The Havanazucar Cuban restaurant (with a full menu) is located down the street toward 7th street, but THIS specific location has sandwiches. The menu is smaller, great for commuters, and located conveniently off the 15 freeway and next to a gas station. The quality of the food equates to its restaurant. The Pan Con Pollo (chicken sandwich) is a fullfilling grilled chicken breast sandwich. The chicken is this thinly sliced, delicious, between sliced Cuban bread and topped with mustard, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions. The menu mentions jalapeños sauce and cheese, but this time neither was apparent, but still a great sandwich. The Pan Con Bistec (steak sandwich) is not as fulfilling, but has thinly sliced sirloin steak, with grilled onions, and a very good chimichurri sauce. It is served with the same cuban bread as the Pan Con Pollo, but this one is with and crispy potato (pretty sure they were plaintains) strips. The green sauce is a good addition. You can dip your fries or fried plantains, a corner of your sandwich, or whatever you choose, it was a good addition. We also ordered an appetizer: Papas Rellenas. We ordered 4 pieces of potato puff balls. They were stuffed with grounded Cuban style beef cooked, with slices of bell pepper, served with that delicious green sauce. Found this place while looking for something to eat near my hotel. This Cuban spot just opened and I can tell it will have a huge customer flow soon. They specialize in Cuban sandwiches but have other entrees as well. I got the Pan con Pollo sandwich that was very flavorful. It also came with plantain chips and a garlic sauce dip. New Cuban sandwich shop located at a gas station with the same owners as their first restaurant on Main Street. There are many items available here that is off of their restaurant menu. The drive-thru makes this location very convenient for fast, efficient service. I ordered a variety of items to try: Pan con Lechon with Mariquitas, Rabo Encendido, Lechon Asado, and Ham Croqueta. All items were delicious and the same in taste and quality as their main location. The staff is very friendly and professional. The food comes out from the kitchen with a minimal wait even in the drive-thru. There are a few tables inside for dine-in. I got the Cubano sandwhich as I always tend to do my first time at a Cuban restaurant. The size of the sandwhich was great as was the price. The the roasted pork had good flavor and was juicy, not dry. You get a choice of plantain chips or fries and it comes with a garlic cream dipping sauce that went well with sandwich. The staff was very nice and came out to check that everything was okay. The restaurant is small but wasnt very busy during early lunch hour. We love the Pan con Lechon is out of this world! Bread is perfectly toasted and pressed and the pork was cooked perfectly. I ordered the Caribbean chicken salad and it was amazing! Chicken was marinated and seasoned then cooked on a flat top. The greens with mango and dressing make it a perfectly healthy but super tasty option! Might be salty for some but I enjoyed it with their tasty mora and sweet plantains. The mora had bits of bacon or ham in it and the maduros were perfect. While in the area, stumbled upon Havanazucar Cuban Sandwiches. Small place, very clean and very friendly staff. We decided to order two different sandwiches and split them. First up the traditional Cubano with roasted pork on toasted bread, including the expected pickle. Also tried the Pan con Bistec. This had one of the best chimichurri sauces I've ever had! Only hiccup with this one was one of the pieces of beef on the sandwich was a little tough due to some gristle but once we got that out of the way, the sandwich was good and very flavorful. Both sandwiches came with a ton of seasoned french fries, you know the kind that you can't stop eating even though you're stuffed? Yeah, that kind. I don't know what they put on those fries, but they were delicious. The staff was very attentive, checking in with us to make sure everything was as we expected. If you're in the area or just passing through, and want a quick bite, this is a sure bet. Tip: With the amount of french fries you get, you could easily split a sandwich between two people and save room for one of their delicious shakes or appetizers.
