Im back for my second try at this place before i rate it though. Got the Lassen with extra jalapenos. Its decent, but it actually could use more heat. I put horseradish on mine and it was about right. Its far better than any of the sandwich chains I've tried. Bread is good and fresh. All the other ingredients seem to be high quality as well. Price is also quite reasonable. Sandwich and chips for $11-12 is a decent deal. I also like their National Park motif with memorabilia from parks all over the west on the walls.

LaBruzza's is a hole-in-the-wall family run restaurant that is located in a very unexpected place. I mean if you don't know, you won't know!!! It's off a busy street, but next to a body shop in a not so kept-up parking lot. The outside is nothing to write home about, but the inside is rather quaint and what you would expect from an Italian restaurant (red and white checkered tablecloths, dark lighting, and random autographed photos of previous customers). We were told there is usually a wait, but we happened to go on a good day, because we arrived at 5PM and were seated almost immediately. We were a party of three and were seated at a somewhat tight-fitting booth, but with a little moving of the table, it worked! A house salad with creamy Italian dressing and a small loaf of bread were brought to the table soon after we sat and in addition to the menus, a large whiteboard with daily specials was brought out and placed before us. There were many dishes to choose from, but I think we all made our selections rather quickly. My husband ordered off the specials menu and got the 1/2 Parmesan Chicken and 1/2 ShrimpAlfredo. He really enjoyed both! Our friend who actually reminded us of this place, ordered the Cajun Shrimp. His dish was very well served and looked delicious. He said it was the best meal he has ever eaten at LaBruzza's! As for myself, I had to try the lasagna, which comes served with a meatball on the side, but I always have to try the Italian sausage and so I ordered a side and it actually came with two! I basically ordered way too much food, but it was worth it! My lasagna was so good. The sauce was perfect and the Italian sausages were spicy just how I like them. Unfortunately, I think I was full from the salad and bread alone, but I did get to take home my leftovers for the next day. YUM! The service was quite pleasant. Our server was very attentive and other staff kept our table cleared from dirty dishes and kept water glasses full. It is a very casual place and I imagine it can probably get a bit noisy. We just happened to be there on a non-busy evening (World Cup was on) and noise level was average for the amount of patrons. Prices are pretty average with seafood items being a bit more costly, which is not uncommon. I think the best part is that you can bring your own bottle of wine and they provide the glasses and corkscrew! This is so far the best Italian food that we have had since moving to the area. We will definitely be back!

Then we started reading the menu and became increasingly confused. It says bread and salad are included with entrees, but another section says unlimited bread and salad is $12.99. The menu also lists two different charges for splitting an entree--$9.95 at the top and $11 at the bottom. My husband ordered an entree, so we assumed the bread and salad that had already been brought to the table were included. However, we were still charged $12.99 for them even though we never ordered the unlimited bread and salad. The food may have been fine, but the menu and pricing were unnecessarily confusing, and being charged for something that was brought to the table without us ordering it left a bad impression. The restaurant really needs to make its menu and charges much clearer.

And if you add any toppings extra on your salad, you're charged $1.50 for each topping that's extra. Then we decided we would take the $8.49 piece of lemon cello cake dessert, to take home. I'm truly disappointed. The least they could do is give you a decent size piece of cake or dessert for $8.49. All in all without drinks, it was near 90 bucks, which is really heart wrenching because I really like the place. Salad shouldn't be more than $6.49 and the cake should only be six dollars because of its size. I will attach a picture of the cake. Service was great and the atmosphere is nice.
