I ordered the Hero Sub large combo with Fries. It took maybe 5 minutes to get our food. The food was good. Wish we got more Fries for the price of the up-charge. Walked in and a staff member did greet me at the door. However a different person took my order she was nice and pleasant. My favorite sub is the Hook and Ladder. As a generalization, I love Firehouse Subs, but this particular location is nothing but trouble. It started with a Chop Salad order a long while back. I ordered it without tomatoes because raw tomatoes make my stomach churn. The salad had a plethora of tiny chopped tomatoes, too hard to remove and still salvage the salad. Well, they promised to replace it when I complained but that never happened. I was very happy and excited when I heard you can get gluten-free buns. I've ordered many times from FHS in Lake Mary and had no problem. Apparently gf means basic AF from Hunt Club because for almost $14 I got a 5 inch sub with very little filling and no pickle (even though I paid for it). The cashier was quite snarky over my gluten-free request. She seriously asked me if this was an allergy or diet preference. None of your business really. This location is my go to lunch spot. My favorite sandwich is the hook and ladder fully loaded! You definitely get your moneys worth in the staff are always very welcoming. Out of all the fire house subs this one gives the most family vives. They always have some thing for regular people to write on to think the firefighters for all the hard work they do. I always sign my name and say thank you because I know how tough it can be put in your life on the line every day you go to work. We stopped at Firehouse for the first time in Dec at 8:55, 5 minutes till closing. We were the only people there. The crew could not of been nicer, the sandwich was amazing! Since Dec we have become regulars going at least 1x a week. We are fans of the Italian and the garlic bread is amazing, I also love the salads! The portions are very generous. We always get the large with plenty leftover for lunch the next day. Each and every visit the crew have been professional, courteous, and EXCELLENT sandwich/salad makers. I really like firehouse. This is a great location. As other reviewers state, I prefer firehouse to other like chains, hands down. Their subs just taste better. I always get the Engineer. It is just plain tasty. The real reason for this review (because I am lazy and their service is always pretty good and the sandwiches are always tasty) is the new soda machine. 120 flavors. Sodas I didn't even know they make!! This little addition to Firehouse has brought me back at least 5 times in the month of December. Diet vanilla rootbeer?! YES PLEASE!!! This pleases my husband to no end since he is a sandwich fiend and would eat sandwiches for breakfast lunch and dinner if I let him. Since this little machine has brought me back he is beside himself. Keep up the good work Firehouse.. and also.. I LOVE the hot sauce bar. A lot of people get turned off by the "Welcome to Firehouse" shouted when you walk through the door. I have always had good experiences with this location. In fact, when compared to the other sub chains (Subway, Quiznos) I hands down prefer Firehouse. The pile on the meat and the subs come "fully-loaded" which includes Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion and a Dill Spear on the side. My favorite subs are the Hook and Ladder or the Engineer. Both are delicious. The shop is always clean and the staff is very friendly. The also offer a decent hot sauce selection (for a sub shop) if you are so inclined. read more

I don't eat subs often because no one ever uses wheat free breads, but the meatball sub is a favorite of mine. I have tried other subs but I'm not really fond of their meats. The one item I will miss next year was that you got a free sub on your birthday. It's sad that I only found out about that this year. There was some rotten people who have ruined it for others because they would go around to the 4-5 shops in the area and get free subs. So I guess Firehouse got tired of losing money on that deal. Sadly, my family and I have enjoyed Firehouse at this location over the years. We came here after church on Sunday and the usual manager/owner (?) wasn't there. We placed our normal order, then waited... and waited... and waited. Finally after almost 30 minutes it came out. My wife and daughter got their subs, my son's was wrong and they forgot mine. More waiting... Even the normal sliced lemons and limes were gone for the iced tea. Not sure what is going on but if I pay $40+ for 4 subs, I expect an experience much better than this. Really unfortunate experience. Walked in and ordered two sandwiches and a side salad. Asked for additional toppings and of course the infamous pickle. One woman at the soda machine loudly complained that the soda machine was filthy and not one of the five workers said anything. Silence. Not an "I'm sorry" or a "thank you for letting us know". Oh, and didn't get a receipt. The worker said "your receipt didn't print, hope you didn't want one". I was a little irritated, but said it was no problem. And the black cashier was not wearing his mask properly (nose clearly exposed). Anyway, Waited over 15 minutes for our order. Received our order and double checked it before we left only to realize our side salad was missing. So we ask the worker and he hands us a salad. We ask about the dressing and he tell us it's inside. No, it wasn't. So he gives it to us with doubt. We decided not to eat there and took it home. Upon opening our boxes, both of our sandwiches did not have the additional toppings we request AND no side pickles. Out of all those other sub chains in the city, Firehouse definitely has to be my favorite. They have tasty, tangy, subs in a fun atmosphere at a decent price. They are generous with the piling on the meats and toppings, and when you get it fully loaded, it comes with all your favorite toppings ready to eat. Plus, subs always come with a pickle, which I looove. Firehouse also has a selection of hot sauces and barbecue sauces that are also definitely worth trying. The store itself has a cool fire engine house atmosphere, and is always clean and neat. You have your choice between regular and large subs (which is like the equivalent to 6-inch or footlong), and I usually get the regular and am plenty full. Been coming to this Firehouse since it opened. Hands down, the best subs out of all the chains, including the newly opened Jimmy Johns & Jersey Mike's nearby. However, recently, I've noticed the store itself is not as clean as it used to be and the bathrooms are hit or miss. This is horrible! Do not order from here. I used grub hub and paid with PayPal, then the restaurant calls me and asked to take my order which had already been placed. Then he tells me he is the Manager , when I find out that he isn't the Manager. The young man tells me over the phone to "yo hold up" ,and that he doesn't know how all this works. They were not nice about it either and were nasty to both me and the Uber eats driver. Thank goodness I used PayPal. Firehouse is normally good and has awesome employees but not this one.
