Here were my thoughts: Food/Drink: Breakfast Sammy (Small portion but big taste. Not the best breakfast I've ever had yet well above the worst! The aioli knocked my rating up a a point or two for sure. Rating = 7.7/10). Iced vanilla latte (Rock solid latte. It was exactly what I needed to start my week. Nothing flashy but man did that cup get the job done today. Rating = 7.8/10). Service: Nothing to complain about. Drink and food came out quick and accurately. Ambiance: The shop was pretty quiet on this particular morning. I could definitely picture it as a great place to read a book, lock in to some work, or hang out with friends. Overall, this is a great place to get your caffeine fix in the Iowa River Landing area. Also note - this local chain of coffee shops was formerly named "Coffee Emporium" but recently rebranded to "Midnight Coffee" earlier this year.

There was a line but it went quickly. Know that there is only one size here, what I would consider an extremely small coffee but my latte was good. (The higher end and more artisanal the place, the smaller the cup!) I also got a chorizo-fajita scone to go. It would have been better if it had been heated. That scone really needed more spice. I loved the inside art, merchandise and they had a cool reusable cups for purchase (coozies with a glass jar) that I think allowed for lots of free coffee. Cool spot and again, I would have liked to have stayed awhile. Pretty busy spot and lots of food was coming out of the kitchen, too.

Great coffee, friendly service as always! I also got a piece of their coffee cake and a breakfast burrito and they were both so good. Easily a top 5 breakfast burrito for me in recent memory and it's not 5. The crispy hash brown and the ratio of bacon (added it on) and eggs carry this and the aioli is amazing. Looking forward to trying this again next time I'm in town!

The seating area is behind where you order coffee--looks like it's a bar in the evenings. They also have a great breakfast selection. I was hoping to try one of the breakfast sandwiches, but had to opt for a pastry because service was so slow. I ordered my go-to basic drip coffee with cream. It was perfect! Definitely the morning pick me up I needed. Since I wasn't able to get a hardier breakfast, I opted for a donut. The cake donut was definitely yummy! While there were three people working behind the counter, I had to wait about 10 minutes to even order. One staff member was making drinks, another making food, and the third was making signs. I'm sure the signs were important, but so are customers who are standing in front of you. Bottom line, I will give Uptown another shot when I'm back in the area because the coffee was that good and the sandwiches being made looked and smelled delicious.
