First time coming here while on Prescott, and I'm impressed. We didn't get any hot food, so I can't say how that was. However the cold salsas are delicious, and there is so many options of snacks and foods that you can't find in regular stores. The service was great when we had some questions, and it just has a cool vibe inside. The hot food area was packed when we went, so I can only imagine how much folks enjoyed their food. The meats in the case also looked fresh, so this place is our new favorite spot to go to. read more

Nothing fancy, only a simple efficient business that displays and shines its red, green, and white pride to its community in PV. The people are very kind greeting with smiles, making the experience warm and inviting. I decided to try the taco enchilados carne asada. Esmeralda, great smile and very helpful with my order, was one of her favorites. Folks, these tacos were a religious experience. I'm 63, had many tacos from Mexico and the southwest, totally destroyed my entire expectations of an outstanding taco.... The best I've ever had.. Every time I come to visit family I'm coming here. The food was so good and we had it the day before Thanksgiving. We ordered again on Thanksgiving night and it was delivered by Uber. The suit was quite amazing and tasty. The lines were fresh and the Asada was, OMG good. Nothing like an authentic taste of Aztec food when you are from LA California. Your food is made to order an extremely fresh. They have amazing deals on family packs if you're wanting to feed a family quickly, but don't have time to cook. My parents come here all the time and they scarfed down their food. The burritos are quite large and will last you all day depending on how you eat. I wish I had gotten more cicada tacos personally, but I guess I'll have to wait till the next trip. read more

Tried the fish tacos on a whim and I'm glad I did. Crispy on the outside, flaky inside, and not greasy at all. They came with a tangy slaw that balanced the richness perfectly. I wasn't expecting much but it totally impressed me. The cashier was super chill and even threw in an extra salsa to try. The place has a laid-back feel with a few outdoor tables that were great for people watching. Not super fancy, but the food speaks for itself. What proceeds are my "old dude" impressions: *Ambience: You have stepped into the "old country", aromas/visuals are captivating *The tamale offerings and in-house corn and flour tortilla productions are 5-star quality: home made level! *Produce presentation, better use the "fresh stuff" same day you buy it! *Mexican sweet bread (PAN DULCE) not freshly made, did not ask, likely made somewhere else - dry, maybe two days old... *meat mart: appears fresh-ish, bought some London broil, fresh enough. The butcher will ask if you want certain cuts marinated, likely a plus. *there's an outside rotisserie chicken area, did not try but it looks and smells good. Not totally sure if attached to AZTECA. *Checkout is efficient and sociable, best to confirm prices though... Overall, the fresh tamales and tortillas earn FIVE STARS. All other facets of AZTECA rate about a THREE - fresh produce and pan dulce representations need improvement. read more

It's been about a month since we visited the store. Our first time there and was not exactly what I expected. They serve food there, as well as uncooked meats, and other items. The lady at the register helped us look for our wanted items. The place is clean and open. Just wasn't what I expected. I guess I thought it was gonna be a bigger market with the dairy section and it just wasn't. We went to get carne Asada to cook, but only found cooked meat. FYI. This is our go-to place for tacos in the area! Specifically the street tacos or tacos enchillado. The enchillado tortilla is dipped and seared on the flat top. Layered with cheese, meat, lettuce, cream, and queso fresco. We usually get either carne asada or birria. Two to three tacos is plenty for a single person! The homemade tortillas are amazing also. Grabbing a bag with 10+ lasts us through the week (pretty much eat one with every meal at him)! :) Or if you're looking for something sweet, their bakery has a delicious variety of baked goods! we used to get breakfast burritos with bacon here every other weekend (sooo close to our house) but the last time we went and ordered 8 of them to go for out of town guests, they hardly had any bacon and they were half the size they used to be...everybody was extremely disappointed. now our new go-to place for bacon breakfast burritos is Alfonso's in Prescott (right next to Trader Joe's). they are full of bacon and double the size for the same price or a little less. we would rather make the drive there than have bacon burritos with almost zero bacon. sorry Carniceria...you used to be our favorite place. read more
