The promotion required the purchase of a food item, which I picked the macaroni and cheese and was very disappointed, the picture in the add showed a full container with a nice yellow color, what I received was half empty. When I mentioned that the Macaroni serving was half empty the attendant, said that was the standard size. I have eaten at a few of these in Las Vegas and really enjoyed the meatball sub. I have never tried anything else and was pleasantly surprised when I came here the other night. I ordered a medium turkey, not knowing that is was on special! $4.99 for a medium turkey! That in itself is awesome. They have plenty of specialty subs to choose from and the way they put together their sandwiches is different from the rest. I love that they heat up the meat and cheese, but keep everything else crisp and fresh. Everyone working there is extremely friendly and had a positive, upbeat attitude. You can tell they don't hate their jobs and don't mind showing up to work. The decor is different and gives you plenty to look at. I LOVE that they ask for donations to firehouses to support the men and women who are risking their lives to keep us safe. Let's just say I liked this place more than my husband, and I thought it was just okay. Another typical Simi Valley mediocre establishment. The food wasn't bad, but it's not the top of the line sub establishment either, like Cricca's, Bay Cities or Italia Deli. First of all, they don't even have roasted turkey breast..... it's smoked turkey only, of which I am not the biggest fan.... but it was as close to what I wanted as I was going to get. The other thing is that it's not your top o' the line meat quality, you know, that slimy texture that you get with true processed meats.... that you don't get in the top quality meats that are served ELSEWHERE. UGH. They charge kind of a lot to just offer slimy meats. The other ingredients were fine....... lettuce, tomato, cheeses, bread, mushrooms....... but again, nothing great. I had an "Engineer" sub, which had the smoked turkey, tomato, lettuce and mushrooms on wheat bread. My hubby had the "Hook & Ladder," which was a smoked turkey and Virginia ham sandwich with lettuce and tomato. First of all I love the theme that this place is all about. It's completely dedicated to the people who risk their life's to fight fires, with a huge beautiful mural on the wall, the decor and hats for the kids. The employees are always so friendly and use fire station lingo, it's super cute. Good variety of subs, from your basic turkey and cheese to my fave the meatball. They have some unique to them like their under 500 calories sandwhiches and you can build your own. Great place for lunch or a quick dinner. I was originally going to skip it and go to Chipotle next door, but decided to try Firehouse Subs based on the amazing Yelp reviews... boy I was not disappointed! A++ + Decor is that of a firehouse, everything about it. It's a cool, fun and playful way to enjoy your sub. + Service was delightful, and I don't say that too often. The folks here were pleasant to talk to and helpful with our choices. They walked us through how to customize our sandwich and were patient. + They have more toppings/veggies to select from than Jersey Mikes, which was always my biggest gripe with them. + Their soda machine is awesome. Super futuristic with so many possible choices and combinations! Every try Raspberry Coke? Now you can! + Their medium cup is larger than most other places' X-large. Their Large is a complete monster! Cool thing that drinks come with a free refill. + Indoor and outdoor seating available. Cute and quiet little spot to enjoy lunch on a nice day. I will say we use to see commercials for these Firehouse Subs but never had one close enough to try. So I was beyond excited when I saw during a google search there was one close enough to finally try a sub. I will not lie I was very pleased. The subs were really good, bread was soft and the sandwiches had a lot of flavor and so many fresh toppings. I mean some places you can look at their "fresh veggies" and they don't look fresh at all, more like a little sad and wilted. It reminded me of the bests things from Togo and Quiznos. Definitely will keep this in the favorites rotation for quick bites. read more

Wow! Went in to get a sandwich and walked out a different man. I was assisted by Brandon and Kurt, who not only whipped up such a good sandwich that my tastebuds sprang up and did the salsa, but they also offered a premium Firehouse hat. I will never take this hat off again. These workers were so helpful and full of joy. That is why the sandwich was so delicious. I took a bite and instantly felt a sensation never before felt in my mouth. I then decided I would be coming here twice a day for the next year.... It's that good. The decor is fabulous - firefighter artifacts, a large TV on one wall, plenty of seating. The menu is what differentiates this place from other sub places. I thought it was really interesting. I settled on the "ENGINEER" a sub that has turkey, cheese and mushrooms (an item you don't usually see at sandwich places). It was delicious. Yes, the five star rating is deserved. I've been meaning to try this place for a while and finally made it work. Here's a helpful hint, it's in the Simi Town Center in the string of restaurants in the parking lot in front of the Lowes. So head for the Lowes. Walked in, ordered a turkey bacon ranch and was impressed by how clean the place was, it had enough staff to not only handle the lunch crowd crush but also to have employees periodically come out from behind the counter to clean the tables. The service was prompt and all the employees were friendly and they got my order correct (thank you!). Now, for the actual sandwich, it was fantastic! I was blown away with how good it was. So, I have been to this location several times and the food is always great, however, the customer service has been hit or miss. I stopped by yesterday evening to place a catering order for my office the next day. I ordered 20 boxed lunches and paid in full ($180). Delivery was supposed to be at 11:30am today. I decided to call them at 11:45am to see where they were at and follow up on the order. They told me they didn't make the order nor did they call me to tell me this. I asked how long it would take them to put the order together now, the employee was like ummm...I don't know! I told him this was unacceptable and I wanted a refund. I also asked for the owner of the store to call me. They just lost me as a customer. I have ordered lunch for the last 3 years every Thursday for my office and decided to try something new. Never in the 3 years have I ever had this happen to me. I am appalled of how unprofessional this staff is. They clearly need more training. I just want to say later that day, The owner did call me and was very apologetic. He said all staff involved in dropping the ball were spoken to. He explained what had happened and offered to personally deliver free lunch to my office. That was very kind of him. Looks like Ill be giving them another shot afterall. Hands down the best sandwiches in town. I eat here 5 or 6 times a month and I'm NEVER disappointed. NEVER!! I always get the NEW YORK STEAMER and will once in awhile get the TURKEY BACON RANCH and I've even had the SWEET & SPICY MEATBALL. Honestly, I don't think they have a bad choice. Today, I drove all the way out to Simi just for the brisket sub. I gave THIS location 5 stars because of Shannon. She was extremely nice and friendly and made the experience a 1000 times better!! As I was sitting and eating, who do I see working hard, sweeping, cleaning and arranging the condiment station next to the drinks? Shannon. She is the epitome of a STAR employee and I hope her employer recognizes her outstanding work ethic. Of course the subs here are great! I think one of the best around! But really, customer service can make or break a place and Shannon did it all for me here. I don't know her. Never saw her before in my life but like her shirt says, she has heart! I used to like this location, but after today's visit, I don't think I will ever come back again. We came at 6:30, waited like 10 min to get order. There were only 3 staff in the restaurant, with long lines of customers and several mobile orders. We Then waited almost 30mim to get our sandwiches. And they gave us the incorrect sandwiches! We ordered one ladder & hook, one turkey ranch without ranch, but we were given two turkey ranch with ranch. We weee very hungry at 7;15pm, so we just accepted the wrong order. This place is tasty! I've tried the philly and the tuna salad sub and both were great. Fresh bread, fresh ingredients. You can't see the ingredients over the bar, so walk over to the register and you'll find a spinning sign of what they have to offer. I don't think you can go wrong as long as you pick ingredients you like. They also have one of those cool soda machines that is all inclusive with a bunch of different fun flavors. But when I'm in Simi, I make a point to go to Firehouse Subs. Firehouse has all the elements to make a great sandwich and wonderful dining experience. Their bread is fresh, soft but not too soft, toasty but not toasty. The meats are perfect; it reminds me of the small Italian grocer, where my family shopped when I was a kid growing up in Reseda, who hand sliced the most delicious deli meats. The veges are fresh and crunchy. I'm not a big soda drinker but their selection has something for everyone plus a few ice tea options. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. Too many better places with way better quality and taste than here. Green Acres, Rhineland Deli, San Carlo, and Alpine to name a few. Ive tried several sandwiches, and honestly they both tasted the same. The Italian was mediocre in meat quality and cheese and had a strange annoying 'house sauce' they put on it, which trashed the sandwich. Their wide variety of table sauces couldnt save it. The Club was equally bad, with that same bizarre secret sauce again! Two for two in the trash. Not a fan, wont come back. read more
