I stopped in here while running some errands yesterday afternoon and ordered my "usual". The large New York Steamer with corned beef and pastrami. Always a good, filling sandwich with plenty of meat with a side of chips and a medium drink for lunch. The sandwiches here are really good, the dining area is always clean, and service is decent. On my visit yesterday, the soda fountain machine was out of ice. And I ordered my sandwich for dining in, only to get my order in a to go bag. I just took my Firehouse Subs bag and sat down at my table and proceeded to enjoy my New York Steamer. Late afternoon always seems to be slower than in the lunch hour rush. But customers are steady. I guess people know of a great place to eat. There is also a hot sauce bar for those who are adventurous. I like hot sauce on chicken wings, but I'll pass on putting it on my sandwich. Spicy mustard is fine with me. This Firehouse Subs makes a great sandwich. I get tired of the burger and fries for lunch out. Although pricey, I have always had a great sandwich here. And I got a big, brown paper bag with "Firehouse Subs" in bold, black letters on the side. I was driving around for work and my stomach felt as if it was sticking to my insides. I needed food ASAP. My first stop was a KFC which had a sign on the door stating that they could only take cash, card reader not working. I found this place in the shopping mall just a bit down from there. Walked in and they greeted me which is always nice. Put in my order for the brisket 8 inch sandwich with a bag of cheddar chips and rounded it off with some sweet tea ($10.21) but cashier.asked if I wanted to round it up for charity so it was an even $11. That sandwich was so good, the cheese was creamy and the bread was fresh. Really liked the lemon tea as well. Glad I went with the medium sized meal because I took no prisoners with that lunch. My favorite is the Engineer, doesn't matter which Firehouse I go to, it's always consistent and yummy! I gave this location a 3 star because I made an online order to be picked up, got there half hour later and they haven't even started on my sub, not even that busy at all, waited for 15 minutes and got the sub. I was so hungry and about to pass out, hence the reason I made an order way ahead so it'll be ready to be picked up! That was a disappointing experience. Had lunch here with my husband recently. Had a friendly greeting when we walked in. The woman at the register took our order fairly quickly and the food was prepared promptly. I went with the tuna sub combo (includes choice of chips and a drink) which was actually very good. It was perfectly put together and sliced, not sloppy like other sandwich places. They also include a dill pickle spear which I loved. They have the coke machine that has so many different choices and possibilities. While we were dining in, I heard a customer place her order and then, minutes later, ask to make a change to her sandwich even though the order was already made. The staff are disconnected with the customers, the floor was dirty and the guy making my sandwich had a girl visiting him that just helped herself to a drink and started talking to him. Great sub place with consistently good food. They make an effort to learn customers names if you come in a few times. With so many quick service places nowadays having poor service, this store does a great job with their customers. They are consistently busy during the lunch rush which means they are doing something right. Everything on the menu is good. I would recommend the Italian or chicken salad sub. read more
