So hungry
Jennifer S.

We had a group of 13 in our group for 630. Table was waiting when we arrived. There was only one waiter. For the whole place. She held it down though! The staff was great. The food was good. I had Mahi with coconut the ice and brocolini The mahi was over cooked a little but the favor was there. I loved the rice. Hubs had the rissito and clam chowder. He did not like the chowder. Rissota was fabulous he said. Every meal was enjoyed and no boxes were needed and nothing left on plates. Drinks were good too!

Our first night of vacation and we decided to eat out. Found this place just down from our condo which was bustling but not crowded and there was no wait to get seated. Immediately the wonderful smell greets you as you open the door and we were taken straight to our table. Nice decor inside and lots of televisions if you want to watch the game too.

Crème Brûlée

Food was great, service was spot on! A new favorite restaurant! The Conch Bites were delicious! The Boom Boom Shrimp was also very good. Crème Brûlée for dessert was the cherry on top!! Will definitely be back!

Came in for a Wednesday dinner with my husband and everything was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and accommodating! The bartender made excellent drinks, I had a mojito and my husband had a delicious lemon drop martini. The fried shrimp was cooked to perfection and the blackened Mahi was worth getting again! We highly recommend

The ambiance of this amazing restaurant outside is pretty plain, but the inside is family friendly! I loved all theme and decorations inside. It is clean! We were greeted right away. Travis was our server and he was awesome! He took care if and he went above and beyond when we told him it was our daughter's birthday! This is a MUST stop by when you come through this area! Now the food! Wow!!!!! We have been to some of the most expensive restaurants just because we are foodies and wow! The food is absolutely A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! We got the calamari as an appetizer! It was delicious! For dinner we had the Grilled Mahi and the Grilled Snapper with the coconut rice and wow those sauces with it was DELICIOUS! My babies got the chicken fingers and the grilled chicken and those chicken fingers were delicious! Wow! Everything was well seasoned! I hope that they keep everything the way it is because it was amazing! We will definitely come back when we come back to this area! Shout out tot the chef and the servers and managers! Great team!

Food was incredible. Every single item we ordered was cooked to absolute perfection. Service here was excellent. We had the sweetest server . Whoever the cook was working on this particular night is doing an awesome job. (Thursday June 26th 2025 around 7:30 pm). This restaurant was so clean also . Had booth and table seating . Had a bar and nice lighting inside . We would definitely return here .

It was founded by Derek and Tiffany Langford, and Derek has since grown the operation further, adding a butcher shop and market right behind the restaurant. The concept sets itself apart from the typical beach-town raw bar by leaning into upscale farm-to-table cooking with a genuinely global menu, rather than sticking to the standard fried seafood and oyster shooter formula you find up and down Front Beach Road. I didn't come across a specific named industry award tied to this location -- the closest thing to a trophy in the building is a fishnet leg lamp perched over the bar, a nod to A Christmas Story. The food backs up that more ambitious approach. The wagyu carpaccio was an excellent way to start the meal, sliced thin and well seasoned without overwhelming the quality of the beef. The snapper ceviche followed, bright, citrusy, and clearly built around fresh local Gulf seafood rather than something pulled out of a walk-in. From there, the lamb ribs were the highlight of the night -- tender, well seasoned, and not something you typically find on a beach-town menu, which made it stand out even more. A Red Stag on the side paired well with the richer dishes without competing with them. Dessert closed things out with the crème brûlée cheesecake, a smart mashup of two classic desserts that somehow works better together than either does alone -- crisp caramelized top, dense creamy filling. Between the creative menu, the quality of execution across every course, and the fact that it's carving out its own identity rather than blending into the rest of the beach strip, Hunt & Gather is one of the better dinners you can find in Panama City Beach right now.

After a so-called "fine dining" restaurant completely failed to accommodate our party (with reservations), Hunt & Gather stepped in without hesitation and made our evening unforgettable. Our table ordered a little bit of everything, and every dish was outstanding -- elk burgers, baked fish, bolognese, filet mignon, and the quail quesadillas were all incredible. The lamb lollipops remain my absolute favorite, and the flash-fried Brussels sprouts were perfection. We also sampled all of the desserts, and not a single one missed the mark. Their beer and wine selection is fantastic as well, and the blackberry cider was especially delicious. A huge shoutout to our server, Paul, who was warm, attentive, and incredibly efficient. He seemed to anticipate what we needed before we even had to ask. If you're looking for consistently amazing food, excellent service, and a restaurant that truly knows how to take care of its guests, do yourself a favor and visit Hunt & Gather. Your palate will thank you.

The first thing I noticed is that they scaled the menu back which was a blessing. I remember before that you had to read a book to get through the menu before. The new menu has a great variety of items and I didn't miss anything that they might have had before. The restaurant itself is fun. Lots of memorabilia on the walls but not in a claustrophobic way. Tables are nice and clean and the bar is beautiful. Everyone looked like they were having a good time. Our food server was nice, friendly and talked to us like we were regulars (loved that). We started out with drinks and we had the Sangria, and a couple of their signature cocktails that I can't remember the names. All were very refreshing. Food: We started out with quite a few appetizers: Coconut Shrimp: Great big shrimps, coating was perfect but I would use a tad more coconut (IMO). Tuna Dip: Wonderful smokey flavor and tasted really fresh and came with homemade chips. Pimento Dip: Oh my gosh it was delicious. I didn't even want to try this one but one of the people in our party likes pimento, so we did. It was sooooo good. I found out it has 4 different cheeses in it and it also comes with the homemade chips. Onion Rings: These onion rings were in the perfect batter. They were not greasy but they were crunchy and they used great tasting onions. I remember the previous onion rings being so thick and greasy I was so happy with the new version. We also had the Spinach Artichoke Dip and once again it was very tasty. Entrees: Pot Roast: So delicious!!! Tender pot roast and it came on a bed of mashed potatoes and cooked carrots and onions and I think celery. The gravy was delicious and they gave you plenty of it. Steak: It was a pretty big steak and very tender. Hubs gave it a 4 out of a 5. Baked potato was loaded and could have fed a family of 4. Catfish Basket: I had never had catfish before and I nibbled on our friend's entree and it was really really good. I give this place a 5 out of a 5 and we WILL be back.

We also tried the jalapeño poppers, Caesar salads, macaroni and cheese, loaded french fries, baked potato, Brussels sprouts, and grits--everything was fantastic. Definitely try the grits! They're like a deep-fried bowl of grits sitting on a bed of smoked Gouda cheese. Honestly, the best grits I've ever had. Highly recommend! The only thing I would say they need to have a different dipping sauce for their jalapeño poppers. They need to have like a jelly or some type of like sweet dip. The ranch didn't cut it.

The restaurant expanded its entrance and lobby in 1980 and added the "East Pit" in the 1990s. It's now considered the oldest continuously operating restaurant in Bay County, still run by the Butchikas family. It holds a Tripadvisor Travelers' Choice award and an Experts' Choice award, placing it in the top 1% of Panama City Beach restaurants. The menu covers the classics well: ribs with their house BBQ sauce, ribeye grilled over hickory, and a Greek salad that's a nice contrast to all the smoked meat. Hurricanes are a good pick from the bar to go with dinner. For dessert, apple pie with cheese is a nice old-school touch that fits the restaurant's throwback character.
