This was my first time ever trying a firehouse subs. While the service was good, the food was not the best. I ordered 2 subs to-go for my boyfriend and I and by the time I got home (a 5 minute drive) the sandwiches were soggy and wet. I took a few bites and threw mine away because of how wet the bread was. I thought they were going to warm and toasty but they were actually the opposite. The meat on my sandwich was also extremely salty and the two sandwiches alone were extremely pricey. This was a toss up between a 2-star rating and 3-star rating. 2-star rating because I was very under-whelmed by the bland taste of the sandwich; the order-taker's lack of product knowledge and unprofessionalism; and the staffs' lackadaisical attitude. The staff seemed more like customers--casually filling up their sodas and hanging out watching sports on TV, instead of addressing the dining room which needed cleaning (dirty tables, food wrappers on floor, chairs not pushed in, food trays left on tables). 3-star rating because the sandwiches had more meat on them than Subway or Jimmy Johns; the price for Firehouse 8-inch medium sub was comparable to Subway and Jimmy Johns; and my husband liked that they offer a corned beef and pastrami sandwich. Frankly, I don't see much difference between Firehouse, Quiznos and Potbelly. ... and for the record, as of Sunday March 6, 2016 when I asked if they had free Wi-Fi, the cashier James R. responded, "we do have Wi-Fi but are NOT allowed to give out the password to customers." I've always had decent service when I've gone in. I'm hoping the negative reviews I have read are isolated incidents. The employees there have always been friendly. Decided to try this place at the insistence of my mother-in-law. The service was slow and two sandwiches cost $12. I think that is a little pricey for two small sub sandwiches. The food was good. Customer service is great. The person at the counter recommended favorites and new specials they had. Also handed us info on the loyalty program they had. He seemed like he was proud of his job and that honestly makes a difference in customer service. For me the attitude of employees can make or break an experience. They also sell mainly hot subs. It's not my thing but luckily they have a make your own sub option and I was able to customize mine and say if I wanted it toasted or not. The only reason I can't give five stars is because I asked for it not to be toasted and it was. Not the end but I was a little bummed when I got home to a toasted sub. read more

I went to the restaurant yesterday because we loved the sandwiches. We they rid of my favorite the turkey salsa verde I was not happy about that. So I order a turkey bacon ranch which was good however you used to have awesome pickles, not anymore they were very different soggy not crisp like before. The pickles I had in my fridge are better. This Firehouse Subs recently opened near my house, I've heard good things about this place for a while, but had yet to try them. It's a typical sandwich shop, you walk in, order, move to the left and wait for your sandwich to be made. With the exception of the Tuna salad, all of the subs here are hot, they don't do cold subs. I ordered their signature sandwich (Hook and Ladder) on white bread. It took longer to arrive than I thought it would, but no big deal it was hot and fresh when it arrived. You can tell they use good quality meats on their sandwiches and it was heated evenly all the way through. It reminded me of Jersey Mike's, but less expensive and maybe a little better. The inside dining area is much larger than it looks from the street and was bright and clean. They have one of those Coke machines with the LCD screen that allows you about 1000 different varieties of drinks. I both love and hate those machines, they are great for the variety, but they stink because they attract children like moths to a flame. In conclusion, great sandwiches, friendly staff and good prices. I will be back. read more

I absolutely LOVE their sandwiches!! They lightly toast the bread and steam the meat and it's delicious! The sandwich is warm and not burnt, nor is it chewy like Subway sandwiches can get after they "toast" them. My girlfriend and I have never been to firehouse, but were recommended from a friend. We were greeted immediately upon entering by the friendly staff, and the woman behind the register prompted us on popular sandwich choices. Food was delivered to our table within minutes, and was well worth the stop. Incredible flavors, and great atmosphere. It shocks me that any other sub sandwich restaurant can stay in business with this place nearby. We will certainly be returning to this establishment. read more
