Five stars is an understatement when it comes to the quality of food and with how you're valued as a customer here. What do you have a taste for? What's good here? It doesn't matter. You win with ANYTHING on the menu. A month ago, my wife and I each had the Shrab Cake Sandwich (w/Cabbage & Candied Yams; w/Mac & Cheese & Collard Greens), but that's not all. We were blessed to sample the Chili and the Shrab Bisque, so we also took those home too, not as sides. Not disappointed, I repeat, NOT disappointed. As we ate, we knew the Shrabster Roll was going to be our next order, and we tried that 10hrs straight from Atlanta. The Shrabster Roll...whoa, you canNOT lose. Absolutely had an amazing experience at Fireman's Cafe in Clinton, MD! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was outstanding - everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The food was everything we wanted and more. The crab cake was absolutely delicious, packed with flavor, and the minced BBQ was incredibly tasty. The ribs? They just fell right off the bone! We also had the mac and cheese, greens, baked beans, and yams - all of them were scrumptious and perfectly seasoned. Went to a family reunion in Laurel, MD this past weekend traveling about 3 hours from New York. My girlfriend and I were looking for a good soul food restaurant in the area. The turkey wings weren't as tender as mine and needed some attention to detail to remove the small remnants of feathers. The greens had to much stalk and were not from a can. Seasoning on the food was to my liking, but not overdone. My friend had a taste for fish and went with the 2 piece catfish combo. The fish was fried to order and was piping hot when she sat down to eat. Their sides were macaroni and cheese and collard greens. They enjoyed their food but the mac and cheese had a "made with liquid cheese" vibe to it and thats what made me not select it. This time…read moreI ordered a full rack of BBQ ribs, a pork chop dinner with black-eyed peas and potato salad, a veggie platter, and peach cobbler. This was actually my first time trying the ribs, and they were really good! I get the pork chops regularly, and they were good as always. Unfortunately, there were some major issues with my delivery order today. My peach cobbler was completely missing, along with one of the sides from my pork chop dinner. When you're paying for a full order, everything you paid for should actually make it into the bag. But my biggest issue was the veggie platter. Apparently, the veggie platter comes with only TWO sides. I was charged $21 for it, yet individual sides are $7 each. So I could have ordered those exact same two sides à la carte for $14 instead of paying $21 for a "veggie platter." At first, I assumed that for $21, maybe the veggie platter came with two larger portions. Nope! They were the same small sides that can be ordered individually for $7 each. To make matters worse, the photo for the veggie platter shows THREE sides. Charging customers $21 for two regular sides that cost $14 when purchased separately is not okay. There is literally a $7 upcharge for calling two individual sides a "veggie platter," with nothing additional being provided. There is no reasonable reason why a customer should be charged $21 for $14 worth of food. That isn't just a pricing issue--I find that practice unethical, and ownership really needs to address it. And even if the veggie platter included a THIRD small side, three individual sides at $7 each would still cost exactly $21! So even then, there would be absolutely no benefit to ordering a "veggie platter" instead of simply ordering three sides à la carte. I enjoy Carolina Kitchen's food and will give credit where it's due--the ribs were good, and the pork chops are consistently good. But between missing my peach cobbler, missing a side from my pork chop dinner, and being charged $21 for what amounts to $14 worth of sides, this order was extremely disappointing. Future customers: Do NOT order the veggie platter! Just order the sides individually. Two sides will cost you $14 instead of $21. Ownership: Just remove the "veggie platter" from the menu altogether. Two small sides cost $14 individually. Three small sides cost $21 individually. So even if you added a third side to the platter, it would STILL just equal the regular à la carte price of three sides. There is no value whatsoever in this being a separate $21 menu item. Just remove it!

As I started to eat, I noticed I only received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny loose legs in the bag. When I brought it to the server's attention, the manager came over and tried to tell me that the 2 small loose legs counted as a second cluster. Instead of acknowledging the mistake and making it right, she went back and forth with me in front of my 6-year-old child while attempting to put her finger in my bag to count the 2 little loose legs out to me. I've been coming here for over a year, and I have never received 1 cluster and a 2 tiny legs that would count as a full pound. A full pound should come with 2 full clusters. The customer service and professionalism during this situation were very disappointing. I usually never complain but I felt this was much needed. Unfortunately, this experience has made me decide not to return. Rock and Toss just lost a loyal customer. Don't come here unless you want to get less than what you paid for!

My husband asked if I wanted to go back, within the week. This is *UNHEARD* of. I don't know if he has ever loved a restaurant so quickly and so MUCH. He's been craving seafood boils for a few days now, so he suggested we go this afternoon. We went around 3-4pm. The crowd was minimal, but still, there were probably 15-20 tables full. It's a nice sized restaurant , about the size of a "pub"/local dive bar. The hostess was really welcoming (no eye rolling or impatience!!). She greeted us with a smile and a kind gesture and promptly sat us in a booth. The entire restaurant was clean, whimsical and smelled like old bay and garlic. Great art and seafood accoutrements all over the walls and booths The music was 2000s R&B and couldn't have been more perfect. Our server was incredible. We were given two very easy to understand menus and a "basket" of popcorn! It tasted like movie theater popcorn , our cups which were paper cups and a paper table cloth which lent to the "crab house" vibe we love so much, "seafood sauce" (mayo based siracha sauce think, with old bay? - it's like a spiced Big Mac sauce), clarified butter, cocktail sauce, gloves, a garbage pail, crab cracker tools and plastic silverware, and wet wipes and bibs (which I used because of course I visited in a white shirt!) After no more than a 10-15 minute wait, we had our boils "Rocked and Tossed" right to the table!! Seasoning 100% covered everything!! We ordered: Freshly brewed, 1/2&1/2 sweet/unsweetened tea. (It was very reminiscent of Chick-Fil-A tea/McDonald's tea...the good kind!) Not overly iced. So delicious!! Husband: 1 combo boil with snow crab legs, sausage and extra corn, (comes with corn and potatoes), garlic seasoning and medium heat. His garlic sauce smelled to die for. Very well rounded, (I tasted it). It had sliced garlic in it and wasn't too salty at all. The medium heat wasn't too hot, but don't take my word for it, get the heat level you like. His crab legs pulled *perfectly*. The sausage was wonderfully Smokey with that crispy/crunchy edge. The corn was tender and juicy, not overly cooked and the potatoes melted like butter. Me: 1 combo boil with snow crabs and crawfish and added hard boiled eggs (also comes with corn and potatoes), "Rocking Bomb" seasoning (old bay, garlic, lemon pepper, Cajun). *I have never had crawfish THIS good in my entire life.* I genuinely cannot describe the euphoria I had with words, but I'll try. They weren't muddy/fishy. They absorbed the flavors so well, yet preserved the firm but tender texture of the meat. They were very easy to break into, just like the crab legs. Nothing got stuck or jammed. The eggs were a balanced addition, soaking up all that awesome flavor. I ate one half way through and the second at the end. Again, nothing was abnormally fishy. Seafood can, at times, taste a little too oceanic. Everything came out piping hot, but not so hot you couldn't tear right into it. Both boils were nice and buttery. We tried using the gloves but ended up tossing them. They have sinks right in the open so it is easy to get up and wash up if you get too messy. (The bathrooms are on the smaller side - with the women being two stalls, and I didn't see any others, so the extra sinks really come in handy). There was a very kind gentleman bussing tables. He was fast and thorough. He was very pleasant to us as we walked by him. Very courteous!!! If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Literally nothing was bad. I cannot wait to go back and hope they stay in business for a millennia to come. I believe we found THE best seafood boil restaurant in all of Maryland!!
