I stopped in on 8/31 around 4:15 pm and I truly believe Firehouse Subs has hired Zombies to work the Main Street location. HORRIBLE customer service!!! The guy taking the order walked to the cash register and just looked at me and my daughter. No "can I help you" or "any questions" he seemed so annoyed and just had a miserable personality. I said "thank you" to the other idiot working and what do you think he said? NOTHING! I also noticed the person that took my order answered the phone, ran register, made sandwiches, and NEVER put on a new pair of gloves. I will be a loyal customer to FireHouse Subs, becaue the food is amazing, and I have always experienced great customer service at other locations. Definitely will not return to the Main Street location unless they clean house and get some people that take pride in their jobs and offer great customer service. read more

I've loved firehouse subs for years but this was not a good trip at all. First time at this location. My bread looked & tasted burnt but somehow the bread was EXTREMELY soggy. I've never been so confused. On top of that my sandwich did not taste like the traditional sandwich that I've gotten multiple times from other locations in the past. So I've been to this place a few times. The first time I had it a few years ago. I got a turkey sub and I felt like I could have made a better one. I just went here recently to try it out again, and i still feel the same about it. it takes a while for the sub to come out and its nothing special just meat on bread. I have eaten at Firehouse Subs twice. Most recently was a couple of days ago on a Sunday afternoon in early March. My wife and I were hungry, and she was craving sandwiches. So we stopped here for a quick lunch. I ordered the steamer sub, which is basically a pastrami sandwich. My wife ordered a cheesesteak sandwich. I'll start off by saying that the food here is OK. Not great, not even good, but will do if hungry. My main complaint about my sandwich is that the pastrami was super thin and had very little flavor. The thinness reminded me of shaved ham slices. It definitely did not even come close to being a great sandwich or even a good sandwich. I feel similar about the cheesesteak sandwich as well. Although there was lots of meat, the sandwich lacked flavor. The cheese was flavorless and the steak was dry. We can tell that it was not freshly made. In the end, I think Firehouse Subs is just a more expensive subway. I'm not a fan of subway, but I think I would rather eat at subway. The subs at Firehouse subs were nothing special, and I do not recommend eating here unless you really need to. read more

No question about it, this was the best sub I've ever had. I had a sub with corned beef and pastrami with cheese mayo and mustard. Everything about it was amazing. The tender thin sliced meat, delicious melted cheese, and great balance of mayo and mustard. What I was most impressed with was the bread. For the most part I dislike bread on a sub because it always seems a chore to chew through or in the way of good flavor. But at Firehouse it was soft bread that really was a worthwhile part of the sandwich. I just finished eating my firehouse sub and am fighting the urge to go back and get another. read more

Terrible experience.......... I ordered a large steak and cheese sub, and they offered to include a pickle slice. After I left and started eating my food, I realized the pickle slice wasn't there and they forgot to add cheese one side of the sandwich. With all the hype around this sub shop, I found this eatery to be fair at best. My daughter picked me up a steak and cheese from there today. The portion was fine, but the quality of their sliced steak was surprisingly weak. The steak was sinewy with more gristle than I'd ever expect. If I was to order from there again, I'll absolutely avoid their cheesesteak. Can't talk to the other subs...will post my candid feedback if and when I try another variety. read more

Smokehouse Beef & Cheddar Brisket Sub was sooo good!! Odd that they asked if I wanted a Medium or Large and didn't offer a small size...?

Ate lunch here on a Thursday at about 1pm. They were not very busy. We had the jerked turkey and the hook and ladder subs. The service is very friendly and fast. The subs were brought to our table and were delicious. We had the combination meals that includes drinks and chips and cost about $20. We think it is a great value. The restaurant is very clean. The tables were wiped down and the no trash or food on the floor. Friendly service, delicious food, and very clean. We highly recommend this location and will be back. read more

I ordered an Italian sub, chips, brownie, and drink via the "pick-up option" on the Yelp app. Ordering online was easy and allowed me to select the toppings, side and drink that I wanted. First time here. Ordered a veggie sub. Drove home. Unwrapped it. Got a sub full of meat. I do not eat meat. I paid for a sub that I had to throw into the trash. Called and asked to speak to a manager. Was told that there was no manager there. Absolutely never, ever going back. Waste of time and money. Also, it took them a really long time to make it and the bread was slimy and soggy when I unwrapped it. The wet bread broke apart into two pieces and the filling fell out, so even if it had been the right sub, it looked very gross and unappetizing and hard to eat. read more

Ok, I was going to write a scathing review because our sandwich had something gross in it that wasn't supposed to be there that ended up ruining our lunch, and we were starving by that point, but I have to say that the manger made it right, and appeased us. I first went to Firehouse Subs in Manassas. That location was awesome. They made . suggestions on addition and treated me more like a welcome addition instead of a job they had to do. The sandwich was awesome. So I try the chain in Fairfax. I immediately felt likit was an imposition for them to.serve me. It might have been the Hoodie I was wearing and the sweat pants. But they finally got my order an it was okay. The sandwich was find but I felt uncomfortable being in the store. There are many franchise sub shops popping up these days. I like to eat subs for lunch and frequent all of them. I was a little disappointed with the experience at Firehouse. It is a bit of a challenge to make an order as the menu is comparatively confusing. The wait was longer than their counterparts. The sandwich seemed flattened (for lack of a better word) and the meat of lower quality. With all these great other choices, I would give this one a miss. read more

I went here for the first time and got the NY Steamer and a pulled pork sandwich. The place was empty and I was greeted immediately. The pulled pork sandwich was very salty and not good. The NY Steamer tasted like a hot dog and I didn't enjoy it *might just be me* After eating these two I had this almost burning like salty taste left in my mouth the rest of the day and it was horrible. I'm not sure if I will return and try something new, but I did not enjoy the food at all that I got. Service is friendly, staff is helpful, ordering was easy, dining area is clean, tables sit very close to one another, food is delivered to the table when ready, they have the coca-cola freestyle machines. The dining room is noisy and for some reason always a little chilly. But I've tried three different sandwiches, my son has tried two. All were great. About 50 bottles of a variety of sauces (mustards, bbqs, hot sauces-labeled 1-10 for heat) line the counter for your own variations. Priced like subway but way better food. Absolutely worst customer service experience. Waited over an hour for 2 subs and when I called customer support to get an eta they said a driver had not picked up order yet! Only reason I didn't cancel at that moment was because support promised to send new driver and new subs in 25 minutes... we'll 35 minutes later restaurant calls me to ask if I'm coming to pick up my order since no grubhub driver arrived! Let me put it this way - I'm a mostly vegetarian, but I ate the WHOLE Turkey Salsa Verde Sub that I ordered (thinking I would only eat maybe half). My son and I stopped by Firehouse Subs before catching a movie at the nearby theater. When we walked in, it seemed very much oriented to families with little kids, so we weren't expecting much. What a surprise! The meats and breads were the freshest we'd had in a long time, and the imaginative combinations very tasty and well-conceived.
