I wish there was a zero star option. This was the absolute WORST experience I've ever had at any restaurant. We were a family of six traveling through, stopped for our usual firehouse favorites (we live in NE Florida). We waited over an HOUR for our food. Staff were on their phones, no system in place. Two families walked out. When I asked for a refund (nicely) I was told I'd have to wait (by female manager) until every order was made "she's gonna have to wait!" She yelled. My options were to wait for food or wait for refund while our order hadn't even been started. I left with four starving children and no refund, in an unpacked firehouse at 2 pm. Go ANYWHERE else. Literally. Now I'm stuck battling with Citibank in a dispute for a wasted $78. Rude. Rude. Rude. read more

The lady working the register was very helpful in helping us determine what would be best to order for our group, as this was our first time at a Firehouse Subs. I understood being a little slow in service since it was around six pm on a Monday evening but this was the worst food I ever was served at a Firehouse. Almost no meat or chesse on my Steak and Cheese Sandwich and my soup was barely warm. We won't go back to that store. read more

EXTREMELY rude employee, Chakeema, attitude from the moment we walked in. We asked for fries she said "we don't have fries it's broken" so my husband told me they're out of fries, she sternly stated "I DIDNT SAY WE WERE OUT I SAID ITS BROKEN!" It just went downhill from there when she screwed up our order and blamed us for it. A business selling anything taking your money should not be speaking to people that way. Not going back. EDIT: I called back and spoke to a manager, I explained everything that happened and I let her know it was for her benefit to help improve her store because I wasn't going back there. After I was finished it was dead silence. I asked if she was still there and she said and I quote: "yeh I'm just not going to get into it" a MANAGER said this! WHAT?! Take this info as you wish, but rest assured you will get attitude from employees AND management and they do not appreciate your hard earned money being spent there. read more

He had left My Wife on Hold the entire time. He Picked up the Phone, and took Her order. 10, or so Minutes Later I Saw Someone place a bag on a Machine behind the Counter. never in my life have i had to wait almost 30 mins for a sub to be made and the person that was making the subs was playing in his hair and fixing the food another customer had to ask him if he could wash his hands and put on gloves. The sub was pretty good read more

never had a problem here always ate here on the road, service always good, food was always great I'd driver extra ways to come here because the service was never better, but the new guy running the register so slow and always get my order wrong no matter how many times I say, he gets mad and sasses off and rolls his eyes when you correct him, not good service or anything, when he had to clean up he snatched the broom and rolled his eyes at me when I ain't done nothing. I'm new to Florida. This was the first time I ever visited a Firehouse Subs restaurant. I went with a friend and ordered a large Tuna Sub. Oh my word!!! This sub was awesome! !!!! They didn't skimp on the amount of tuna AND the tuna salad was made a bit differently from other places, too. The difference was that this tuna salad had chunks of tuna fish mixed into the mashed tuna. What a flavor difference this made!!!!! This was the first tuna sub in years where I could really taste the tuna fish, with the mayo being the "backup" and not the star attraction (as is the case at many other sub shops). I asked for my sub to be layered with tomatoes, onions, peppers, lettuce, ....and any other veggie they had. The cheese was Provolone. Normally I would get Cheddar or Swiss cheese when ordering a tuna sub, but since this one came with Provolone I decided to keep it. A couple of bites later had me convinced that Provolone was THE perfect cheese for this subs' flavor-profile. This large & well-packed sub cost about $14 and was well-worth every cent. The bread was very fresh and flavorful, the veggies were firm and fresh as if right out of the garden. This sandwich shouted "QUALITY" and I plan to be back often now that I know about Firehouse Subs. . read more

Ordered at 12:01pm on a Friday, and got my food at 12:33. So basically took a half hour to get my food. Be sure to be ok with waiting... the food was good, but for a fast food place, this is not fast. read more

This location is a sorry disgrace, sandwiches are sloppily throw together, ingredients taste old, ranch taste watered down, over all the food here is absolute garbage compared to any other fire house location I have ever been too. Stopped here for lunch on a long driving trip with the dog. Love a good firehouse sub. This location was less crowded than most I have visited. I think it primarily serves highway traffic as it is not located in a highly populated area. The restaurant is large and kept clean. Even the bathrooms, which is important for a road trip stop. The staff were friendly and in good humor. They have TVs up for viewing during your meal if you choose to eat in. We even chatted a bit about how the college football games were going. We had been following them on the radio so catching a few minutes of them the TV was a bonus. Our subs were made fresh and were toasty and warm. I had the turkey and cheese and was really happy with it. Since we had the dog, we had to find a curb outside to sit on to eat our meal. Don't know if city ordinance prohibits it, but a table or two outside would be really helpful. read more

As the other reviewer said its the best place in macclenny for subs. Of course its the only other place for subs besides subway. Reaching far here macclenny!! The subs aren't that great. I cant stand a steamed sub, its just wrong. The only thing this place has going for it, is its cherry limeade and pulled pork sandwich on a massive Hawaiian sweet roll. Its topped with pepper jack cheese and coleslaw. Really awesome and messy. If this sandwich didn't exist, i wouldn't waste my time walking into this chain restaurant. read more

I was happy to find this sandwich shop in MacClenny. It had a decent lunch crowd. Nothing beats Jimmy Johns for speed, but the guys behind the counter were friendly and efficient. I ordered a turkey and cheese. The small was only 4" so I upgraded to a medium. It was just your standard sub sandwich, but the ingredients were very fresh, the atmosphere was interesting with the fireman's motif, and I liked that they offered to donate your change to a first responder's fund. They bring your food to your cute table with a Dalmatian printed tabletop. I'll be back next time I'm in town. read more

Passing through this part of Florida and tried Firehouse Subs for the first time ever. Person taking order seemed dazed and confused and asked the same questions multiple times. She explained that due to "Supply Chain Issues", they had no lettuce, so I instead asked for spinach which I was told they do not offer. Ordered a large Italian sub with regular toppings. Sandwich maker wore pitch black aviator sunglasses which seemed like a bizarre look within a business. Came home, got halfway through the sub and told my wife that I was considering sticking my finger down my throat as the sub was slimy and gross. Guessing this was not the typical Firehouse Subs experience, but doubt that I can compel myself for a second try. Even typing this makes my stomach churn. Being adjacent to a Winn Dixie, I'd suggest that this sub shop pick up some iceberg lettuce and chop it up for use on their sandwiches. read more

The food is great and the restaurant is clean, but the service is slow. From the time my order was placed and paid for to the time I had my sandwich, 19 minutes passed and there were more staff than customers while I was waiting. I love Firehouse in Macclenny. But my experience tonight was not good. My husband and I both ordered the 'pair', sandwich and soup. They brought the sandwiches out and said... we ran out of soup so we are heating some now. Great, I'm thinking, we will get some fresh hot soup! Not the case... long after we finished our sandwiches, the soup finally comes out... COLD! Not just cold but chalky cold. That stinks! Why not offer something different if they knew they were out of what we ordered ‍ needless to say, the soup was not edible. I suppose we will grab a snack somewhere else later! read more

This ia probably the biggest Firehouse Subs Ive ever been in. Its always clean and the staff is the usual friendly type. The sandwiches are always consistent with other Firehouses. It just seems like it takes longer than it should. Usually about 5-8 minutes to get your sub. Not going to let that ruin my review though. The Steamer is my choice. Its always hot and fresh. The bread is fresh and just the right consistency. They also have the fancy Coke machines. I get the sweet tea..just like granny makes.. :) read more

This place is the talk of the town ! I hear they set a company record natiionally for opening day and for the first week in business. Right there in little ole Macclenny Florida - 30 miles west of Jax where Fireshouse started. Had the Steak and Cheese, Meatball and Hook and Ladder while I was in town. Excellent ! It's the place to go in this little town ! Friendly service ! Hard to beleive they just opened. Everyone seemed to be at the top of their game. Wish I had one closer to me in Texas ! read more

This is your typical firehouse, prices are the same and the taste is, as always, awesome. But where my experience was awesome in was the customer service. Even though they were really busy when we came, the guy who checked us out, Timothy, was beyond amazing. Greeted us with a good attitude and took our order. After getting it, my wife noticed it had Mayo on it even though the description on the menu didn't call for Mayo. Of course, Timothy came around all tables and made sure they were good. We went last night and we all loved our subs! Delicious! And the service is unmatched! We were greeted by a blondeheaded girl, I didn't catch her name, but you could tell she was just happy to be there. She took our order with so much happiness. She should really work for Chick-fil-A lol. We also had one of our subs brought to us that was supposed to be taken to go, but brought to us instead. The young man who brought the subs out to us kept apologizing over and over again for the mistake. He was so polite and we assured him it was perfectly fine. I LOVE THIS RESTAURANT!! Everything tastes so good! It feels like I'm eating a 12 inch angel with extra mayo. On the 8th day, God ate Firehouse Subs, what a blessing. The owners do a great job and I really believe they have a 'leg up' on the competition. The cashier Timothy is so sweet and nice and he is so amazing just like the rest of the staff. The beef and cheddar brisket makes me wanna slap my mama but I still live in her basement so I can't do that.
