Risotto scallop truffle carpaccio: I never had truffles in large pieces like this before. I was exactly what I hoped for. The earthy woody flavor of the truffle, I like it. Australian ribeye Wagyu: delicious that's all I have to say! American Wagyu filet mignon: he said the flavor was so deep and perfect. Potato gratin with ham: so good! The slight salty taste of ham cuts the rich creamy and cheesy flavor. You don't taste the ham at first but if you pay attention you taste the slight hint. I loved it. Fresh cinnamon sugar donuts with bourbon caramel dipping sauce: it was fluffy and cake flavor and you can dip in the sauce to make it sweeter or eat it without. It was the perfect way to end the night.

The service was friendly throughout the meal, but everything moved surprisingly slowly, from ordering to receiving the food. We tried the salad, burger, and lamb kebabs. The salad and burger were decent but nothing particularly memorable. The lamb kebabs were unfortunately the biggest disappointment of the meal. They were quite salty and the meat was much tougher than expected, making them difficult to enjoy. Overall, the restaurant makes a good first impression with its ambiance and welcoming service, but the food did not quite match the setting. While the experience wasn't terrible, I'm not sure there was enough to make me eager for a second visit.

Based on our first experience, service was good, drinks and food came out fast. But, the drinks are priced on the high side. Food is about average priced. Three of us ordered the French dip. They use Boreshead deli meat, which was unexpected. That said, the sandwich tasted good. It was an average portion size and amount of meat. The au jus was tasty, but they could be more generous in the serving size. I ordered the spinach salad with their homemade Ranch dressing. It was a hearty portion (I took 3/4 home), it did taste fresh and I liked the toppings. The music was good, the place is large and is both family and dog friendly. Our server was friendly and attentive. We would like to return to compare our experiences, plus we want to try their pizza. It looked pretty good. This was a strong 4-star experience for us today.

By the way, the seafood salad on the salad bar was awesome. The best one I've ever had. And that's including my own. Even the onion rings I thought was very good. And what made the prime rib so great was the Au Jus that came with it. Our server, which I'm sorry I don't remember her name, was great. We even had leftovers from the prime rib, and she gave us a cup with new Au Jus in it. I felt we had great service, great food, and it was nice ambience. I have never been to Spanky's before and I was not sure what to expect. But it wasn't what I thought. And we will definitely be back. Thank you for the wonderful experience.

Service started a little slowly--we didn't meet our server for about 15 minutes, although another team member quickly brought us water and drinks. Once our server arrived, he was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. It seemed like he may have been covering several tables that evening, so we completely understood. Our meal ended up taking about 90 minutes after reservation, which was longer than we expected for a quick dinner. We shared two dozen oysters, king crab legs, the miso butterfish, and cocktail.. The oysters were fresh, though we had slightly higher expectations. The king crab was easily the standout of the meal. The miso butterfish was well prepared but a bit heavy on the sauce--I think a touch of acidity and a side of vegetables would have balanced it nicely, something to consider. Between the waterfront breeze, friendly hosts, and our server's hospitality, we still had an enjoyable evening. It may have simply been a busy night for the service team. We'd gladly give Syren another try.
