Elk Chop Lamb chops

This is my new favorite restaurant in Florida I got the elk chop and my wife got the lamb chops and lobster mac and cheese everything tasted delicious and the food came out fast even though they were crowded highly recommended

Great place to celebrate a birthday! Our server, Wade, was phenomenal. The food was delicious. The ambiance is romantic. This is a must try place.

This restaurant certainly lived up to the hype! Making a reservation with OpenTable was easy and HIGHLY recommended. We saw some walkins come in who were still waiting for a table when we were leaving. It's just that popular - and for good reason!! The space is huge but divided into a variety of spectacular dining rooms. We had a nice intimate room with just a few other tables nearby. It was perfect for a romantic birthday celebration. The service is magnificent! Everyone is friendly and made sure our visit was beyond compare. A special shout out to Nolan! The food is truly outstanding. The cocktails are a dream come true. I tried the lavender gin fizz and it was beautiful and refreshing. For my meal I had the lobster tails and they were perfectly prepared and paired with just the right sides. I tried my date's old fashioned and his steak and those were excellent as well. We definitely highly recommend Firefly!

Grouper special
Tony L.

I dined here two nights in a row, and had the exact same dishes. The crab cake appetizer was equally fantastic both nights. Served piping hot, it was crammed full of lump crab meat. They were somehow dense and delicate at the same time, great flavor. The grouper special, topped with crab meat and served with luxurious risotto. The grouper was cooked perfectly, tender and flaky. I sampled my wife's filet, it was served with buttery mashed potatoes and a fantastic port Demi glacé. The filet was perfectly cooked and very tender. Service on both visits was very good. I had the same server, and he was top notch both times. The atmosphere was comfortable and classy both times. On the first night I was with a group and we had a private room. Love the decorations and the sign guitars everywhere. On the second night it was just the two of us, so we sat in the main dining room, which was still very comfortable and classy. Would absolutely recommend highly, and will definitely be back on future trips to Panama City or even anywhere in the panhandle. Worth the drive.

Good ambience for our group of 6 and a nice little spot tucked away in a surprising location. Our servers were friendly and the meal itself was delicious. This restaurant is great for a celebration of any kind and I can absolutely see it being a great date night spot!

Crème brûlée

Tremendous food with even better service. To notch restaurant. You can't go wrong! Steaks were cooked to perfection. Lobster tail was also cooked perfectly. Didn't even need the butter...she crab soup was the best I've had. Crème brûlée was perfect and quite the show.

I really enjoyed getting to try this place. I had never heard of it before when my wife suggested it, despite our many trips to Panama City over the years. It was a pleasant surprise, and I hope we get to come back - though I would not bring the kids here. The food itself was great. I really loved the garlic butter the bread came with - and my wife could tell, lol. I got the steak and it was so big, we both enjoyed it the next day as well. The staff were friendly and personable, but our waiter was a little busy that night. I don't know if they were short-staffed or what the issue was. I would definitely come here again.

Half Chicken

We went here for our Anniversary a couple days ago. The food was great. I ordered the half chicken; taste amazing. It also came with this great bread that had whipped like topping that was sweet. The service was good. Ambiance was amazing. The lights were deemed while music was playing in the background. Everyone who reads this comment must go

Tree in dining room

The tree in the dining room is really pretty. Would make the perfect spot for a rehearsal dinner or other event. Sushi was very good. Waitress was attentive.

The restaurant is a nice decent size. It was busy and we called and made reservations, since online was busy. Parking was in a shopping center. Each to find. We ordered steak. 1 peppercorn steak which is stuff. Its there top saler but 1 person in our table ordered 30 oz Ribeye and that honestly tasted much better. 1 person order center cut steak with a peppercorns and we got it voided cause it was overly peppered and salted that it did not taste good at all and order it medium rare and it was definitely well done. Another ordered shrimp pasta dish and another ordered a lobster dish. They have a waitress and subwaiter ( not sure what its technically called) that help the waiter/waitresses in between. Honest it was decent but definitely go with the Ribeye in my opinion it tasted much better. Kyla was out waitress and she was nice and chill. Very professional. We all thought it was decent food except the center cut pepper crusted.

Very kind servers that accommodated 15 people. Food took quite a while but was worth it. Drinks were amazing and not too pricey. Blueberry lemon sangria was to die for.

Superb service!! Absolutely excellent service which is so rare these days. Overall the food was delicious and I would definitely come back.

Can't remember what this was. Had tuna, bacon, avocado, jalapeño.

This place was off the chain. Most likely one of the best place in Panama City. Wife and I went and really enjoyed it. She had the honey glazed salmon over coconut rice with miso soup. She suggest getting the miso on the side. I had the steak with mushroom risotto and green beans. It was amazing. Their creme brutal was really good also. 5 stars indeed.

Is there a dress code ? Is men wearing shorts okay?

I have seen a variety of attire & I would consider it an upscale establishment. My husband and I always dress up for fun.

Good for kids?

Yes. I saw several people with children. They were mostly tweens and teens. Look at menu. Not sure they have a children's menu for small children.

I don't see a white wine menu?

They have an extensive wine selection. I'm sure you'll find something that you'll love.

When will you reopen?

They are closed Monday, but open again tomorrow.

Resort casual is fine! Just no tank tops, board shirts or bikinis.

Are there gluten free options? For someone with celiac's disease?

Yes! We have several. You can view them on our website. Please make your server aware of the celiac disease. Many just what GF options for their diet, but we want to know to take extra precautions if you have celiacs.

Do you have to have reservations?

We always recommend them!

What is the corkage fee?

$20

Do you have a bar?

Yes! With one of the finest selections of bourbons and whiskeys around!

Does this restaurant still offer the Sunset Special that is shown in the photos?

Yes Cristina, we have a winter special running between 5:00 and 6:00 nightly.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth. The woman hosting the tastings--who I believe was the owner--was incredibly kind and welcoming. She was finishing up with another couple when we arrived, but it didn't take long before we were swept into an experience that was personal, engaging, and delicious. Shortly after, another couple came in, and let me just say--this woman knows how to multitask. She managed all of us effortlessly, while still sharing expert knowledge about every single wine we tasted. I don't think there was a single wine I didn't like (which never happens). As others have mentioned, they offer free tastings of four wines per person, plus a complimentary frozen wine slushie--and yes, it's as good as it sounds. With two of us, we got to sample nearly the entire menu, and I know the ones we missed would have been just as tantalizing. This wasn't just a stop--it was an experience. If (or honestly, when) I find myself back in Panama City, this will be the first place I revisit. Highly recommend!

It's like drinking juice. If you're looking for an experience to try Florida flavors, I highly recommend! Their slushy flavors are crazy. Didn't even know you could make wine taste that sweet! I'm walking out with a few bottles. Afterwards, we sat and play some cute bar games, while sipping our wines.

Boy, they didn't disappoint and were on it in all phases tonight. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a cheerful staff. They asked where we wanted to sit and then one of the hostesses took us to our seats. From there Bri took over!!! She was very polite and knowledgeable of the menu. She told us about the specials and also items she recommended. We had the calamari to start. It was light, crispy and paired great with the two dipping sauces that accompanied it. Then we had the dinner special which was the blackened redfish in a delicious tomato sauce and the Parmesan flounder. We also had the mashed potatoes, red beans and rice and hushpuppies. Everything was delicious! The fish was cooked to perfection and the sauces on both dishes were amazing. The red beans and rice were way better than anything in New Orleans. It was flavorful and had plenty of sausage to put everything together. The mashed potatoes were very good also. If I had to say something needed a little help, I would say add just a little butter to those potatoes and they will be even better. We had dessert to go and I had the dream pie. I can't say enough about this pie. Bri told me I would love it and she was correct. It is definitely a must on my next visit. It was savory and creamy at the same time. If you're in the area, please put this restaurant on your list. You won't be disappointed. Ask for Bri!! She is amazing and also the young ladies at the front were the best group of hostesses that I've seen in a long time. Oh, the live music and as also great.

Incredible service, felicitous staff from hostesses to bussers to waiters (Tommy) to the manager and the managing partner (Mississippian Jason Burgardt)--who waited tables at Walker's Drive-in, then managed Flight in Memphis; we even had people in common. Overall the level of service here is outstanding. Seating is comfortable and spacious. Glassware is tasteful. Immediate service was provided when appropriate. We enjoyed the Angel Eggs: Crispy shrimp, farm eggs & bacon marmalade. A 1/2 Caesar salad and a wedge, and for entrees we both had a Taste of 30A: Grouper, Red Snapper and Crab-stuffed Flounder with accouterments that corresponded with the full-size entrees. Each fresh fish dish was flawlessly presented, with fish perfectly flaky and executed and the subtle-yet-distinct flavors melding into an absolute gestalt of goodness! Loved the touch of the micro greens. A most enjoyable, tasty dining experience! Highly recommend if on or near 30A! Worth the drive!!! Also, we peeked in the bar that has a happy hour from 3-6! Had a warm speak-easy feel! You can dine there as well. We were told the locals enjoy this unique spot and I can see why. In addition, there is outdoor seating with soft overhead hanging lights. A side dining room can be closed off for a private dining experience, with seating in that room for up to 40. Lots of options for special events in this space for table seating as well as menus. Even though our reservation was for 4:30pm, by the time we departed the restaurant at 6:15, the place was filled with diners yet still the atmosphere was not hectic or loud. Somehow they maintain that serene but not too stiff environment. I'd say, it was very clear to me that all the staff here is dedicated to serving others and to excellence. When you pair that with a gifted chef, sous chef, and focused kitchen staff who are dedicated, you get a 5-star restaurant. Pair all of that with a caring and professional Managing Partner, and you have a special place to dine. Ambrosia Prime Seafood and Beef is a 5-star gem restaurant in the 30A area.
