4.5 stars hands down! I needed a complete house upgrade to copper wiring and knew it was going to be a large long project. I did a lot of research and I narrowed it down to three companies. I contacted Firefly and two others on Thanksgiving as a small electrical fire started and Ryan at Firefly was very professional even though I reached out on a Holiday. I recieved the different bids and Ryan came in much lower offering the same services. He didn't gouge me like the others. Ryans lead electrician Diante was fantastic and stayed late on various occasions to ensure things were completed even if it could of waited the following day. I highly recommend Ryan and I am a pretty picky person as the job was completed without any major hurdles. The half star was removed from a 5 star as one of the electricians had to be reminded to shut my front door and gate a few times as well as some uneven and not necessary cuts in the walls, but as soon as Ryan was informed he made sure that little glitch was handled. If you are looking for top notch work, Firefly is the ONLY company to use! Another plus was he didnt nickel and dime me, if something extra needed to be done that arisen they took care of it without adjusting the initial bid, now thats a outstanding company who goes above and beyond. FireFly Electric provided a free estimate and did work on our electrical box. However, he left the wall to my house aesthetically unpleasant and drove a nail through the drywall right into our childs bedroom. Our lights now flicker periodically and turn off. When I asked Ryan why he left my stucko a mess, he said, "It's not part of our job to fix it. You have to get someone else to do it." He made the mess, tore off the original electric box, removed a good portion of the masonary stucko and then tells me, it is not his problem. Wait til you see the pictures. He also left many of the parts, bits and pieces of the stucko, wires, screws, and other objects laying all over the ground for us to pick up and clean after him and his crew. I still have not had the time or money to fix it myself. So, during the last rain storm a few months ago, water came in through those wonderful holes that Ryan left for us to fix ourselves. I had contacted a few companies for installing 3 fans in my condo and Ryan was very quick to respond and was very competitive in price. He was very professional and responsive through the whole process. When he started the project he realized it was going to be much more difficult than originally anticipated because of the layout of beams within the ceiling. He figured it out and got the job done. Had a big problem when my pool sanitation system stopped working. The breaker tripped and could not be reset. Ryan identified this problem and another potential issue very quickly. I was looking to have a chandelier removed from the ceiling and have a ceiling fan installed in the center of the room. I checked out a few electrician businesses in my city and saw that I had the ability to send out a quote request to several businesses at the same time via Yelp. I sent the quote request to 11 different businesses on a Saturday afternoon and immediately got 7 responses within the hour. The owner, Ryan, from Firefly Electric was extremely prompt with a response and his quote was nearly the best I received that did not include needing time to schedule a free estimate to come take a look or a fee to come out and check the job out first. He was also available Monday morning at 6:30am so I decided to go with Firefly Electric. Ryan came right on time and texted us when he got there per my request not to wake baby with the doorbell and got to work. The job took a little over two hours, but that was because the fan was brand new still in the box. I realized after the fact that I should have opened the box and at least assembled the fan, but I didn't have the tools or know how to put it together safely, but Ryan was really nice and put it all together for me. He could have easily said he didn't have the right cover for the hole where the chandelier was and left it at that but he went to Home Depot to grab a different cover plate to cover the chandelier hole. He was very nice and did a great job. He put out a large sheet to cover our floors so that the mess wouldn't get everywhere. Ryan was quick to come out and able to install my outlet for a low profile microwave on the same day as well as a separate one in the living room so that we could mount the tv on the wall for a pretty reasonable price. Upon, his adding the breaker for it, he discovered that the breakers were not right in the box and needed to be replaced as well as the entire box which had clearly had fire damage. He looked at a few of the breakers and said he wasn't sure how they were even working nor how long they would last in this condition and offered to check into a used new-ish breaker box for a replacement (to try to cut costs since we recently purchased the home). That meant a lot, especially since we did not anticipate this type of expense and had $$$$ tied up on other project/needs. Unfortunately, when he put one of the breakers back it must have been loose so later the AC stopped working ... I texted him around 9:30pm and he was quick to reapond and showed up in about a half hour to rectify the problem. Great customer service. He was unable to find a used box that would work for us but offered to give ua a diacount if we got everything set up with the city sonce he just started his biz and is a one-man show ... which was no problem. The quality of work is excellent, no cutting corners. I definitely appreciated the help with getting my outlet to code. The project did take a little longer than anticipated and ended up costing $350 more than the initial quote (plus an additional $150 for drywall repair).
