The lady at the front is so rude. She didn't know what she was doing, $7 for a very small plain bagel with extra cream cheese. "bagel with cream cheese" is $4.10.When I asked for a receipt she said she doesn't have one. I would not recommend this place at all. Also menu was very hard to read

We tried two bagels, one was good, the other was okay maybe since it was cold. And the texture of the bagels were different, one was soft and the other wasn't that soft. Service was good. The ambiance inside the deli was very clean. Overall it's a good small business to try out!

Bagel was great. Simple breakfast. Got served fast. Quite little bagel shop. Will definitely be going again

Wow. Awesome bagels! Perfect toast on em, taste so freshly made. I forgot what a fresh warm bagel tasted like. Packed with the right amount of cream cheese, not skimped. Gotta try their bacon and coffee next time.

Been coming here for 10 years. Family owned and operated, very nice people. When it's busy, be prepared to wait because EVERYTHING IS MADE TO ORDER!!!!! If you are so impatient, just call in advance and place an order! It can sometimes be only one person making the food, even when it's busy ! Every time I call, they recognize my voice and my order. These people care about their customers. Come and enjoy a bagel sandwich, and support a local small business!

Excellent service, family takes their time and effort to deliver delicious 'home cooked' bagel sandwiches + others. Very sweet couple that were more than helpful. Homestyle bagel shop aesthetic. Excellent hidden gem

The Dutch crunch bread type was very interesting and a must try,if you have never had it. I had everything on it. Mustard, mayo lettuce, tomato, pickles. Not sure what else was in it other than avocado but it was amazing. Customer service was much to be desired and the dude with the long dirty blonde hair definitely needs some lessons with explaining kindly rather than just pointing at a sign. This dude shouldn't be at the front line taking orders, who knows how much business he's losing as a result of his public social skills. Placing an order. Speaking with this guy was a very unpleasant experience. The owner needs to record the interaction and reactions of the employees and customers to see what's going in. The food? Fantastic! Couldn't recommend a better place to order a sandwich from. Service not so much. Would have given at least a 4 ,but again customer service skills is lacking here. The sandwich maker with the brown short hair is really nice and pleasant to interact with. Maybe ted Nugent should watch how he interacts with the public. Update: Mgmnt got back really quick and remediated the issue with the employee and hopefully improves over time. Sometimes, that's all it takes to get the full 5* stars, thanks Steve!

Just inside the door it was obvious to get a place to sit you better be seated "now!" Everyone was eating, tables were covered with food, it looked great. Our order was taken, the person taking the order was quick, to the point and was not asking how my mother was doing. We were there to eat-not socialize. The receipt was ripped off and passed over with a flick. No instruction given like 'they'll call your number' or 'you pick up over there.' In the next 5 minutes if you paid attention for about 20 seconds you learned how things worked. It was busy, plates looked great and the aroma inside the place was something else. Our food came quick, we sat and began to peel open our pastrami dip sandwiches. Oh, they smelled great. They looked great. The meat was delicious, melt-in-your mouth tender. They did notice us! They like us! I could not imagine how much better a pastrami sandwich could have been. The bread was very good too-you know the Earl of Sandwich was onto to something way back when....the combination of meat and bread was great. The Hat has numerous other locations in the LA area...if you want a beyond generous sandwich you must stop and order the pastrami.

We called ahead to put our names in. Big location, lots of seating. It gets loud and busy. Easy parking in a lot out front. We were a group of 12 and they amazingly were ok with splitting up our bills per couple. My bf and I split Brent's #13 (pastrami) and the Italian sub. Both come with sides - we got potato salad, fries, and onion rings. The portions are massive. The pastrami was really good and there was a nice amount of pastrami in the sandwich. Pickles and coleslaw come in the sandwich too. I'd say it's probably not great to save it as leftovers as the bread will likely soak up the liquid from the coleslaw. The steak fries were good. The Italian sub was huge! Hard to eat because the sandwich is stacked so tall. I added some Dijon mustard to the sandwich which was a nice addition and it was pretty good but I liked the pastrami more. I didn't actually love the onion rings that much. The breading they come in is really grainy and I didn't find them that tasty. Portions are huge so pace yourself; in hindsight we probably should have gotten one sandwich and maybe one smaller item. We both were in serious food comas all day after this meal. You pay up at the front when your waiter gives you the bill, right across from where they store epically large looking treats like massive slices of cake, cannolis, and cookies. They're fun to look at!

If you were having a special occasion, we would go to three or more different places to order the catering. I consider myself, not an expert but a decent judge of authentic Italian food. We picked it up on Saturday afternoon at 3PM exactly when they said it would be ready. They wrote the directions on top of the cover and we followed them exactly as written. The lasagna was so good that our guests were all pleased. Many asked where we got it. I was proud to tell them I'd made the right choice by going the extra mile to Italia deli. We had 20 guests, everyone had a piece and some of our friends took a couple pieces home. We still had leftovers to put in the freezer. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Lol (Dad Jokes FTW) Now, let's all 'relish' in this moment ;) Well thankfully for you, all further Dad jokes shall cease immediately. Ok, just one more.... Let's get into the 'bread and butter' of this review. --------Dad jokes shall not pass this line-------- Speaking of being in a Pickle.... I seem to find myself at Pickles Deli & Restaurant in Newbury Park every time someone in our household is under the weather. Sure, DayQuil & Nyquil are great. And a nap in a dark room does wonders. But who feels like going to the kitchen when you feel like you've been run over by a bus to make yourself or someone in your family food when you just want to lay down and sleep. *Pickles Deli to-go counter has entered the chat* Yes! There is just something about Pickles house made chicken noodle soup that will make everything better! Pro Tip: Squeeze some from fresh lemon to give it a zing all while adding a little boost of Vitamin C. This along with their complimentary bagel Crisps and a big cup of their fountain sprite/7up and you will get you back to your old self in no time! Of course, Pickles Deli and restaurant is more than just their delicious chicken noodle soup from their to-go counter when you are not at your best. They also serve up Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner daily where you can get your expected Deli specialties such as lox and latkes for breakfast or their corned beef, pastrami, and beef brisket sandwich's for lunch and/or dinner just like at a true New York delicatessen. Yes, they've also got house made matzo ball soup! Of course, these are just the specialities, so be prepared as their menu has a wide range of items that will make everyone in your parties belly smile. And after you are all done stuffing your face with all of the savory stuff, be sure to stop at their glass case line to grab a sweet treat for the way out. So......... The next time you are in a Pickle... You can always go to your Dad and pray that he gives you some sound advice (or maybe just a Dad joke to at least make you smile)... But after that, bring him or whoever is willing to join, to Pickles Deli and enjoy a good, hearty meal that will be sure to temporarily help you forget about that pickle you're in. ***Dedicated to my late Father whose witty humor always made me laugh.
