We had no idea that Dua Pie was a thing or that we'd be eating there last night…read more A Joe Bonamassa concert had us in town and we had an hour before the doors would open so we looked on Google Maps to see what our food options were nearby. Fortunately for us Dua Pie was the closest and I'm glad it was! The decor is very open and there's a loooong table in the center of the room for seating as well as a few booths on one side of the room. Evalyn was very helpful with these first timers and explained the options for us. We ended up going with the Calzones and they were fantastic! Stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella cheeses, sauce, and sausage. The dough is crisp yet still maintains a good chew too! Delicious, upbeat, and just a wonderful place...we'll definitely be back!

We arrived right when they opened and we were warmly welcomed by the friendliest, most positive person I've met in awhile. His patience alone was like a 20-second hug. He went over what slices were available and we ended up with the toasted cheese ravioli and 4 slices; one pep, one buffalo chicken and two BBQ chicken. The ravioli came out quick and they were nice and crispy on the outside with cheese on the inside we all raved about. The pizza was delicious and the crust was perfect. I personally really liked the decor and coziness of the inside. I'm already planning future visits to try the stuffed options, salads, and sandwiches. But back to the service. On our way out to leave, the first person we talked to stopped us and offered us a slice of cake because he knew it was my son's birthday. The Midas touch of service for us as first timers. Well done all the way around!

In almost 15 minutes, the bartender didn't look up and around or acknowledge me, despite walking right in front of me multiple times. I finally got his attention and placed an order for a sandwich and drink. 45 minutes later, when I got his attention again he told me there was only one person in the kitchen so they were really behind. Indeed, in the hour I was there I saw only a small number of plates of come out of the kitchen. I had him cancel my sandwich and left, since there was no indication if or when my order would be ready. One way to ruin goodwill with customers is no service or long delays without any communication. All it takes is letting customers know if the kitchen is going that poorly to set expectations and let customers make informed decisions. Unfortunately, that's ultimately what created my poor experience at the Cedar Rapids Quinton's.

On a great day, the patio is great for an outside view, maybe even a concert if you are lucky.

And aptly named Loosies seemed to fit the bill! This is a very small spot off the road... it when I walked in the staff was smiling and very welcoming...true midwestern warmth! There were two friendly ladies on and the lunch crowd was coming in and out. I had a fountain root beer. Potato salad - loved it. Properly named as it had more potatoes than onions. Mayo and vinegar based which I had never had. I LOVED it. If you don't like vinegar, you may not like it but I recommend at least trying it. It's GOOD. Mac n cheese - it was slightly spicy and had a touch of herb flavor. I didn't see cayenne in it or taste jalapeños so it must've been something else. It had the right amount of cheesy gooeyness that all Mac n cheese should have. It was good. Mega Loosie - a tasty loose meat sandwich. I had ketchup, mustard and onion on it but there were other toppings. I'm sure it would be good with some sriracha or jalapeños on it as well. It felt like a family cookout with the food choices. The cooks were friendly and service was fast. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and will 100% return. Highly recommend.
