it and now the steering wheel is crooked and the vehicle pulls horribly. They gave me a refund, but now my vehicle is worse than when I initially brought it in!!! read more

The service at this location is unbelievably poor. So poor that a persons safety is at risk if you allow this location to work on your vehicle. I have brought in multiple cars to this Firestone. Each experience was the same. Friendly and professional at the desk but incomplete and negligent work done under the hood with minimal accountability when questioned. PERFORMED EXCESSIVE AND UNAUTHORIZED REPAIRS. I'm very sorry that I have to enter this review. About 20 years ago Firestone in general had a reputation for overcharging for repairs and I'd been reluctant to go there ever since. However, using both Yelp and Angie's List, two years ago I found that this particular Firestone had gotten good reviews, and on a few occasions since then I brought my car to this facility and received good service. I thought I had found a trustworthy auto repair shop near my home. This changed drastically, starting several months ago. Unfortunately, in Spring of 2016 I brought my wife's car here for brake repair and was disappointed that they found the needed repair was more extensive than expected (replacement of rotors rather than just cutting them) and they found some additional problems to repair. All in all it more than doubled the repair price. At the time I still trusted this location and thought it was just my bad luck that the car needed more repair than I originally expected. A discussions with a mechanic friend from out of town made me question whether all the repairs were needed, but I had no solid evidence and retained my hope of having a trusted mechanic nearby! Today, I brought my own car in, again for work on the brakes, which just this morning had given the first signs of being worn (that grinding sound they use as a warning). It's important to note that I had the car at the dealer for an inspection 3 weeks earlier and they had indicated that the brakes were getting worn but, depending on driving conditions could last a while longer. The dealer, never conservative when recommending repair or upkeep, found everything else to be properly maintained and in good condition. When Firestone today called with a status, they wanted to replace the brake rotors as well as the pads, stating that the rotors couldn't take another cutting. I explained that my brake rotors had never been cut and there was no chance they had been damaged now so I just wanted the pads replaced. This Firestone also claimed I needed an oil change, two new front tires plus an alignment, two new engine belts, an engine coolant flush, and a new cabin air filter. I explained that I had had the oil changed and air filter replaced last week. I reminded them that they had already replaced my front tires and done an alignment about 7,000 miles ago. The cost of the brake pads I needed would be about $500, the cost of all recommended repairs would be around $2,300. Knowing that not everything recommended was needed, but also wanting the brakes fixed to avoid rotor damage, I authorized only the brake pad replacement. Adding insult to injury, four hours later they hadn't called so I called them to check the status. The repair was done, they hadn't gotten around to calling yet. I asked for the total, and was told $910. When I questioned the amount they stated the rotors had to be replaced after all. I requested that the old rotors be kept for me to take so I could see them myself and the woman on the phone agreed. When I arrived and paid for my car I asked where the old rotors were. The same associate who I talked to on the phone said that she hadn't understood and so the rotors had been discarded and I wouldn't be able to see them. So, any evidence I might have had to make a claim against them was lost, but thankfully Yelp may help others to avoid this place. I certainly won't return. read more

They forgot to put oil in the car after oil change. Need I say more. They only put in 2 quarts not the 5 quarts required. Car engine sounded like a diesel knocking and pinging. I did not check oil level when I left as I normally do as it was winter and during the sub zero cold snap. Owner of shop was unhelpful when contacted about resolving this issue and claimed no responsibility. I think they have greenhorns doing the oil changes. Then when I tell the guy at the counter that he didn't " have to be a dick and leave me out in the rain" he says he's not going to service my vehicle. I'll never go to then again. ZERO STARS!!!!!!!! This company is ridiculous. They damaged my car, with noticeable damage. I had before and after pictures (because I saw some terrible reviews of their service). Store manager told me to drop off a quote. He admited it was damaged. I waited three months got no word. The district manager was supposed to call me. Never did waited a week. NOTHING. I called customer service they told me the regional manager would call me with in the week....NOTHING. I sent an email they said the corporate manager would be in contact with me in 1-3 business days . Five days later I finally get a response. They then take no responsibility for the damage and offer me a "good will payment"(1/3 or my quote) Honestly don't waste 4 months of your life with this company. Take your car somewhere else.
