Having just moved to victorville, we are still looking for our go to spots we can enjoy and introduce to our family and friends. Someone told us to check out Havanazucar; and I'm glad we did. We got there when they first openedEd at 11am so everything was friesh, hot and delicious. They were serving bottom-less mimosas and let me tell you something; I haven't seen my wife smile this much since we got married . The staff is friendly, attentive and kept the mimosas flowing. We wanted to try something different for lunch on a Saturday afternoon after running chores. Our order: Cubano sandwich with banana chips with a Coke. Pastrami sandwich with fries and an unsweetened iced tea First, the customer service at this small spot was great. Even though we ordered to go the cashier brought our drinks and food right to our table. Both sandwiches were top notch and muy delicioso. Cubano sandwich was filled with smoked grilled ham, Juicy roasted pork, cheese, pickles and pressed. It was served with the most amazing garlic aioli. I opted for the banana chips that were light and crispy and a perfect accompaniment to the sandwich. We also ordered a pastrami sandwich with fries. The fries were well seasoned and thin. Pastrami was so delicious however my only gripe is that it needed a touch more mustard. I shared some of my garlic aioli with my partner but hogged the rest for my other half of sandwich. Sandwiches were cooked to order, hot and fresh. The bread was soft with a slight crunch due to it being pressed. It was a very nice change from the usual burger or fried chicken fast food. Was craving a Cuban sandwich and heard about this spot, right off the 15 fwy on Main street. We walked inside and there were at least 8 tables spaciously separated. A large menu was at the front of the counter. We later realized they had a drive thru. So that convenient. The staff greeted us when we walked in. They spoke both English and spanish. We didnt have to wait long for my Cubano and platanos maduros to be prepared. It was still piping hot when I got home. The cubano had all the classic components; ham, cheese, pickles, mustard. Overall taste was decent but i felt it could have been further marinated in more seasonings. Was a bit dry instead of as juicy/tangy as i recall the ones i had in Florida. My wife and odered take out for our family which is super rare for us to do as we typically eat at home. We where pleasantly surprised when we got home and our food was hot and fresh. I found this in the way to Vegas and so excited we stopped! Everything was fantastic! It's a few minutes from the 15th but so worth it if you're traveling through the area to stop. We started with the appetizer of empanada with beef, which was stuffed with tasty picadillo! For mains I had the ropa vieja with arroz con gandules which are pigeon peas. Everything was cooked to perfection and full of flavor! My companion had the pan con lechon or pork sandwich with the slow cooked mojo pork. The bread, the pork flavor and toasting were all spot on! I haven't had Cuban food this good since moving from Florida! We loved it so much we tried their drive in sandwich shop on the way back and everything was also amazing! The restaurant was super cute decorated for the holiday but is normally decorated in Cuban flare and is very clean. Dropped in for lunch with my retired Cuban chef mother. She had the Ropa vieja with moros and sweet plantains. The meat was tender and juicy, had a great authentic Cuban flavor, nice big lunch portion that will make a nice snack tonight. A+ I tried the Cuban fried rice and was very happy with the portion size and the flavor. Loaded with goodness and super fresh and tasty. The staff was very friendly and quick. Tried this place today on a whim based off of Yelps nearby recommendations. Currently out of town and I searched for food places and found here. Happened to come at 3:30 PM, which is 30 mins before their Sunday brunch closes at 4 PM. Price is around $22.99/person, which I believe is better than 17.99$ for one ropa vieja meal? With the brunch deal you get to try all different items which is quite a steal. The vibe inside is quite homey and comfortable. Ropa vieja is pretty tasty and so are the plátanos. Cuban rice was also good, wish the beans were a bit softer though. Would definitely come here again in the future. read more

My eldest daughter was craving a Cubano sandwich so we started to Google for Cuban cuisines within the high desert. We came across Havanazucar Cuban Restaurant. So glad we did because the food was amazingly delicious. It is located in a quiet plaza. Unfortunately, a few of its surrounding businesses have gone out of business. Hope they'll be okay. Anyway, this restaurant is quite spacious inside, but you wouldn't be able to tell from the outside. Love the mauve blue and red colored bench seats! I have an eye for colors. They have a good selection of unique Cuban foods from beef to pork to seafood and so much more. They also have selective drinks and desserts. I ordered the ceviche that came with fish instead of shrimp plus chips. This was very good, but not as sweet if it was with shrimp. My eldest daugther got her Cubano sandwich with fried plantain (banana) chips... she said both sandwich and chips were very yummy! The pork was very tender and chips were either baked or air fried because it was light and crispy and not oily. I loved it so much I got two side orders of plantains to-go LOL. You bet I did! My youngest daughter got the beef stew with black beans and pan fried plantains... she said beef was very tender and tasty... she didn't care for the beans or plantains so I ate them for her... they tasted very good to me. Staff was very nice and attentive. They would check on us from time to time to make sure everything was okay. Thank you! The food is authentic and reasonably affordable. Our server was lovely, she spoke in English to me and in Spanish to our bilingual friends. The restaurant is larger than I had expected, with linen covered and paper covered dinning tables. There are booths as well as regular tables and chairs. The papa rellena was my favorite item. The yuca was delicious and both types of empanadas were good. The rice was not my favorite and I would pass on it if we visited again. My first time here and I couldn't be happier. The food and cocktails were amazing. I started off with their complimentary garlic bread which was very tasty and homemade. I ordered a pina colada. It's normally $10 but with happy hour was only $5. So I had two . For appetizers I had their beef empanadas. It came with two and a side of chimichurri sauce. Very flavorful! For my main dish I had the Loma which is their signature thin steak. It also came with a side of chimi sauce as well three sides. I picked rice and beans with tastones. 10 out of 10. The service was amazing. I was created with a friendly smile and they checked on me after every dish. I also have plenty of leftovers. The restaurant is very clean and spacious. A party of 12 walked in and they sat them immediately. Plenty of seating. I overheard that they even have a kids menu. Pizza, chicken nuggets that sort of thing. It was a lunch special, perfect portions and filling. We tried almost all the soft drinks and they were all delicious. The Inka Cola is like Mountain Dew, but more tasty.
