Came in the other night around 8:30 around closing time i would say or not! The floors were soaked in water maybe the mop wasn't properly rung out! But you can tell they attempted to mop! Wet floor signs in place which was good cause it definitely was wet!! So place our order we got the Jamaican jerk sandwich it was decent i asked for no tomatoes definitely got tomatoes my boss asked for no onions he definitely got onions! But i give the sandwich a 7/10 i got a side of mac and cheese blah 3/10 a cup of potato soup 9/10 fries instead of chips with the sandwich I'll Give those 10/10!!! They don't have ketchup i suppose!! Now customer service!! Well again they didn't get the order right but i will give it a 5/10 as we dined in the phone rang the whole entire time until 8:58 then some lady walks in pissed because it was her who had been calling she walks in while she's calling and asks why no one has picked up her call when they can clearly hear the phone ringing and it wasn't busy for them not to be able to pick up! For a quick casual meal that isn't the greasy fast food options this sub shop is a decent option. The service was good as it was prompt and our orders were correct. The ambiance is ok with a nice theme and cause going for it but it could be cleaner. I enjoy the smokehouse beef and cheddar brisket sub, which I normally do not like sweet BBQ sauce or BBQ sauce in general but it's pretty decent with the mayo combo. My husband enjoys the steak and cheese sub. If you like spicy the hot sauce bar is a nice touch. Also, I personally like they have the customized soda fountain with root beer and cream soda options that are "sugar free" since I don't really drink soda and if I do I prefer diet since regular tastes too sugary. If you are in the area for a quick meal and don't want to hit up a greasy fast food option this might be it for you. read more

Very gristly meat on the sub, and the bread was wet on one side. Spent $20 on a dinner I couldn't really eat.

My wife and I split a hook and ladder salad with oil and vinegar and extra onions, plus a bowl of chili and a pop. It was wonderful, very low carb, and perfect for lunch. They were very helpful to get everything right and we appreciate them. read more

I've been to this location a couple of times now and have had great experiences both times. The first time we ever tried Firehouse Subs we had placed a catering order for Christmas Eve. Very good. The second time was this weekend and 4 of us each had something different. Bread, meats and toppings have always been fresh. We enjoyed their non-sub options including chili and mac 'n cheese, too. Dessert options looked a little stale, otherwise I may have grabbed something. They also offer salads and a potato soup that I want to try. Firehouse blows Subway and Jimmy John's out of the water, in my opinion. If you don't see something you want on their menu, I bet you can ask them to customize. The restaurant was clean, with plenty of tables. We took our food to go. Super friendly staff who welcomed each person/group as they entered the restaurant. Highly recommend. read more

Looked at the website to see what I could see, and there were a number of interesting options. I've never gone to the location on the NE side of Cedar Rapids, so it was brand new to me. And this location opened just this week. I chose the #3 Steamer combo. Boy, it looked pretty big in the photos, but not so big when it came to the table. But it was pretty good, but not extra filling. The meats seemed to be fairly fresh as well as the bread. It was busy around 6PM on a Sunday, but the order arrived in a very reasonable amount of time. The combo was over $9, which seemed a bit much. But it is 2016. :( I'd go back again, to try some of the other sandwiches. read more

We have been ordering Firehouse subs for several years and have never been disappointed!

I've been here twice and both times were amazing. The staff was super friendly and very entertaining while I was waiting for food. I had the corner New Yorker with corned beef, pastrami and Swiss cheese. It was beyond delicious. I also tried the broccoli cheese soup which was good. A little pricier than other sandwich shops but worth every penny! I also like that they give a portion of their profits to fire fighters. I'll definately be returning read more

This stuff is on fire! Somebody call the fire department !!! This was my first trip to Firehouse Subs and what a trip it was. As soon as we walked into the door we were greeted enthusiastically -- a nice and welcome surprise. The employees, all three of them, were very friendly, helpful, and quick on their feet. They even shouted good bye even after we made it half way through the door before they noticed we were leaving. They also noticeably stayed busy during our short dine-in visit. It wasn't incredibly busy at 9pm but these guys still took up the entire time actually working all while looking like they were having a good time. A+++ service. It literally could not have been better. To the three young men working, whoever you are -- be proud of yourselves. The food is delicious. It's definitely a step up from Subway or Casey's. Everything from the nests to the vegetables to the sauces -- they test fresh and of a higher quality. I got a Club, a little disappointed by the lack of bacon but still a great sandwich. A friend got an Italian and it just looked fantastic and he said the taste matched. Flavors were great. Even the pickle you get on the side is more... pickle-y . Delicious. The prices are a little high in my opinion. You can get a base medium sandwich (8 inches) ranging from like $6.5 to $9. Adding chips and a drink is going to add roughly $2-3. Upgrading your sandwich to a footlong will also run you $3. However, in the end, I suppose it's up to each person to determine if the obvious uptick in flavor and quality is worth the extra cash. I'll definitely be back as there's a ton of sandwiches I want to try, but perhaps not as often as I would otherwise like. read more

I've been to two of these now on opposite sides of town and neither time impressed me. The latest time I ordered their new promotion which was meat with fried onion rings on top. The sandwich felt like it was meat flavored bread. There was somehow no substance to the meat. I wasn't the only one in our group to order that sandwich and I wasn't alone in my disappointment. If I go back it will be because I'm with a group that chooses this place (as with the most recent visit) and I'll have to see if there is something on their menu with more substance too it. I'm here from LA due to a death in family. Driving in from the airport, I noticed that your establishment was still open. Tired and weary, I asked a million questions about the menu(food allergies). Your cashier was so patient with me and answered all questions and made suggestions. I decided on the loaded potato soup and a half sub, both were really good. First time trying any Firehouse Subs. Ordered just a cheddar brisket sandwich to go. Order was ready by the title i arrived to pick it up. I may be biased as I view brisket as one of the tastiest meats, but man this sandwich hit the spot. so flavorful. the wheat bread here is better than subway's. didn't overdo it with BBQ sauce or mayo which i appreciate. a little skimpy on the cheese but was nonetheless satisfied. will return again. i would choose this over subway most of the time. read more

The Italian was very flavorful and I added cucumbers and banana peppers with pepperoncinis on the side. The subs come in three sizes and on white or wheat bread. I like sampling new sauces at the hot sauce bar to find new favorites. They number the sauces from 1 (mild) to 10 (hottest) so you know what you're getting. read more

Unfortunately, I placed my order as they were making a large to go order, it took about 12 minutes to get my sub. The owner apologized for the way it looked, it was falling apart, and most of the stuff that was supposed to be inside, was hanging out. If it looked bad enough to apologize, why not make a new one. I've always been a fan of firehouse but this new location was less than impressive. I called in my order and when I got there they had my order wrong and it was sloppily thrown in the bag. The cashier never made eye contact with me as she was too busy trying to find someone else to complete the transaction because she didn't know how to do it. I had to ask for my cup multiple times and nobody ever apologized to me or made much of an effort to exhibit any form of customer service. Only giving it a 3 because the food was pretty good. I understand it's a new location but a little extra training wouldn't hurt. read more
