Service was fantastic. We had a couple wine tasting flights and left with 6 bottles to take home. Highly recommend stopping by, and bring your dog. They take pictures of all the four legged visitors for collages on the wall.

Quite a wine find in Arizona. Small 2,500 case winery that does nothing but Italian wines and does them well A nice place to spend an afternoon.

The family and I stopped by Salt Mine Wine yesterday on what was the second and last winery we visited. We arrived shortly after noon and were greeted by Chip who is one of the owners and Essy the winery dog. The tasting room at Salt Mine Wine is everything a tasting room should be. Unpretentious, cozy, welcoming, and not full of wine themed merchandise. The tasting fee is very reasonable $12 for five 1 o.z pours and you can choose from any of the eleven wines on the list which consisted of white, Rosé, and red wines. We made our first choice and sat ourselves on the patio with Essy making sure that she got attention from all of us. Chip arrived with our first pour. I chose the 2021 Malvasia Blanca and the Mrs. chose the 2022 Homestead Rosé. We loved both our choices. We then moved on to the reds and started with the 2021 Grenache. Since Grenache is one of my favorite varietals I'm usually pretty picky, but Salt Mine Wines produces a great Grenache. It was lighter bodied than what I'm used to but still had all the characteristics of a Grenache. We then moved on to Salt Mine's proprietary blend the 2020 Junkyard. Chip explains the story behind the name and what goes into producing the Junkyard blend and that some years they don't bother producing it because the grapes aren't up to par. We moved on to the 2019 Primitivo. The Italian cousin of the Zinfandel grape. It was really good. Kind of earthy in its aroma. Chip had to run an errand and Leann took over. Our next wine was the 2021 Aglianico. A full bodied Italian wine and a great one at that. Before Chip left he was insistent we try the 2021 Tempranillo. Why say no, right? Leann poured the Tempranillo for us and it was great. Throughout our tasting experience Chip and Leann were very generous with their time. Even when more people showed up. We talked about all things wine related and not wine related. Chip explained where their wines came from, what was estate grown and what wasn't, and how climate change has had an effect on their winery. He also gave us some recommendations on other wineries to visit in the area. Honestly, Chip and Leann made us feel like family. Not only did we leave with five bottles of great wine, we also left with great memories and the best tasting experience we have ever had. Also, make sure you pet Essy. She's part of the Salt Mine Wine experience.

We had a wonderful experience at Salt Mine Wine. We sat on the patio overlooking the vineyards. The pricing for flights and bottles of wine is very reasonable. There was not one wine we did not enjoy. I'd say our favorite was the Malvasia Bianca which we ended up buying 2 bottles of. I wish I could remember the name of the man who took care of us. He was super friendly and the service was outstanding. I'm so looking forward to going back!

Quick rundown: Leann and Yoshi are fabulous tasting hosts. Essie the dog is perfect. The wine is delicious. Slow and steady: We stopped here on suggestion of the lady at Clear Creek Winery after our tasting there. They were on the way back towards the highway anyway, so why not? And boy am I glad that we made the stop! We grabbed a table outside and got ready for a tasting, co-lead by Leann and Yoshi, two lovely ladies who you can tell like the wine and like their job. The tasting costs $10 for, I believe, 5 pours. I really enjoyed the rose I tried, and the Montepulciano. As did most of my family who was there doing a tasting too. So we also left having bought a bottle of each of them to enjoy over the week at our final destination. We had wonderful conversation with the other patrons seated nearby also doing tastings, as well as with the employees. The view of the creek is lovely and calming and welcoming. Essie, the winery dog, is the most welcoming of them all! We had an incredibly wonderful time and the wine tastes good to boot. Very affordable as well. AND! If you buy two bottles of wine or more, a tasting is free! That was a fun and welcome surprise when I went to pay for our tastings and bottles! I would highly recommend a visit here!

This is a cozy winery with excellent service. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sit on the patio as it was such a lovely day. It's a smallish patio with about six tables. Plenty of shade provided by trees. It was quite relaxing, and the lady who was working provided excellent service. We never had to get up from our seats and go to the bar for more wine; she always came to us and seemed to anticipate our every need. I had a wine flight, and she threw in some extra pours for free. :-) All of the wines I tried were great! They don't serve any food here, so just be aware of that if you're going to visit. We will return!

Wow! What a delightful surprise! We visited Salt Mine Winery on a sunny, slightly cool Sunday afternoon. We were warmly greeted by the staff, some other visitors and two very sweet dogs. There were tables inside and out, and we chose out. The table was immediately sanitized and water was brought to the table. There are vineyards as you drive in as well as just by the tasting area. There is also a small body of water like a creek or something. We opted to taste all 9 wines which we shared. The wines are all based on Italian grapes and some names we definitely didn't recognize. They are fairly dry and none of them are what we would call sweet. We liked them all, some better than others, but they were all tasty! And I can't say enough about how friendly and informative everyone was. It was just fun chatting with them all! We walked away with a nice stash of wine (we did pay for it!), and can't wait to go back again. Kudos!! Don't miss this one! (FYI - we have been to quite a few AZ wineries and this has been our favorite!)

Upon arriving I walked up behind a family of three. We obeyed the sign and waited outside for seating. Someone showed up with three menus and took the family. I was left standing there for another 5 minutes. The lady who came by, happened to come over but it was not to get me. She told me to sit and did not offer a menu. 2 I went to an empty table. All seats had water. I asked the waitress for a napkin so that I could dry the seats. She said, "oh I got it" and then came to wipe the seats down with a wet dish rag. I was flabbergasted. I asked for a napkin and pointed out that the rag was wet and she said we are out of napkins. I said okay maybe a dry rag?! I watched people receive food water. Some tables received multiple waters. Me....nothing. 3. After 10-12 minutes I ordered wine and tried to order tacos. It was 2:30 and apparently the food truck was closed. I ordered spinach and artichoke dip.!the plate came out beautifully but had tons of fresh cucumber and veggies. I'm allergic to cucumber. I say I'm so sorry but I'm allergic. The response, "can I just take that off?" Ummm...no. The cucumber is on top of the bread. 4. Not the views I was hoping for. 5. I just wasn't pleased. I'm not sure if it is because I was a solo diner and easy to overlook or what but this place just made a pleasant Arizona trip a little sour.

While making the reservation I made a note that our oldest son is autistic and non-verbal and his only form of communication so that staff was aware we decided to give this place a try. After spending close to $800 on food for our party we decided to exit the restaurant and that is when the problems began. As we were walking out another customer at the bar a patron at the bar decided to squeal at my son but also yell into his face. When who I assumed was her daughter realized we saw what was going on she covered her mouth and told her to stop. Being adults and understanding of others different situations we decided the best method was to approach the management team and explain the situation. I then approached a manger who was wearing a pink colored collared shirt and explained to her what happened and her response was "that hurts my heart, we do not stand for that and we will definitely do something about this." We waited outside for about 15 minutes to see what was going to be done and once we saw nothing was I went back in to speak to the general manager. This was definitely the worst part of the night. Tiana came out to speak to us and I asked her to speak on the side so that other patrons were not affected. Her response to me after explaining the situation was "since we did not see it we cannot do anything." I let her know that was an inappropriate response and that since it was a private business they could remove any patron for any reason but if they did not want to do that then she could just openly tell me that. I then gave her an example and stated "if I stab someone and you do not see it then you would not remove me?" Her response was "we definitely would," to which I stated that goes against what you just openly told me and she that there is damage from a stabbing. I then stated to her that physical damage is the same as emotional and mental damge just in a different form which she seemed to easily dismiss. She then stated that the first manager I spoke to was doing her due diligence to find out what happened and I then pointed out that that manager was actually waiting tables and we watched her do this the entire time so I was not sure when due diligence was being completed. We went around in circles, I asked her to give me the ownership information to which she stated "the owner is too famous for you to know," but eventually gave me the name which I had already searched for in my phone. At this point I openly stated that she could just tell me they were not going to do anything and that transparency would be more appreciated to which her response was "you are not currently dining in my restaurant so you need to leave my property." We did walk away but I hope that this is addressed and not pushed aside. All that to say, I hope this type of discrimination was not because we were Hispanic (the restaurant was filled with 90% Caucasian clients), because we were from out of town (from California) and mostly I hope it is not because the stance of the restaurant is not that people with disabilities matter less. I hope someone reaches out to me to address this concern and I hope no other family has to be a part of what we went through tonight. Tiana seems to be invested in the business and that is great but should also understand her customer concerns. Update to this review: Called this morning (2/17/26) and the hostess said she was not going to help me with any information, that I was a weirdo, to grow up and then hung up the phone on me.
