We stopped here on a day where it was threatening rain and we wanted to take a little break from the heat and humidity. We climbed several of the Jerome stairs to get to the upper town level where the shop is located. They have a wide variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars with many unique flavors. We told Bob which ones we'd like to try and he gave us mini tastings of those. Then he put together some combinations for us to try. Everything was so good, it was hard to choose what we wanted to purchase. We ended up with Tuscan Herb Olive Oil and Neapolitan Herb Vinegar. The combination of those two will be so delicious as a marinade for meat, a salad dressing, or sprinkled over pasta or vegetables. read more

The olive oil and vinegar here is unique and delicious. I tried a few varieties of both vinegar and oil and they were all very distinct with lovely flavors. The gentleman helping us when we visited was so friendly and nice. He recommended pairing the basil olive oil with raspberry balsamic vinegar. I wouldn't think to pair the two but I'm glad he suggested it because it was such a delightful combo! This place is phenomenal. The guy who runs the place is incredibly friendly and WAY excited about his products. The man obviously knows his stuff and started mixing oils and balsamics together in different combinations for my wife and I and holy goodness...I kid you not, I could take shots of oil all day. The combinations he made...Like a lime oil mixed with cranberry pear balsamic, were heaven. The best salad dressing I've ever tasted and it was just 2 parts oil 1 part balsamic. Amazing. Tried a blood orange oil mixed with espresso balsamic and that was great too. The espresso would make for a great bbq glaze. The guy also knows his history on the town and is super enthusiastic to talk to you about it or his oils. I ended up walking out with 4 bottles. Fantastic shop. The owner was really friendly. He spent a lot of time with us teaching us how to combine the different oils and vinegars in ways that were truly amazing. My husband loves olive oil so we stopped in to check this place out. Mike, who runs it, really enjoys what he does and made some great blends of olive oil and vinegars. It was a very interesting place and I plan to go back. The only complaint I had was at the end of our time when Mike kind of talked down about where we had chosen to eat (HH) and emphatically stated where the best food in town is and strongly suggested we go there. My husband and I head to Jerome, AZ about once every three or four months from Phoenix, and we love stopping by here to get stocked up on our olive oils and balsamics. A must for the epicurious and food enthusiasts to add that little extra something special to your own culinary creations at home. Our new favorite pairing is the cilantro and roasted onion olive oil mixed with the dark chocolate balsamic vinegar. My husband smoked a ham for Christmas for about 5 hours and then glazed it in this mixture above. AMAZING and to die for. There are over 30 different flavors of olive oul and vinegars. As you enter through the door your you are stepping into the tasting room (well, the only room) which is lined with multiple different flavors of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. We were greeted by Kathy, the friendly, lone employee who graciously welcomed us and scooted us closer to the stainless steel dispensers that house the olive oils and the vinegars. She let us know that the only way to purchase the oils and vinegars is to taste them so off we went with complimentary tastings. She asked us if we had a preference to olive oils or balsamic vinegars, at which point I blurted out "balsamic's" in order to taste test first over my friend (sorry Jen, I got excited!). Kathy started me off with their most popular 18 year old balsamic which was super good and a lot better then the now apparent crap I currently had at home (yes, I bought a bottle). She then went across the room to the olive oil section and mixed it with their Tucsan Herb olive oil for me to sample without even asking! She did this for both me and my friend so we were able to try a bunch of different oils, vinegars, and any combo of the two. Tons of Olive Oil flavors to choose from such as: Blood Orange, Lemon, Natural Butter, Garlic, Fresh Basil, and a few more. The balsamic vinegars included: Black Cherry, Black Ginger, Blackberry-ginger, cinnamon pear, and dark chocolate! My friend and I each ended up buying two bottles of our favorites. One of the best parts is that while you are sipping on heaven, Kathy gives you tips and tricks on how to cook with these or what they would be good on, such as the Cinnamon Pear that I bought, she suggested putting a little on apple slices and she was right, delicious! The prices are a little more pricey then what you would find in the store, but the point is, you won't find these in the store. Confession: I guess I'm what most people would consider a "foodie" and yet I cannot wrap my tastebuds around basalmic vinegar (except on a salad). While perusing the streets of Jerome, I sidestepped into Jerome Olive Oil Traders and was pleasantly surprised. The tasting room (which doubles as the sales room, entryway, etc.), housed at least a two dozen gourmet infused basalmic vinegars and olive oils. The woman on staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, but unfortunately was occupied helping another couple who had just completed a "tasting." A big hit for me was the Sicilian Lemon Basalmic Vinegar, a bright summery and crisp vinegar, that would be perfect for spring and summer meals of the Mediterranean type. As far as olive oil goes, the Garlic Olive Oil woudl appear to be a boring choice, but I could see it being used frequently in my kitchen. All in all, there's a ton of variety for all tastes and uses. The presentation is truly beautiful, with all of the oils and vinegars being stored in large silver vats with taps for your tasting pleasure. However, only small sample cups are provided and I desperately wished that they had provided small crackers or wedges of bread for dipping. It felt a little odd to be throwing back half a teaspoon of vinegar or olive oil alone. The $16 bottle price (for most olive oils and basalmics) didn't seem unreasonable, but I simply couldn't justify spending almost $20 for an ingredient that I will use on rare occasion. Perhaps if a smaller sample bottle could be purchased or sold in a set, I may have been more apt to buy. read more

Best olive oil! This store is awesome and the flavors are very fresh and delicious. My favorite is the Tuscan Herb. I use it all the time with eggs and when I roast my veggies. The owner is very friendly and he really goes out of his way to teach you about the different flavors and how to combine the flavors with the vinegars to have a bread dip. The owner also told us about a restaurant that wasn't far from his shop called Bordello and the food was so good we tipped the cook. Definitely will go back to both places! This is a bit overdue as I was here in March but I was so glad to pass by this place close to closing. They have an amazing assortment of products and I have so happy with my delicious apricot balsamic vinegar. If I lived closer, I would be here all of the time. We were camping down the road so took a day trip to Jerome. Been there before and like the eclectic and sometimes out there vibe of the place. Was not expecting to find anything really but stumbled onto this shop. It is tucked away on the top tier of the town like the Haunted Hamburger. I think it was a bar or restaurant. But now it is a small shop that sells some very good quality oils and vinegar for a decent price. My wife has many food allergies so she makes her own food. Having good ingredients helps a ton. She picked a vinegar. The man helped her pair it with an olive oil. We actually used the blood orange oil he picked that night on the chicken we bbq. Great little place and worth the hike! read more

Every year I travel to Sedona with friends or a friend. There is always a trip set up to Jerome, to the Haunted Hamburger, and now there will be a regular visit to the Jerome Olive Oil Traders-conveniently located across the street from HH! I entered with a full stomach (Haunted Hamburger does that) and thought a peek would be all I could handle - well my friend and I had 9 bottles shipped back to NY! The variety and excellent quality/taste was enough, but the hospitality of our hostess topped the charts! I am actually considering opening an Olive Oil Trader shop here in the east... For now though, a little left over lunch made up of the Coconut Balsamic Vinegar on a mixture of slightly roasted red bell peppers, black beans and sweet potatoes make a delicious continuance of last night's dinner.
