I have not yet had one good experience with this location. I'm allergic to tomato's and they put tomatoes on my sandwich. ( you can see on the receipt I stated no tomato's) The time I ate there before this, there was 2 different hairs in my sandwich. Black and curly short hair and long black hair. The time before that, they left the wrapping on the cheese and I bit into paper. I suggest going to the Val vista location. Unfortunately, this location of FHS continues to go downhill. Not only are our family's orders incorrect after receiving; when correct, the food is burned, tasteless, etc. The young man in "charge" (Biggie is his name?), looks to assist, but in turn also provides incorrect, overcooked food our children (7 and 5 years old) and ourselves are unable to eat or enjoy. This is the 3rd time (as of 03-17-2020) Time to find another location. Though much further away, our former location near Val Vista and Baseline (northwest), is preferable. They weren't busy and there were 5 people behind the counter, so this wasn't an understaffed issue. I ordered the Cajun chicken. It was nothing but complete slop. Soon as I picked up the sandwich it fell apart. The bread was soggy from being over sauced and the lettuce was beyond mushy. Almost had a slimy texture. This location is GARBAGE & discriminatory! I walked in & the stupid mask broke. Sorry, not my fault! An employee inquired about the mask and I informed her that it broke and she said "OK, sorry". Later whilst I am trying to stay away from everybody in the front corner of the restaurant, I get confronted by the manager or owner who's wearing a purple shirt. The manager was just talking to another woman there who appeared to be somebody from their corporate. She was pointing out some of their operational issues. She had a laptop, case & files sitting on the stool table plugged in. So it's pretty obvious she's not a member of the store management. (There's A LOT OF OPERATIONAL issues!). So the manager walks over and says curtly; "you have to have a mask on". I informed her that it broke & showed her. She said; "but you must have have a mask on". I explained to her that my medical history is none of her business and I'm gonna get my food and leave. Then she said "you need to wait outside!" Scolding me as though I was her student and she was the cranky teacher. She then offered to bring the food to me outside in a very condescending way. I just responded; 'that's OK as last time I'll ever come to this establishment' & pointed out my disdain for being treated like a common criminal! My wife who remained inside the store attempted to explain to the manager how the Arizona mandate works. Of course, the manager was too daft to realize that she didn't know what she was talking about & replied with unmitigated snark to her also. The manager even went so far as to TELL my wife to wait outside who had a mask on and did nothing wrong. Of course my wife refused and just stood there, the manager backed down. I found one of my children's cloth masks in my vehicle so I went back in. We walked in there at 1:00 p.m.. We ordered our food at 1:09 PM. Nine minutes standing behind one guy. The cashier was slow as a tortoise. We didn't get our food until 1:32pm. The same condescending manager had the nerve to say; "OK folks her you go sorry for the wait" handing over a grease stained bag. I replied "nearly 25 minutes really?" I then exited the store. After checking my food for "special sauce" it was stone cold! After reading the reviews on this very website about this particular store location, it is apparent that they have some very serious management & personnel issues. That would explain why the woman presumably from corporate was there in a Fire House shirt pointing out the things they were doing wrong. I will admit, I was livid at the way I was being treated but all she had to do was introduce herself, explain situation and ASK nicely. You don't walk up to a grown man in his 40s and talk to him like he's a misbehaving little child!!! I have no doubt they kept our food sitting for a ridiculous amount of time just to stick it to us. Furthermore, having a draconian mask policy to wait for food whilst everyone else inside takes theirs off to eat is tantamount to having a pissing section in a public pool! Where is the logic in that? So let me get this straight, everybody standing in line waiting to get their food, or to do take out must have a mask on, but the other half of the restaurant doesn't whilst eating? Pure idiocy! Germs float around for those of you who failed biology! That is the same whether you are sitting or standing last I checked! I just had the most amazing experience at this location. I've never had an employee at any restaurant offer to cover part of my bill because they did not except large bills as payment. She seemed completely unhappy as well as clueless and appears to have no social skills with the public. Subs good, BUT they work at a snails pace... took FOREVER and it wasn't that busy. There are not many choices in the area, and most are closed Sunday, so I chose to go online and order a Firehouse sub. I ordered a half Malibu with NO ONIONS and NO SPICY MUSTARD, with black olives and pepperoccini peppers added. I paid on the web, and it gave me a time of around 15 minutes to be ready. I arrived probably 20 minutes later, and it was very busy for a Sunday. I went to the web/phone pickup line and verified my order and got my combo items. My order, however, was not ready. He did verify the omissions and additions to my sandwich. I was handed the bag another 5-10 minutes after I arrived. Getting home, I was disappointed by my meal. First of all, for a sandwich, chips, a drink and a brownie, it was pricey. The sandwich had virtually no meat, and all lettuce. It also was COVERED WITH SPICY MUSTARD AND ONIONS!!!! Also, there were no peppers and no olives. I appreciate the ease of online ordering, and also like the digital beverage fountain. The choices for a guest are endless, and that is a positive. I also like that you can "round up" and donate to first responders. As a first responder, I think that's pretty darn cool (even if they are the dark side! There response on checking on the order is ALWAYS "we are working on that now" Apologies for the wait are insincere. They really don't care. I've encountered probably 4 or 5 different representatives working behind the counter at this store and none really represent Firehouse Subs in the way I suspect the owners would want them to be represented. I placed an advance online order for pickup. I placed the order at 2:30 for a 5:15 pickup. I arrived at the location at 5:20 and my order was not ready. A worker was placing another order in the pickup location and asked if that was mine. I told her no, gave my name and that I had a 5:15 pickup time. She said they had a run on online orders and were behind. No, problem, I get it. I'll wait. 15 minutes later after seeing others come in and leave with their food, I ask about my order. They don't have a record of it. I show the order on my phone and am asked if I'm at the right location. Yes, I am fully aware of where my order was placed. They check the system and find it. I'm then told that someone else may have picked up my order and she thinks they can "remake" it and would I like the order "remade"? It's now almost 6 and yes, I would like my order "remade" because since you didn't have a record of it, I'm fairly certain it was never made. 15 minutes later lots of other people have placed their orders and left. I ask again for an ETA on my food and I am told they have to make the orders in the order they came in! If I had just placed the order I get that but I pointed out that I had placed my order several hours before and my pickup time was an hour ago and therefore it seems to me that my order should take priority. They then made my order but the order also ended up being incorrect. My sub had tomatoes when it should not, there was no oil, vinegar, mustard, green peppers, or chopped pickles on it. My husbands had onions when it should not have and was missing olives and the dressing. I'm not sure how my daughter's was because she was late for work due to the wait and didn't get a chance to eat hers until after 10pm. I was offered a free cookie but I declined.
