It's a little hole in the wall that has been here for a while now. It was my first time walking into the establishment and we automatically were greeted. I love that! An employee came on over, said hello and asked what we would like to order. My husband and I ordered a 12 inch pastrami sub, an 8 inch Philly cheesesteak sub, 8 onion rings, and a small order of fried zucchini. We waited about 10 minutes and it smelt so good in there. We received our order and took it home. All I can say is WOW! We wish we have visited this place a lot sooner. The flavors are SO good and tasteful. We definitely give this place a 10/10. I have been coming here since it opened about 30 years ago. It was started by a Korean lady and her Air Force husband. They were very nice the the served OUTSTANDING food. There is new ownership, higher prices, they canceled the loyalty cards, and they tried to change the 30 year old menu, and realized it was a mistake and went back to the old numbers all their customers knew. The food is still good but the service is not very good. I called 9 times for a carry out and never got through. I came in, they were not busy and I reported the phone was probably off the hook. The guy at the register didn't seem to care or try to fix it. And two more calls while I was there to test it did not go through. That sucks and they wasted 30 mins of my time for nothing. This place comes highly recommended by several people I know so I finally decided to try it. I first ordered an 8 inch #3 American Cold Cut Sub which consisted of mortadella, salami, and ham. This sandwich was stacked generously with all the meats. It includes lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and cheese with a house dressing. The bread was softer in texture and could have benefited with a light toasting but it was a good foil for all the fresh ingredients. I am glad I ordered the 8 inch sub because I would not have finished the 12 inch. I was already full after eating just half the sandwich. However, the 12 inch subs are a better deal for just a few dollars more. I returned a few days later because I was intrigued by the bulgogi rice bowl on the menu. I ordered the large portion so I could have leftovers later. The bulgogi had a nice balanced flavor of both salty and sweet. The bulgogi is made to order and comes with onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms served over steamed rice. A small serving of teriyaki sauce came with this bowl. The sauce has a nice ginger flavor along with a few sesame seeds for crunch. It is a good sauce to provide a bit of a flavor contrast but the bulgogi really stands well by itself. This is a good tasting rice bowl and I would order it again. Bulgogi also can be ordered as a sandwich as well. I also ordered the #32 Grilled Cheesesteak (No Veggie) Sub and the #33 Pastrami Sub. The Grilled Cheesesteak was a simple, good tasting sub with tender ribeye and cheese only. It is one I would definitely order again. The Pastrami Sub, unfortunately, was very salty. Hard pass on the pastrami. Both subs had the bread lightly grilled and that made a big difference. Again, the subs were made to order so the meats were fresh off the grill. The staff here is very friendly. This place gets busy during lunch so if you want to dine in, it is a matter of timing. Online ordering is available so takeout may be the only option at that hour. How are you going to charge me $16 dollars for this philly steak and not even fill it all the way with meat? It gets worse and worse everytime i go. If i order extra meat (basically how the sandwich should look) it comes out to $20 for just a sandwich. So I have to start off by saying they don't have cheese wiz which seems like it would pretty easy to get and keep warm in a pot.....the service was good and the place is a bit old inside but overall the flavor was good on the sub. I got a side of zucchini which was lacking batter and only gave you a few for a $6 dollar upgrade. The provolone was not melted and honestly wanted to send it back but ate half anyways. Still loving this place! Again, amazing Philly subs, the best part of this place, but I think that's obvious due to the name lol. Their fried zucchini, French fries, and onion rings are also a must order side! They have Boba, which is why the kids ask to come back time and time again. I still recommend staying away from the burgers though. Stick to the subs and sides. I've not actually eaten in the restaurant, we usually order over the phone and pick up but the inside is very small and very worn out. It's usually quite loud but is not unbearable. read more

I agree with the reviews that say fresh ingredients because I've never tasted fresh tasting fries like this except at In n Out. Actually, let's cross out in n Out. The fries at this place are bigger cut and therefore firmer. The zucchini fries are good too. You can't go wrong with the subs. We tried several subs: the Philly, bulgogi, and chicken teriyaki. Just wholesome, perfect bites with juicy meat and string of meaty mozzarella. Yeah, this is better than the Philly steak places in Philly, at the famous Philly marketplace. Mucho mejor! The guy at the counter that they put in charge of "customer service" is HORRIBLE!! I stood at the counter literally for 5ish minutes without being greeted. He was in the freezer right in front of me so I said to him "hello am I invisible" he responded with "I have orders" I then said "I understand that, but you should at least greet your customer- let me know you see me - tell me you'll be right with me". He said "I did" I said "I didn't hear you if you did". When he finally came to the counter he continued to argue with me. I asked him for his name and he just ignored me like I didn't exist. He gave me my total I handed him my cash and asked again "what is your name". He again proceeded to ignore me. I still haven't let go of my cash and he then said "do you want your order?" I said "I don't, not anymore, but my children have nothing to do with your bad attitude". I let go of my cash and turned to yelp to tell you how horrible the customer service employee is here. Another employee overheard the whole "conversation" and said he would handle what happened. He told me he witnessed the whole thing and would take care of it. Can't believe we lived near here for many years and never tried this place. It is so delicious! The portion size is huge and great flavor. Inside the restaurant is a seating area with a few booths. It was busy when we went but got a seat. We tried the fried mushrooms( so good) and the philly cheesesteak (also delicious). It was my first time here and I was immediately impressed by the Philly Cheesesteak. The meat is so tender, and that takes a special effort. The meat is finely chopped and grilled with green bell pepper, onions and small slices of mushroom. The taste is mild and rich because of mayo, cheese and a soft bun. I chose swiss. The fried mushrooms are moist and juicy inside which I really liked. The sign outside reads "Eastern Style Subs." Someday I'd like to try the originals at Geno's and Pat's in Philly. read more

My first time, in the mood for a hot pastrami and no where to go here in the High Desert. I read enough reviews, especially the one about the Galasso bread. Figured that foodie knew food. I ordered the pastrami and Philly Cheesesteak of course. Per my son, Pepper jack on the Philly, and I was going to have my pastrami straight up-pastrami, pickles and mustard. I usually don't adulterate pastrami, but they happen to have Swiss cheese. It was just enough cheese, not too much like some places that glue the sandwich together with too much cheese. Very tender, salty as pastrami is, loved the bread and meat ratio. The Philly's amazing and filled with chopped, tender beef. Very tasty! Quick service. I forgot to ask if they have peperoncinis. This place was okay at best. We got a Philly cheesesteak (the one thing they should be good at) and a normal cold sub with bacon. The cold sub was better than the Philly, and I guarantee any day that Jersey Mike's is way better than their cold sub. It lacked red wine vinegar and a relish spread that Jersey's has. The Philly only had flavor from the onions and bell peppers (that we had to ask for, would've been onions only). The steak was dry and had no flavor, NO SEASONING AT ALL. At least throw on some bouillon. And for a Philly, I would at least expect to bite into a layer of cheese. Didn't taste cheese AT ALL. AND don't get me started on the boba. We got a Thai tea just to try it out and it was the most disgusting drink I've ever had. It tasted like a bubblegum milk tea that was way too sweet and way too creamy. Just learn how to make Thai tea instead of using powders for everything, I can only imagine what the other flavors taste like. If you've read this far, thank you for considering my opinion. I was always a fat kid and am now relatively athletic so my diet has always been big. Im also half Mexican and half Filipino. I know flavor, this place doesn't have it. Never coming back. read more

The food was horrible, had a pastrami the other day because it was highly recommended but it was the most driest and salty pastrami I have ever had. Went back today because my grandson wanted fried zucchini and a Philly cheesesteak it had no peppers whatsoever I ordered a cheeseburger, it had absolutely no flavor the only good thing were the onion rings because the zucchini were only four little ones the size of my ring finger. Do not recommend this place for having a good meal Burger King makes a better cheeseburger than this place. No stars. read more
