These guys are incredible! We were having issues with our new fireplace burner and initially called to get an appointment. After talking things through, we were able to get an appointment for later in the week. We are pretty handy, and the job seemed pretty elementary, so after texting a few photos, we asked if we could just do this ourselves. Not only did Luis walk us through how to do it, but also refused to accept any cash for his time on the phone. Highly recommend Luis!! It took me a while to find a fireplace repair service that could repair Valor fireplaces and I was so glad I found Luis. He's really amicable, professional, and is tremendously dedicated to keeping his clients satisfied. Luis had to make 3 trips to my house to replace a fireplace and was so apologetic to me for having to "disturb" me so many times. He spent time replacing pipes from outside the house going in through brick walls into the fireplace that were leaking gas. He also tried to help me save money where he could. When he repaired and cleaned my fireplaces, he used a blanket to cover the area so that the space would stay clean and wore shoe covers over his shoes. He's definitely put a lot of thought into making sure customers are happy the entire step of the repair and maintenance process. Luis came out last week to repair 2 gas fireplaces, for one the pilot wouldn't light, the other the flame would not spread to the logs. One ended up just needing a good cleaning, the other had a spider taking up residence that needed to be evicted as well as a good cleaning. They both work great now. Luis was easy to communicate with, responded promptly, he was on time, neat and respectful of my home, very reasonably priced and easily accommodated my request for an early service call. I highly recommend Fireplace Techs and specifically Luis. I have a Napoleon gas fireplace with a blower that wouldn't light. It's located in a large room and we rely on it to provide extra heat in the room. Luis carefully covered the surrounding area and wore booties. The quickly identified problem was a loose wire and a bubble in our line. Without me asking, he also cleaned both sides of the glass and even touched up a visible area with high temp paint. We were told by Terminex that we had roof rats in the attic, that there was nesting activity and that all the insulation needed to be replaced. They gave us a quote of over 5K. I found Insul-Tech through Home Advisers and Luis came by the very next day on a Sunday, and inspected the attic and found no evidence of rodents. He walked by husband through, and there were no rat nests and no droppings! As the insulation was 29 yrs old from when the house was built, we decided to have it replaced. Luis gave us a very reasonable quote well below 5K. The crew came as scheduled 2 weeks later. Luis even called to remind me the night before. They did an outstanding job in about 6 hours. All vents were meshed, any holes/cracks were sealed, the attic disinfected and new thick insulation installed. Highly recommend this company! read more

Fireplace Techs is the very best service company I have ever found regardless of area of specialization. And Luis is the greatest technician. For no particular reason I stopped using my gas fireplace some 8 years ago. Recently, I decided I wanted to use it again. I was concerned though about just turning it on after all these years so I talked about checking everything out with Luis. On the phone his pleasant professional manner was very impressive and I made an appointment. Luis arrived on time. His technical knowledge was of the highest order. In a couple of hours he dismantled the fireplace components, cleaned everything, made adjustments, put it all back together, then turned it on. It burned brightly and beautifully again. Next he ordered some new valves which arrived in no time and he returned to install them with the same superb show of expertise. Again, very considerate, flexible with appointments, on time, and just pleasant to talk to. When he finishes his work, the area is left spotlessly clean because he puts down a cover and also wears covers on his shoes. Everything about Luis is first rate.
