[[HIGHLIGHT]]Although they were late opening, the mechanic who did the work was pleasant enough and the work seemed okay, ultimately it did not fix the problem.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I decided to give them another chance. Clearly a mistake. I made an appointment on the website for 8:00am to get my check light checked and see why it's running rough. Arrived 5 minutes early and the store was dark. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called the store number, spoke to a guy who said he would check, then left me on hold for 12 minutes, then cut me off.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Called again and was speaking to a woman for a few minutes when someone showed up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Both people on the phone said that they don't open until 9:00, but the website says 8:00, took my reservation, and I even got text reminders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] See the screen shot of the website. So I waited until 10 minutes after 9:00 and finally approached the counter and was told that they were waiting on their "diagnostic guy" and could not do anything until he arrived. At that point I took my keys and left. The poor service and level of indifference is unacceptable for any business. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The (I guess) manager (Reid) could not have been less concerned that I had been waiting well past the appointment or that the website (and underlying appointment function) does not work.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] By the way, if you are going to park people in the waiting room, try cleaning it sometime. I came into an empty shop right after 1:00 PM to get the oil changed on my rental vehicle. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The service person at the desk was on the phone having a hard time trying to give someone an estimate for service over the phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I waited patiently as it appeared he was u sure how to complete the task. [[HIGHLIGHT]]After waiting 10 min I explained to him that I was here to get an oil change on my National rental car vehicle. He asked me for a contract number. After that he submitted the request, he said I had to wait for approval. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called National Rental car and told them I was waiting on approval. She stated that approval is automatic . I told the Pep Boys rep what she said and he said let me know check again, all of a sudden he says oh it's approved now[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. A whole hour later. So now I have been waiting 30 min for an oil change, looking at my vehicle with the mechanics outside on their cell phone. I just went up to ask why no one was working on my vehicle and the desk guy just told me they ran out of oil!!!! They had to order some, I've never seen anything like this on my life !! The worst service ever. If I would not have checked I would still be sitting here waiting. What kind of service place runs out of oil???? This is piss poor management!! You don't wait until you are out of oil to order more oil, that's unacceptable!! Who is completing inventories on supplies in this place?? The manager should be fired!! read more

I am a gig economy worker (Instacart Shopper / Driver) and rely 100% on my vehicle to earn a living. On my way out the door this past Thursday, I discovered a sheet metal screw in my rear driver's side tire and had to cancel a $80+ batch that I had picked up and was in panic-mode in an attempt to find and get to a tire repair facility before my tire went completely flat. Luckily, God was with me that day and I happened to be less than a mile from the Doraville store and managed to limp in there with just enough air in my tire to avoid damage to the wheel itself. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as I walked in the store, one of your young associates, Saul, looked at me and I think could read the desperation on my face, and he asked what he could help me with.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Saul was professional, friendly, courteous, and immediately assessed the situation and assured me that he would get me back on the road within the hour, which he did, and for which I am eternally grateful! I have noticed that the automotive repair industry as a whole has a challenge keeping their stores / facilities in good working order and repair, and Pep Boys Doraville store is no exception. The young group of associates who work in this location, along with the customers who come here, deserve better - a nicer, cleaner facility. I'm not sure who runs facilities for Pep Boys, but you would be doing yourselves a huge favor by implementing a system wide renovation program, followed by a well-funded ongoing repair and maintenance program. 2025 UPDATE I'm very disappointed because I don't know what's getting done to my car now. I was here back in December to get maintenance in my car, everything was great. Got some air filters, brake fluid, and some more stuff that can be seen in the receipt. Today I went back for an oil change, and as you know you get your vehicle inspection, I got home and started reading everything. TELL ME WHY it says I need fluids, filters when I supposedly got done TWO MONTHS AGO. First time, went in on a friends recommendation. I worked with Romeo who took care of my oil change and concern of a possible rim leak on a front tire. The mechanic found there was a dent on the inside rim of the tire in question as well as a screw in the tire. Romeo was very concious of my retiree budget and gave me good advice on how to address the rim, which I will follow up on. In the meanwhile I had the oil change and a repair made to the tire due to the screw. I declined the necessary air cabin filter replacement since I had a spare at home and it was something I can do. I'm definitely not a car person by any means but felt very comfortable and satisfied with the service I received here a few months back. I went here for a diagnostic as my check engine light came on suddenly. They were a preferred shop with my insurance/warranty company, so I called ahead to book an appointment with them ASAP. Even though I had to reschedule more than once in the same day due to some work conflicts of my own, the guys at the shop were super nice about putting me back on for another time. The day of the appointment everything was handled professionally, and they had no problems filing with my warranty company as promised, so the diagnostic was free. Everyone who helped me was respectful and friendly. I know some places try to take advantage of women or "non-car people," but I didn't feel that way here. I sat and waited by myself for a few hours while my car was in line-up to be looked at and witnessed the same professionalism with other customers too. Overall, it was a great experience, and even though it's only the second Pep Boys I've ever been to I've only had good service both times. Ask questions about anything like how long would I have to wait or asking about car questions, and they will educate you. When making appointments, I recommend calling the place to schedule. Their website is iffey and needs work, because I tried making an appointment on their website but it didn't register in their system. I had oil changes with them, break fluid changes, air cabin filter, battery cleaning, tires balance and rotation. I trust them with it all. read more

Do not trust this pep boys! I brought in my car for an alignment yesterday 11:30. The tech Chris in the front counter took my car and said it would be ready by the end of the day. I receive my car at 6:30 PM. I started driving home and felt a clunking, tire smacking On the left side noise on the tire. When I got home I inspected what was wrong. I found Lugnuts were not tight to the proper torque specifications for a Subaru. I'm glad I was not going at high speed or else my wheel would have fallen off and I would've wrecked my car and maybe killed somebody because of this Pep Boys. This location is honest about what your car really needs, which is rare to find! I came here after another Pep Boys told me that I needed a part replaced and quoted me at over $600. After buying the part myself, I called multiple Pep Boys locations and was given conflicting information, with some saying they wouldn't replace customer parts and others giving me even higher quotes than the original location. When I called this location, I spoke with the manager Chris, who gave me a reasonable price. When I took my car in, Chris informed me that my car didn't actually need the service! I was able to return the part and save hundreds of dollars. I am so grateful for Chris' honesty, and I plan to return here for all my car's future needs! read more

I get so frustrated with businesses that have incompetent employees who do not work with integrity, and that is why I LOVE this Pep Boys location. Every time I pop in here for a service, there is ALWAYS someone at the counter to greet me. These guys are calm, communicate clearly, very transparent with cost of services, and always have some available coffee ready to be consumed :) I've worked with Preston several times at this location, and each time is timely prompt, gains a full understanding of what is going on with my car, gives his professional opinions, and gets the job done in a manner that doesn't warrant excessive waiting. While waiting for the service to be completed, I sat in the waiting area and happened to read the Pep Boys "Promises" poster. And I can advocate that the Pep Boys' promise of express service and 100% satisfaction is being translated to customers at this location. ***I'd recommend for the company to start selling key chains for men and women. I got a flat tire and needed one tire repaired and he refused to even though I had a CONFIRMED appointment which no one had the decency to email or call me about. I went in to this location yesterday for an alignment. I had my front brakes installed at this location in January of this year and because they were so quick and seemed so proficient as well as efficient, I asked for a quote and an appointment to return for this alignment. I had an appointment at 9:30 am. I didn't leave until 2:30 pm! I waited 5 hours for an alignment! After I leaving I noticed my rear brakes were squeeking and scrubbing as I would slow to a stop. I attempted to contact the store, but received no answer. The store's Service Manager, Mr. Lai Leung-Cheung, was in the store the entire time. In fact, Preston, indicated he made my appointment for the alignment specifically during a time when a licensed person who he stated was "more experienced in that area" could be there. The day of my appointment, I was informed at 11:30 that they were short-staffed and that they were "trying to get to me." This courtesy was given by Chris at the front counter. (The Service Manager seemed only concerned for speaking to individuals who were bilingual.) He never even acknowledge me until I asked him a question about "how long this should really take," after my car had not been pulled into the shop after sitting in the parking lot for so long. There were even times during the waiting where the service members behind the counter (namely Preston) were speaking loudly and using intense profanity as they were discussing invoices sent to another store, all of which could be clearly heard by the customers in the waiting area, children included. The Service Manager, sitting at the front counter during all of this, seemed to have a complete lack of concern for what was going on in the shop or for the customer's experience. I think the most concerned person in the whole place was Chris at the front counter! He alone apologized for my wait and advised he'd give me a discount for waiting. When the technician (Sean G.) finished and I was at the counter paying, I was given my key and my tire lock. I went out to my car and had no hub caps on my car!! I had to go back into the store and ask Preston, "Can I get my hub caps put back on please?" He shook his head an headed to the shop to tell Sean. I walked outside and could see he putting my hub caps on. I couldn't wait to leave this place!! After leaving, my rear brakes are squeaking and scrubbing and they were not doing that before I went in! Not to mention my car is pulling to the left very obviously! It was doing that before I went in, which is the reason I decided to come in for an alignment in the first place. I'm at least thankful that I didn't pay "an arm and a leg" for the 5-hours of service that led to my car now being in worse shape than when I took it in. Pepboys' motto refers to "making things right." This could not feel more wrong!!! I think this was the worst experience I've had with this Pepboys. The first experience was better, which is why I decided to return. However, this experience, with the exception of Chris at the front counter, was absolutely terrible! I've actually made 3 different appointments on separate occasions, days in advance, with confirmations and emails and SOMEHOW they've needed to cancel or not even have my appointment in the system. I've tried to call to make appointments and they NEVER answer. The online system makes the appointment but "magically" it's never in their system. They called my 2hrs before an appointment made 3 days ago to tell me they are overbooked and can't be seen today. I don't know what happened at this location but it's terrible now read more

This place was amazing. I showed up early and they were able to quickly fit me in. I had a screw in a new tire and they made the repair without trying to sell me a new tire. The staff was super respect and acted as if they were happy to have my business. I recommend this location. Chad Goldenberg gladly fixed my bad tire, did not charge me anything for doing so (unlike NTB), and they put it back on my car the next morning. Hard to find this kind of service now-a-days. Don't use the buford hwy location in doraville ga I took my car there for two new tires and mind you the day before I took it to my regular ford dealership for a oil change and tire rotation so after everything was done everything checked out including my brakes. So the next day my tire was losing air pressure due to a puncture in the tire so I decided to take my car to pep boys and get both my rear tires replaced. Now here goes the crazy part they did there own inspection of the vehicle and again everything checked out good including the brakes. So I paid for the rear tires and left and only a few hrs later I heard a very loud grinding noise in the back where I got tires replaced at and come to find out my brakes were completely broken due to them overtorqing the tires so I brought back in and the guy named Chris tells me that it is no way that you can overtorqed which I thought was completely bs because I tried to losseen them myself and the bolts on the tires were so tight that I could barely get them off so now I have brakes that have been warped due to the tires being overtorqed. So they won't even admit that they overtorqed the tires due to the lack of experience in their shop so now I'm out of 550 because they couldn't even admit they warped my brakes even after they said my brakes were good to go on the day I brought my car in the first time to get those rear tires replaced I will never ever take my car back there again that was the last time that will happen. Also you need to reevaluate Chris as a manager because even if you having a bad day you don't talk about killing your workers because the day was so bad which made me feel very uncomfortable due to times we are in I don't take things like that lightly. read more

I was met with the manager Lai. He is a horrible manager and should not be a manager. Instead of helping me solve my problem with my car. He started asking me why I posted about him on Yelp. When my car broke down I was devastated. I hate going into shops because I always feel intimidated and lost . From my previous experiences I always get taking advantage of. When I went into Pep Boys at store #1552 I had a different experience. From the moment I walked in I was greeted by the manager Lai. He took the time and broke down everything step by step the issues I had with my car. He could tell I didn't understand so he took time to show me. He also called me with updates with my car while the team was working on it. Lai and his team there is great! You can always tell there is a great manager by how the team works. Today was my first visit to the shop with my own car for an oil change and was greeted by Lai the manager. My mom came with me to help since the 2013 Toyota Seq. Was hers before mine. He was very nice and patient with me being, again, it was my first visit for my own. We were able to open an account for myself and get things going. I did have to wait about an hour, however I am aware I am not the only person there so it's no bother. He also checked my tires and let me know I do need them replaced, he did offer me a great deal. I've been coming here for a while now. I want to say maybe close to 3 years or so. Estimating time isn't my strong point. I feel completely comfortable with them running diagnostics on my car, fixing it, and getting me back on the road. Lai, as a manager, is very knowledgeable and the team he has with him is also fantastic. Today is the first day I've had my car serviced since August. I walk in and he remembers my name. It has nothing to do with fixing cars, but it's the reason why I will always come here and recommend other people come here. It's the service you get. He knows we are people and not bags of money with car problems. I went in for an oil change. They ran a full diagnotic. Told me about my cabin filter, brakes and rotors. I know what's wrong with my car and I know how much it will cost to fix it. I've never had problems when I leave their shop. I always know what I'll be paying when I return. read more

I couldn't go without commenting about the specific location. I have dealt with 5 different people at this location over the past 2 - 3 years since moving into the area. Never an experience that I truly can be negative about. However, the last 2 visits have been absolutely amazing. Especially having to purchase tires and brakes during the pandemic missing 30% of my income. The worked with me on pricing and got me in and out quickly. I 100% recommend this location (the one on Peachtree Blvd in Brookhaven HORRIBLE). I do believe that one of the gentleman I dealt was named Marlon (younger black male). And the other amazing employee was a bald(ing) white male short to medium height. Again I am amazed at the level of service and professionalism I have received up until this point. read more

Have taken my ford explorer there a year ago to replace ac compressor and repair the system. After spending over $1000 dollars, I had to return every four months to have my Freon topped off, They played for over a year without finding the leak and I just went back and they indicated that the warrantee expired and that they never replenished the Freon.
