So I'm going to list this in pros and cons and explain as I go…read more Pros: + Awesome waiting area - I've been in a lot of auto shops before, and waiting areas are important, but often not paid much attention to when it comes to auto repair shops. I mean, I have been in shops where the waiting room was literally a couch on the side of the garage. This is a tragedy because auto repair usually takes quite some time, especially if they have to order parts for your vehicle. This place, though, has a beautiful waiting area. A water cooler, several nice chairs, a children's play area, a large screen TV, several magazines on topics other than cars, including TIME magazine. There was also a nice bathroom for anyone waiting a while like I was. And on another note, in the bathroom I saw a drawer labeled "feminine products." In an auto shop? It blew my mind. + Good service - I called 3 different auto shops when I was looking to get my brakes done. This one was the only one that actually picked up the phone. They had a regularly manned front desk. The main person who handled the back and forth between the mechanics and me seemed to be knowledgeable about the mechanic side, but also able to deal with customers with ease, which is rare. The rain also started to pick up as I left, so he let me leave out the back instead of having me walk in the rain to my car. + Clean auto shop all around - Not only was the waiting area clean, but the auto shop itself was as well. + Fair pricing and knowledgeable mechanics - All labor and parts are broken down on your bill, and if there is extra work that needs to be done, they will discuss it with you first. It was also nice that they managed to get a picture to show me of the part that needed to be replaced, so I knew they weren't just making stuff up. Cons: + Limited parking at the office - There are only three parking spaces before the mechanic's yard. Two were used when I got there. If anyone had arrived after me, I don't think they would've had anywhere to really park unless they went directly into the yard. In general, this auto shop was very good. For most, the experience would've rated fantastic, however, I'm particularly picky when it comes to auto repair shops. Before I moved to Atlanta, I had a regular mechanic in Oklahoma who was better than any other I've ever had. He was the kind that walked you out to the garage to show you all the problems in person that he found with your car. He also did the job in half the time in comparison to most repair shops. Had he repaired my car on this occasion as well, if I know him, he would've told me the extent of the repair within the first 15 minutes that he was working on the car, and likely had the repair done within two hours. In comparison, it took over an hour and a half for this shop to even ask for my consent for the bulk of the repairs and another 2 and half hours to complete. By industry standards, this shop is still very good, and would be rated probably as one of the best in the area. However, its still not on the same level as the auto shop I had in the past. Therefore, it still left me feeling less than completely satisfied.

Always the best. Costs a little more but extremely worth it. Fantastic service. Great quality…read morerepairs. Timely communication.

Several weeks ago I came in for an oil change and knew their was a problem with my exhaust system. Jay showed me the exhaust problem (corrosion and rust) and told me that he didn't do that kind of work and I needed to go to a muffler/exhaust place. Jay was thorough and efficient. I actually thought that his price was rather low and told him. I asked if I could give him a tip and he refused so I gave him a hug instead. I will gladly go back if I need a car repair

Dear Jay, thank you for restoring my faith in humanity. They either don't know what they're doing or they knowingly overcharge anyone who "looks" naïve or vulnerable. Read - seniors or women unaccompanied by their husbands or fathers. Because this is 1950, eye roll.. Jay is the real deal. Yes, Apna Garage is a modest shop tucked away behind a gas station. But how many mechanics have a legit 5 star Yelp rating? I'll wait.. The reason is because no-one is as honest, humble or as kind as Jay is. You can drop off your car which is very convenient. Jay diagnosed mine and explained everything in plain English without being patronizing. He's very responsive to messages, gave an honest assessment and didn't try to overcharge or upsell me. He even rode in the car with me to make sure I was comfortable driving it and that my needs were met. In short, Jay will be my mechanic for LIFE. 100% recommend. Thanks Jay!

Who knew Atlanta weather could be so ... wintery? I was braving myself to make the drive to work…read moreand noticed that I had a nail stuck in my front passenger tire. It didn't seem too bad but with the icy roads, I wanted a quick fix. I stopped by Garmon Auto Service because it was a convenient location. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes - with no appointment - and it only cost $7 to get my tire plugged. Will definitely be back for all routine car service treatments. Thanks guys!

I brought my 1999 Nissan Pathfinder (263k miles, yes I know it's an old car but prior to sending to…read morethem it drove beautiful) to Garmon twice in September for a stalling problem. First visit was $1,724.64 for a distributor replacement. It didn't fix it. Second visit was $311.35 for a crankshaft position sensor. It was a gamble on the diagnosis and it didn't help. After that one, the truck wouldn't even start. When I called to ask about a partial credit, I was told only the owner could authorize it. When I called back I got Gus again. He's a good guy, just the messenger in all this. I feel bad he works for a coward of an owner. The owner wouldn't get on the phone with me. Very rude and unprofessional in the background of the call. I heard him in the background tell Gus after asking to talk to him, "what the f**k do I need to talk to him for." He also said, "I am not putting any more f**king parts on that car." The offer was $70 back... They called it half the labor, but that's only half of the $140 sensor labor only. They left out the $70 relearn charge on the same invoice. They said they'd give me more if I brought the truck back in with the part so they could take it back. The truck doesn't run now. I understand it's an old vehicle and repairs don't always work on the first try. But I paid $2,036, the problem was seemingly misdiagnosed, never fixed, and I was treated with complete disrespect when I asked them to make it right. I won't be back and recommend you NOT bring your vehicle here.
