I have tried Firefly 2 times now and it has been consistently good. We visited the beach this past spring and had a great experience and couldn't wait to come back. My daughter couldn't wait to get her kid's sirloin dinner lol we also ordered the kids Mac and Cheese and omg it was amazing. My favorite is the smoked half chicken and gulf fried shrimp. This place is highly over rated. It's unfortunate because they do such a great job advertising. First, it's freezing on the inside of the restaurant. Be prepared for that. Second the food was ok. My elk was really undercooked, it was almost raw. The grouper was good and the fish appetizer was ok. I would not recommend or go back to this restaurant. We were pretty upset because we don't get to go out for dinner that often because we have a two year old. It was a wasted restaurant outing. At least we know for next time. read more

We came here while on vacation for our 3 year anniversary and it was incredible!! One of the best places we ate all week. The food was sooo good the only thing we weren't huge fans of were the crab cakes. Service was incredible we never wanted for anything and so kind. I would've done a 5/5 but the place itself is kind of run down especially for what you're paying for dinner. I'm used to fine dining. I pay $500+ for upscale dining experiences and this is not it. The ambiance is a mixture of sports bar and sort-of fine dining. My favorite restaurants to frequent are Truluck's, Eddie V's and Fleming's on a regular. I had high expectations after viewing the reviews and the location being right off the coast, so this was a definite let down. I ordered the lobster tails and they were under seasoned and basically had gone bad. They had a soft, mushy consistency and I couldn't stomach it. My husband had the scallops and they had an ammonia smell and taste to them . He literally had to spit it out and asked for the manager. If you come to this restaurant, avoid the seafood at all costs. Order their appetizers and nibble on their bread. The strawberry lime butter was ok. All were excellent and food alone rate a 5. There were three negatives that lowered the overall rating to a 4 - both the hostesses and our server greeted us with "you guys" and I considering the rude and insulting...ok for a sports bar, but not for a restaurant in the category of fine dining. I got the diver scallops, which were good but had 2 less scallops than every picture posted previously... so I feel like I got cheated a little. The sushi was fantastic. Our service was great too. I had asked for a birthday dessert for my friend and we didn't pick a dessert, but a crème brûlée was brought out with "Happy Birthday " on it and it was honestly one of the best I've had and I normally do it like the custard of most crème brûlée. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary this evening with our first visit to FireFly. We got to see something that I hadn't read about in any review. We arrived before they opened the doors at 5:00, so we were among the first to walk in the front door. All of the staff were lined up to greet the first guests and it was impressive! We were briefly ushered into the library to wait comfortably for our table, and a group of about 6 staff parted like the waters, and while all this doesn't address the delightful food, it does go along with an excellent attitude of hospitality and attentiveness. We enjoyed the yummy bread with 3 different toppings, the packed-with-meat crab cakes, the totally delectable scallops, and the different but delicious pepper crusted filet mignon. All were wonderful, and our server, Wade, did a great job...very friendly and attentive! We took our desserts to go, the Dulce de Leche cheesecake and the creme brûlée. We had a 7:30pm seating the night before Valentine's Day for 25 people, which we booked more than a month in advance. They had 1 server and 2 helpers who only filled water. It took over an hour to get a drink. We didn't start being served food until after 9pm, after we complained and even though we pre- ordered!! We were spending over $100 each for a gourmet meal! I ordered that and asked the server if I could get an avocado and cream cheese roll since their menu was limited for vegetarians. He acted annoyed said they don't really do custom rolls but that he'd try to make it happen. Cool thanks. Well, when my order came out everything was entirely wrong. Stuffed with bacon, spinach, and feta, and served over a flavorful roasted red pepper, caramelized onion, and potato hash with a rich garlic cream and red wine reduction, this steak is so tender it feels like butter melting in your mouth. It's easily the best filet I've ever had. I also never thought I'd enjoy Escargot, but Firefly's preparation completely changed my mind. Baked with parsley garlic butter, a parmesan crumble, and served with grilled sourdough, it's indulgent and absolutely delicious. Last year, my friends and I visited and were seated all the way in the back of the restaurant. Despite that, my husband and I returned this year because we enjoyed it so much. Unfortunately, we were once again placed in the worst spot--right beside the kitchen. It left me feeling as though people like me are only meant to be seated in the back. I had a reservation the restaurant was empty. On top of that, the food was nowhere near the standard of last year's visit. I had really been looking forward to this meal, especially after such a difficult year, but the experience was deeply disappointing. Sadly, I no longer have the desire to return to this restaurant, and my husband and I will be dining elsewhere in the future. Our server, Phumlani, greeted us with a smile and answered all our questions. Her service, and that of all of her coworkers who helped service our table, were efficient and friendly. We ordered the escargot as an appetizer which was fantastic. Our meals of salmon (me) and grouper (husband) were very delicious as well. As usual, we had to order dessert.
