We came on 5/4/24, I ordered food to go for my family and I. Our order came out to $42.31, I paid with my debit card and for some reason their system stopped working and it said my payment didn't go through. The receipt printed and I received a notification from my bank that the money was taken out. The lead then called the manager and she asked us to stay until the manager got there. The whole time I was checking my bank to make sure the money didn't go back in. It continued to say that I paid, once the manager got there he immediately got to work figuring out the issue. Everything ended up being correct, he said the money did get taken out. The employees were kind the whole time but it was just a big inconvenience having to stay there the whole time and wait while they figured out their issue. It was pretty good. Got the Hook and Ladder light, it would have been very good but even though I like honey ham this particular ham was too sweet for me. I asked for peppers and if they would have put more then they did, i believe it would have been perfect. The balance of the pepper and honey would have even the flavor out. My husband had the barbecue sauce one and it was pretty good, even with out sauce cause I don't like barbecue (he does and he thought it was delicious). Really disappointed in this location. It's my first time here and I will not be eating here again. The signs posted about what they are out of are not professional or clean. I completely understand that we are in the middle of a pandemic but if you're going to operate your business, take pride in it. I should have walked out without ordering but I didn't. To the young women working, please do not ask for my receipt back because you "ran out of receipt paper" and use the same gloves to make my food! I had it folded in my pocket when I handed back. This was such a huge fail. I wanted to finally try Firehouse Subs since we don't have one in A.V. it is kind of far but this was the perfect opportunity. We were going to the Hollywood Bowl and they allow food. So, I placed my order Wednesday evening to pick up Thursday at 1:30pm. We get there at 1:40 ish and I do not see my order in the pick up area. I stand in line and ask for it. The girl answers "oh, it's not ready because we wait for you to show up before we make it" It sounded like a lie off the bat but I was in a good mood until more than 20 minutes pass and we are still waiting. Meanwhile a guy walks in and picks up his order. I get up and ask a different girl to explain how "rapid pick up works" I explain what the other girls said. She calls her out and the girl admits the are behind. No apology, just a sheepish look on her face. She hands me my order, at 30ish minutes of waiting and when I open at the concert, it is all wrong. Missing my pickles btw, sides missing since I asked for both dry so they would not get soggy. My sandwich had the soggiest bottom bread, I tried to eat but tasted terrible (Jamaican Jerk Turkey). More of a 3.5 stars, but I rounded up because the workers were so nice! Boyfriend and I came here around 1pm for lunch. It was our first time and the workers were very nice and gave us great suggestions. Boyfriend got a medium New York Steamer, no mustard, on a wheat roll. I got a medium tuna sub, no mustard and no pickles, on a wheat roll. Both subs came out to ~$16. While waiting for our subs, I got a good look around the restaurant. I LOVE the decor, a lot of firefighter murals and decor. My favorite part is the Dalmatian-print table tops! They're so adorable. Once we received our subs, we started eating. My boyfriend really enjoyed his sub. There was a good ratio of the brisket and pastrami compared to the other toppings. My tuna sub was okay. It had a little too much of a relish-taste for me, and it was a little too watery. The tuna kept falling out of my sub when I would take a bite. My favorite part about the meal was the wheat bread. It was soft and fluffy with every bite. Overall, the meal was kind of expensive. I've only came here two or three times so far which is so surprising because after my first visit I knew that this was my new favorite sandwich place in the high desert! I have only tried turkey sandwiches with the same toppings every time but hey that what I get all sandwich places so I don't care too much about variety but quality. I think their bread and fresh ingredients is what makes this place so much better than their competitors. Plus the sandwiches are a very decent size for the price. Every time I've been here, me and whoever I am with share a large sub and it is more than enough food. They have a rewards program which is always nice. I walked into the store to order and was greeted by a very very rude lady Monica that claims to be the "manager" she was upset that I was in the phone and not ready to order, there was no one else in the store, I wasn't holding anyone up! I work for hospice and was helping a patient, I wasn't just chatting for the fun of it! The other younger girl I believe her name is Melissa took my order, she was very pleasant.
