This is not a restaurant but a store that sells olives, different kinds of olive oils and balsamic vinegars that are aged 18 years. I bought the Tuscan herb olive oil and traditional balsamic vinegar. The taste is divine. Also, the lady was so helpful with introducing us to the pairing of olive oils and the balsamic vinegar. The selection is vast. They have oils and balsamic syrups with no preservatives and no additives. They encourage you to try as many as you like and pair them as you wish. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. They offer up suggestions for their favorites. All of the flavors are an enhanced version of what you imagine by the name. Ie, orange, is an intense orange. It was so hard to narrow down, but we went with 2 vinaigrettes and one oil. The espresso (with a hint of dark chocolate) and the aged cinnamon pear for balsamic and the orange oil. read more

I like the wine tasting room feel, but in this case you get a square inch bread and dip in the different types, flavor and origin (Spain, Italy, etc.) of olive oils. Really cool concept. Why the 3 stars? They were quite snooty in there...and I abhor snoots. Bought just a couple of bottles (Porcini and Herbs). We have Queen Creek Olive Mill in PHX, where the olives are grown in their orchard, so it's not like this place is the ONLY place to get specialized EVOO. Plus, QC Olive Mill is heck of a lot friendlier. read more

Stumbled across this unique and totally unexpected olive oil shop inside Bashford Court on Gurley across from the downtown Courthouse. The spacious shop on the second floor carries a variety of extra virgin olive oils from Italy (#1) ), Tunisia (#2), Spain (#3) followed by France and California with one each plus a wide assortment of Balsamic Vinegars from Italy. Tried several OO and BV and ended up purchasing Meyer Lemon OO from Tunisia, Tuscan Herb OO from Italy and 18 Year Traditional BV from Italy. All were very flavorful and am looking forward to fresh green salads and trying some of the suggested pairings for chicken, pork-loin, and shrimp. There is a high OO turnover and the store employee indicated the products typically are only four months old although I didn't see any markings to indicate a date on the attractive dark bottles. read more

The staff here is incredible! They are not only knowledgeable about their balsamic vinegar and olive oils, but you can tell they are really passionate about their business. We got to sample all that we wanted, and even were given some to try based on vague information we provided about our likes. Between the staff and their very well organized brochure/menu it was easy to develop flavor profiles that we loved. We ended up getting two bottles of olive oil and two of balsamic vinegar, and can't wait to try them out. With their almost too low prices, we could have gotten more! I go right to the owner and tell him I want an unflavored olive oil with the most peppery and grassy notes (for the antioxidant benefits). The oil he gives me varies each year just like a fine wine. Went to Prescott for the weekend last year and found this olive oil shop in a lovely old building filled with good things (go to the spice shop below it, and the meadery below that, too!). After tasting many of their varieties, opted for some different olive oils (all good, with many different uses). And... the black cherry balsamic vinegar. Oh my heavens, is that stuff delicious! Did reduction and poured over ice cream. Used on chicken. And many different salad vinaigrettes. I've run out of the black cherry balsamic (sad face), and don't have time for a trip to Prescott in the near future. So I compared prices at "Olive U" with the local (Vegas & St. George) distributor for these same olive oils & balsamic vinegars. Guess what?! Even with SHIPPING, Olive U was still cheaper! I also ordered Roasted Walnut oil this time. Sounds intriguing! My mom had some walnut oil around a long time ago, but I believe it was raw-pressed. I have high hopes that this will have a rich, roasty flavor; and that I can combine it with the Black Cherry balsamic for a great dressing for fruit salads! read more

This cute shop is worth a quick stop while in Prescott. I tried several different oils and vinegar and ended up settling on the Cosmic Pear. I found the vinegar to be quite balanced with a wide variety of flavors. I love picking up long term edible items to take back to Texas with me so I can have small reminders of my visit! Have visited this place as we frequently visit Prescott and love the square. I find the older gent (manager/owner?) friendly and helpful. This last visit I asked him about a case of tiny bottles of Tuscan Herb OO. He said they are used as wedding favors and kindly handed me one. Like most people, I stumbled upon this little shop too when I was window shopping within this quaint mall. As an FYI for those who are familiar with this shop, they have recently changed locations from the 2nd floor to the 3rd. These olive oils are perfect for dipping and with all of the flavors available, there's something for everyone. The prices may seem a bit steep. However, the balsamic vinegars lasts us for a really long time. On the other hand, the olive oils go fast. I am a huge fan of the premium aged olive oils that you will find in the center of the display room. Some are grassy, others are more moderate, but there seems to be more depth from these than the flavored. Don't get me wrong, the flavored olive oils are wonderful, but if you really want to taste the difference between grocery store brands and this particular venue, then you need to try them. And alone! When you walk in there, you can easily be overwhelmed with all of the different flavor options welded together; raspberry balsamic with meyer lemon olive oil, for instance. You will need to tell them you want to try them by themselves if that is what you wish. My last visit to this shop was a bit disappointing. My husband and I walked into the shop and already there were was a party of five who were already in the throes of tasting. The gal manning the shop didn't even acknowledge us when we walked in. Fortunately, we already had an idea of what we were going to get. She was forced to part herself from the other people when we patiently waited at the register. At this point, this was our first interaction with her. Funny enough, putting all her eggs in one basket didn't pan out. Nobody bought anything from that party. read more

I was so pleased to stumble into this shop while wandering around Bashford Courts! (I'm thinking they might want to do a little advertising! I seems like most people don't know about this place until they wander through the Courts) I couldn't disagree more with the reviewer who said that the staff of this shop was snooty. I found them to be incredibly helpful, friendly, and generous with the samples. I never knew that Balsamic had so many faces! Incredible variety and so flavorful! My favorite was the toasted sesame oil. I use sesame oil often in my cooking. This stuff is amazing and cannot even be compared to store bought oil. It was the most flavorful sesame oil that I've ever tried! Winner! Combine this shop with Spice Traveler on the second floor and all that's left is the need for a really great artisan bakery! Vicki was absolutely fantastic! My wife and mother in law came here a few months ago and have not stopped talking about it so I was looking forward to seeing what the fuss was all about. The tasting table and service were incredible. At one point Vicki had over 15 bottles of olive oil and balsamic vinegar in different flavors sitting on the table. She was mixing them in little cups, describing how we might use them (salads, marinades, etc) and adding spices to enhance flavor. Whenever we're in Prescott, we stop at Praline's, and pick up at least a pound of Toffee; without a doubt, the finestin Arizona! But our best surprise this weekend was.the specialty store next door... Olive U Naturally! Although the variety of flavored olive oils and balsamic vinegars is amazing, the real surprise was the realization of the difference in quality between theirs and "store-baught" varieties! I will be a patron as long as this place lasts. Despite the amazing varieties available, and the education we recieved, I do have to agree with the earlier post, about the somewhat "chilly" attention; a simple "hi, how are you?" when we came into the shop would have gone a long way. I must start by saying that the olive oils and balsamic vinegar were DELICIOUS! My favorite was the Tuscan herb olive oil, and it was a steal at $15. My gripes about Olive U Naturally are not based on the product but on the customer service. The second my cousins and I walked in, we were greeted by the older gentleman working here, which was a plus. However, he quickly became pushy, demanding, and wouldn't let us try the olive oils that WE were interested in. Instead of asking what kinds of flavors we were looking for or listening to us when we offered up that information to him, he kept pouring flavors that we didn't like or want to try at all. Furthermore, he insisted we sip everything instead of tasting it with the bread that they had on the table. What is it there for if not to taste the oils? We ended up getting the Tuscan olive oil, because it REALLY IS too good to pass up, but I would still rather drive the extra miles to Sedona for the much friendlier and personable atmosphere of the Sedona Olive Oil Company.
