We tried this spot out today but won't be back. Ugh Firstly, it was absolutely FREEZING inside! We said something to the 5 staff and all we got in response was weak smiles. They all had on heavy coats by the way. I ordered a 6 inch heated sandwich with NO onions. Umm. It had onions. And wasn't heated. Sigh. No customer service, zero. Too many employees, obviously, but none of them working very much. We were the only customers and it took quite a while for our food. Sandwiches. Not rocket science. Stay. Away. I want to like Firehouse Subs for many reasons. I like what they stand for, I used to be a paramedic and I've worked with lots of firemen and other first responders. But they are just a lousy experience every time I try to give them another chance. The staff are the least friendly and least enthusiastic of any sub place. The time it takes them to make a sandwich compared to any of the other sub places I've tried has to be a new record in slooooooow. To top it off this visit, they got our order wrong. I watched them take it correctly I saw it appear correct on the screen in front of me. But somehow it came out wrong. Wrong bread, added tomatoes to a specific request to leave them off, added mayo to a sandwich specifically asked to leave it off, and the sandwiches both were soggy. Yuck. I'm done with Firehouse. With Jimmy Johns now right across the street there is no reason to suffer through lousy service and lousy sandwiches. read more

Placed an order through DoorDash at work. Didn't change anything- because I wanted my Hook and Ladder sandwich just the way it comes. When my order arrived- I literally got toast. No meat, no cheese, nothing but toasted bread.... So I did call the store thinking this had to be a mistake. Was told by the hateful girl who answered the phone that the order is filled the way it comes in and would not even listen to me. Had to spend my entire lunch break on chat with DoorDash who advised me that I did place my order correctly but that obviously the hateful girl at Firehouse subs did not read the order properly... seriously- though- this was insane getting this for my order. I might could've overlooked the mistake and laughed it off but the rude staff answering the phone - no way- I won't be back. You have way too many competitors nearby that are more than happy to serve me and be nice about it!! There's no reason to treat people like that. read more

My kids beg for firehouse subs. Saturday night at 9:15 we drive up and it looks closed. Chairs on top of tables "open" sign turned off. Tea urns cleaned out and we don't drink soft drinks! Foods always good but this makes me want to drive another 4 miles to the next sandwich shop or go down the street to someone who honors their store hours. read more

I walked in to this location, really hungry for lunch and craving the Engineer (my usual). I wasn't immediately greeted, which was okay (I guess). I walked up to order, as no one else was in line, and I said hi and smiled to the cashier. She did not smile or respond, but answered the telephone. The other two workers did not acknowledge either. One guy, making sandwiches, did look at me, but did not say a word or smile. I left, feeling so mad. I am in customer service and could never imagine treating someone that way, ESPECIALLY when they are the only customer in front of you. I will never come back to this location. Will NOT be returning. This was the first time I've ever had a manager tell me that they wouldn't make my order right. After handing my sub back to me and saying they couldn't remember what they put on it, I decided to not argue with them. The Battlefield Parkway location is much more organized and helpful. This is by far the worst Firehouse I've ever tried. We came in not at a busy time for them. There were 4 other customers waiting for their meals. We ordered and then had to wait literally 20 minutes for our food. There were 4 people working. I have no idea how it could take them that long to make a medium sandwich, small sandwich and 2 kid's sandwiches. I specifically asked for no mustard and when I got my sandwich there was a lot of mustard on it. I'm pregnant and I was hungry and I had to just eat it because who knows how long it would take them to make another small sandwich minus mustard. I won't be going back to this location. Poor customer service. The girl running the register would not greet anyone or smile. She would stare at who was in front of her awkwardly until you just start ordering. No can I help you or what would you like today. There were 3 people (including the cashier on front line) not 1 of them greeted me or smiled at me. I watched them with other customers as I waited and same response. They do not pay attention. The guy making food knew he was making 2 different orders but the names on the orders happen to be the same. Instead of clarifying what was ready he only stated the 1st name. Causing me to leave with the wrong order. Thankfully it was corrected (by the 2 customers ) before any food was opened. Extremely poor customer service, went there at 8.45 pm was almost empty. The lady did not even bother to say hi at first, even after having an eye contact she hardy said anything. After ordering our food with no mayo he proceeded to telling me how weird I was and I didn't know how to eat a sandwich then fills my sandwich with so much mayo it was coming out of the sides. Usually this location serves up some hot subs with great service, however, on a very recent visit this place was a wreck. First, the dining room was ugly dirty with trash on the floor and several dirty tables. Second, the cashier was having trouble with the cash register. She said something about the receipt paper was jammed and she was just writing orders on a piece of paper, but unable to take your payment. She was on the phone with someone trying to get it fixed. While waiting, noticed two of the guys making sandwiches had plastic gloves on handling the food then wiping their face and pushing their hair back. Nasty! Then, after finally paying for my order, the cashier advised that the ice machine was not working and want to know if that mattered to me? She offered a warm bottled soft drink with my combo instead. After what seemed like a long time, my sandwich was delivered to my table and it was very good. This place seems to have fallen off from good to bad. No manager was visible in the store at the time of my visit. Maybe the good workers have all moved on to the many new Firehouse Subs locations in the Chattanooga area due to expansion, or maybe they have just moved on to other employers. It's like going to "Cheers" and being able to order a sandwich! Not only is the staff super friendly, the food is delicious and served quickly! The manager Marlene is a doll and is always certain to make sure my sometimes picky orders are just as I like them. Unlike some of the OTHER nationally known sub shops, you get ACTUAL MEAT on your sandwich and TONS of it plus all the fixin's you can imagine. Great atmosphere for the whole family and a great value. Added bonus is that they give back to local fire stations. Good food and even better people! Thanks Firehouse! read more
