The heat shield was rattling a lot, so they clamped that down but I was looking at a few thousand dollars in repairs. Their suggestion was to start shopping for a new car as mine is 12 years old. The thing is that I'm not ready to part with her. No new car currently on the market stirs the same passion in me the way my current car does. I look at her (yes, it's a her and named Eponine) and I still feel like a proud owner. After looking at reviews, I saw that this shop was getting solid reviews and decided to give it a shot. Going forward, whenever I can, I'm going to choose Kirk over the dealership. The price I was quoted for the work was reasonable and the work was done in a very timely manner. I am very happy with the work and even happier that I feel like I've found a place that can help me keep Eponine around for many more years.

I decided to give them another chance. Clearly a mistake. I made an appointment on the website for 8:00am to get my check light checked and see why it's running rough. Arrived 5 minutes early and the store was dark. Called the store number, spoke to a guy who said he would check, then left me on hold for 12 minutes, then cut me off. Called again and was speaking to a woman for a few minutes when someone showed up. Both people on the phone said that they don't open until 9:00, but the website says 8:00, took my reservation, and I even got text reminders. See the screen shot of the website. So I waited until 10 minutes after 9:00 and finally approached the counter and was told that they were waiting on their "diagnostic guy" and could not do anything until he arrived. At that point I took my keys and left. The poor service and level of indifference is unacceptable for any business. The (I guess) manager (Reid) could not have been less concerned that I had been waiting well past the appointment or that the website (and underlying appointment function) does not work. By the way, if you are going to park people in the waiting room, try cleaning it sometime. I will be in touch with Pep Boys corporate this week.

On my way out the door this past Thursday, I discovered a sheet metal screw in my rear driver's side tire and had to cancel a $80+ batch that I had picked up and was in panic-mode in an attempt to find and get to a tire repair facility before my tire went completely flat. Luckily, God was with me that day and I happened to be less than a mile from the Doraville store and managed to limp in there with just enough air in my tire to avoid damage to the wheel itself. As soon as I walked in the store, one of your young associates, Saul, looked at me and I think could read the desperation on my face, and he asked what he could help me with. Saul was professional, friendly, courteous, and immediately assessed the situation and assured me that he would get me back on the road within the hour, which he did, and for which I am eternally grateful! Thank you to Pep Boys and to Saul for being there when I needed you and for taking such good care of me. One constructive comment before I go. I have noticed that the automotive repair industry as a whole has a challenge keeping their stores / facilities in good working order and repair, and Pep Boys Doraville store is no exception. The young group of associates who work in this location, along with the customers who come here, deserve better - a nicer, cleaner facility. I'm not sure who runs facilities for Pep Boys, but you would be doing yourselves a huge favor by implementing a system wide renovation program, followed by a well-funded ongoing repair and maintenance program. Set yourselves apart from the completion, and capitalize on your well-established name and good real estate locations.

Yes, the papers were from today. Not just this year or this month, they were printed today. Whoa. Thank you guys! When I went outside after the service, I immediately noticed a lug nut was missing. After looking closer, I saw that the wheel stud itself was broken - which I know for a fact was not damaged prior to the repair. When I contacted the mechanic about it, he did not deny breaking it and asked me to go purchase a new stud and lug nut, which I did right away. He said he would return to install it, but after that point communication became very unreliable. I texted several times with no response. When he finally replied "yes" to confirm he would complete the repair, he still never followed through. Since then, my messages have gone unanswered. On top of that, he told me the broken stud was "no big deal" and that he knows someone who drives around with multiple broken studs - which was extremely concerning to hear from someone responsible for vehicle safety. I don't feel comfortable driving with a broken wheel stud, and the situation has been left unresolved. I wish this could have been a positive review, but based on the lack of accountability, poor communication, and safety concerns, it cannot be.
