Another new sandwich place up the hill. We needed another one of these like a hole in the head, lol. Anyway... Bread is slightly better than Subway's bread, slightly worse than Jersey Mike's (and no, Subway doesn't make their bread from yoga mat material, though all other fast food joints do). Corned beef is good, but why it's just called brisket in some places on their website/menu idfk. Where I come from, brisket is a different, separate thing. I like the huge selection of hot sauces when you dine in, but the 10s are pretty weak and they don't have Humboldt Hot Sauce (emerald is my favorite). Place was clean and service was friendly. Sandwich took a while to be ready even though the bread wasn't toasted or anything. Unfortunately though the corned beef and pastrami are not bad, their bread (or anything else up the hill) does not compare to Lee's Sandwiches and their fresh, hot, crispy on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside French baguettes. And their Garden Grove branch is open 24 hours. (And amazing French coffee, passion fruit juice, basil seed Jello, and free reusable bags with $20 purchase.) I guess I will still be trekking to the Disneyland area to get my sandwich on. read more

Sandwiches are very good. I got the turkey bacon and my husband got the meatball sub. We both loved our sandwiches. They taste fresh and the bread is soft. The restaurant was clean and the workers were very nice even though we came in 10 minutes before closing. read more

We ordered to go for a Medium Firehouse Hero and a Medium Roast Beef. Both with a drink and chips. We received a phone call a few minutes later that they did not have the firehouse hero available nor roast beef. We changed the subs to a ham and a tuna. Upon food arrival, we were missing our drinks and chips. Our dasher was sweet enough to go back. I opened my tuna sub and there was only a tablespoon of tuna on the sub. The sub cost me $10. It was not a $10 sub. I usually don't complain about my food but this got me very frustrated. It's is NOT okay to give your customers less than worthy food. We ended up calling and getting our chips and drinks. They stated "the drinks and chips weren't on the receipt" but our dasher told us when he arrived the 2nd time for our drinks and chips, the employee knew which chips they were from the top of her head. We never told our dasher our chip preferences. This is the first and last time I spend money here. read more

This is my 3rd time at this location. Excellent service from Tee. She made good recommendation; BBQ brisket sandwich (combo 10) is hot and delicious. Just want to give an update. Still love fire house's food however, I met a very rude young gentleman working there on Sunday. Clearly hated his job, and customer service was not his strong point. I was very nice to him and he was just short and rude and having a bad day. If i pop in and he's working i'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Ordered the beef an cheddar and New York steamer. The beef had great flavor and could taste the cheddar but really no cheese to be seen on the sandwich. The New York steamer was missing the mustard and thousand island dressing. Staff was friendly and service was good. Will try again for better quality or its back to jersey mikes. read more

I am constantly disappointed with this location. They are always under staffed making the wait to order just as long as the wait to receive your food. I have ordered online and the order hasn't even been started when I arrive to pick it up. On today's visit, their soda machine was out of ice and we were told that the soda is cold it will be fine, but the soda tasted bad, the employee ended up telling us the ice was why the soda tasted weird. We ended up going next door and purchasing drinks from pieology. The restaurant did refund us for the cost of the drinks, but it's just always something with this place! They do have yummy sandwiches though! read more

Very tasty subs. This is the place for hot sandwiches. Well they're more warmed up than hot but very tasty. Don't get me wrong, this is NOT as good as Jersey Mike's but it's less costly, has a good meat to toppings ratio, and nice variety of subs. The Italian is very good sandwich to start with. Just be aware they do put deli mustard on their subs, which for some can leave quite a bitter taste. Of course yellow mustard is there to substitute. If Mike's is too expensive for the occasion, this is the place for a sandwich in the High Desert. They also have a special (at the time of this writing) for a different signature sub for $5.55 each day of the week, pretty good deal. Friendly staff and speedy service too. read more

When this place first opened I used to work there. The food was great. However the most recent few times I have been there the subs have not been up to par. I to-goed the engineer and the hook and ladder. The sautéed mushrooms tasted a bit off as well as the lettuce and tomatoes. Especially when you to-go the subs they are very soggy and just taste very bland. I have made the subs there so I can see why it happens as most of the subs are steamed but something needs to be done to fix the soggy to-go subs. I raised my star rating to three stars only because I'm going on a hunch and saying that if the subs are eaten at the restaurant they "might" taste better? As well as the customer service continues to be absolutely fantastic. Also PLEASE bring back the hearty subs they were fantastic when I used to work there! Nonetheless, do to the fact that this place is so far from where I live I probably will not be going back. read more
