I ordered a large French dip and was given a very small cup of au jus and when I asked about an additional cup I was told it would be an additional $1. I was given the same amount of au jus that you get for a small, you would think when you order a large they would increase the dip accordingly. There was no flavor in the sandwich or au jus. I will not order this again. The lady at the counter had to call the guy from the back 4 times before he would come out and take my order. It is hard to believe the lack of Customer Service. Overpriced? You bet. Worth it? Oh, yes. We're small eaters so we often bring it home and put it on smaller sandwich bread but their bread is delicious as well. I love the personality and atmosphere of the staff; I've never had a negative moment with them. And it doesn't take long to earn a free sandwich, either! (In fact, right now my reward card has enough for a large!) Also they take extra care to make sure the place stays clean. From what I understand, it can be stressful to work there, causing higher- than- normal turnover. For this reason, as well as those listed above, PLEASE tip these folks! I love Firehouse Subs. The Hook and Ladder is my favourite. This is a great location with friendly employees. Very clean. Even with a long line, they get you out the door pretty quickly. Just like all the other Firehouse Subs, they have that awesome Freestyle Coca-Cola Machine... love those! Only once has our order every been screwed up. We were home before we realized we had the wrong sandwiches. Hubby called and talked to the manager who was very nice. I had already taken my insulin, so I had to wait. There was no time to go back and get new sandwiches, so we opted to eat the ones we had been given. Hubby explained my insulin problem to the manager and why we couldn't come back right then and he took hubby's name and the next time we went in, he replaced our sandwiches at no charge. You pay a bit more to eat at Firehouse but at least the food is good and consistent. We normally order online and pick up. The subs are usually always ready when we get here. The one thing I like about Firehouse is they have two entrance/exit - At least until sunset. I've never dined in here before so I can't speak on experience but the staff is always nice. read more

Although not always the cheapest place for a sub I usually enjoy the Hook & Ladder or the Meatball subs from Firehouse. Today, I tried the Firehouse Hero which is described as the following USDA Choice roast beef, smoked turkey breast, Virginia honey ham, and melted provolone, served Fully Involved. Fully Involved® - Loaded complete with mayo, deli mustard, lettuce, tomato, onion, and a kosher dill pickle on the side. It sounded good upon ordering but in my opinion steaming of the meat takes away from some of the flavor you usually get from roast beef and turkey. The sub was just okay for me. The service at this restaurant was great. The woman who took my order greeted me pleasantly and took my order accurately. She also delivered the sub to my table and was very attentive. If I ever have a hankering for Firehouse I'd visit this location again. It was cleanly kept and the staff was nice. I did not have to use the toilet during this visit but I did wash my hands so now for my new review feature: Doo-able or Undoo-able...a review of restaurant bathrooms in case you have to poop. This location offers a one user room with toilet only (no urinal). The restroom is in a little section isolated in the back of the restaurant so you can be a little discrete if you disappear for a few minutes. It didn't smell the best but the toilet was clean with no visible stains. In my opinion based off discretion and cleanliness, if needed, this site is Doo-able! read more

If you have never been to Firehouse Subs, it was started by Firemen and features primarily subs served warm (my fav) and cold. Although, in recent years, they have tried to spice-up their menu with new items such as the under 500 calories items. However, the classics are solid: Hook and Ladder, Engineer, Firehouse Hero. The subs also come with a pickle spear. YAY! Yes, it doesn't take much to make me happy. They used to offer free sub on the day of your birthday so long as you present a valid id. In keeping with the times, they have changed their policies to include a rewards program. You have to be signed up to the program to get a free medium sub, no strings attached. However, the perk of the program is you are able to redeem within a week instead of on the actual day of your birthday. This location is spacious and pretty well-kept. For years I would go there based on her making me feel like I was more than just another regular customer. That woman knew my order the minute I would walk in or call in my order I never had to tell her what I wanted... which was really nice because most places dont remember those things. I have never been happy with this particular Firehouse Subs -- music is too loud, TV is going -- but the last straw for me was walking into the store, going to the register and being ignored. The gal was ordering drinks on an ipad, turning her back to me to reach into the cooler to pull more drinks to order and didn't bother to acknowledge me or say, "I'll be with you in a moment." After standing there for some time, I put my money back in my wallet and quietly walked out. Got in my car and deleted their rewards app from my phone. Why should I over-pay for a miniature sandwich and be treated so rudely when I can go to Chick-Fil-A, eat cheaper and always be treated like they are glad to see my money walk in the door. read more

If I could give this location no stars I would I had ordered my sub and it was made incorrectly so I asked if it could be made right and the manager her name was Jay just laughed at me and told me to take the tomato and onion off if I didn't want it. That is unacceptable.
