Need a licensed electrician and prefer one doing the work or is on-site who is actually licensed and not someone working under a company license? Douglas Wright Electric is the company to call. Douglas is honest, budget (your budget) minded so he is fair, and his is fully licensed and bonded in Arizona from California; so you know that he knows what he is doing. Douglas knows code and is very professional. Douglas generally works with 1-2 helpers, one of which is extremely knowledgable and trustworthy as he is on his way towards a license of his own. You can fully trust him should Douglas need to slip away for a short time. The other is in the process of learning under two very good and knowledgeable mentors. Douglas Wright Electric, recently installed a garage sub-panel and both 115V and 230V 20A ceiling twist-lock receptacles dedicated to my woodworking machinery. All work was fully permitted and inspected by the city, Douglas Wright Electric is now finishing up the electrical for a Mini-Split (HVAC) system for my garage so I can work comfortably during the summer; I have a licensed HVAC guy installing the actual Mini-split unit. But after that is done, I already have Douglas Wright Electric slated for some inside the house electrical re-wiring work to fix a screw-up by the original home builder. I now can't imagine calling anyone else now than Douglas Wright Electric. Professional, knowledgeable, fair, and a great guy as are his helpers. And they won't leave a mess. Integrety defines their buisiness and work. Don't mess around with a company who will send someone out to your home from a pool of non-licensed, questionably trained/knowledgable who are working under someone else's license while calling themselves an electrician. You likely will be getting someone at an apprentice or at best journeyman level (which Arizona does not recognize) without supervision by a fully licensed electrician who may never even stop by the check their work. read more

Doug and his team are my go-to electricians, without question. I've worked with them on multiple projects, ranging from updating a house built in the 1950s to mounting TVs and fans in bedrooms. More than that, Doug has been a helpful voice of wisdom whenever I've had urgent questions. As someone who's hesitant about messing with electricity, these guys offer peace of mind at a price point I've never wanted to beat. The biggest project we've worked on together was my mother-in-law's home - a house built in 1959 situated in Mesa. We bought it knowing it would need some work. Doug came over and gave me a full rundown of options. For a large project like that one, I really appreciated their approach. They show up with a full team and bill by the hour while they knock out as much as possible. I've been impressed by how much they accomplish and how thoughtfully they consider things from the end-user perspective. On a smaller scale, the team has helped with installing new fans and updating switches and outlets at my primary residence. This has often proven helpful because they handle things that would probably jam me up for hours of troubleshooting. Overall, I highly recommend them for your next project! read more

I spoke with Douglas about an outlet issue we were having, and he knew right away what was going on. We spoke on the phone and scheduled, and he was able to fix the issue quickly! He charged a reasonable fee for a service call. We will definitely use him again for future electrical needs. Highly recommend! read more

Doug showed up solo and handled everything perfectly--super knowledgeable, professional, fair price, no upselling. Added a 50amp EV charger like a pro and explained it all clearly. Highly recommend read more

Quick response, fast reliable service. Great guy easy to talk to. Explains everything.

So wow - Douglas is awesome! We had an unfortunate event at our home in Mesa and found Douglas on Yelp. It occurred on Saturday morning and by 11am all the worry was in the rear view with us understanding what the issues had been and having great confidence that everything was fixed and right. And by someone who was: Professional Expert Responsive Thoughtful Not an up seller (like at all!) This is the exact person we were looking for and feel lucky to have found him. So grateful for Douglas! read more

Installed kitchen led lights with challenging install with foam insulation in the walls and backsplash installed. Project turned out incredible! Followed through with his quote, installation was great and quality of led lights was very good! Price was in ballpark of what would expect. Prompt response for quote and install. Douglas is prompt and is spot on with his estimates. Very innovative when compared to others. Managed to do the work without cutting into the dry wall when other electricians said it was required. He understands the work to be done and recommends the right way to do it. His insights are very valuable. This is the second time I have hired him and won't be the last. read more

I recently hired Doug to find a short within one of my outlets. Because of the urgency (neither one of our bathroom's outlets were working & we had out of state guests arriving on Monday). He arrived within his time frame on Sunday and within a few minutes he figured out what the issue was and had everything operational in short order. He's very fair with his pricing, professional and very personably. I just recommended him to one of my friends and highly recommend him to anyone. read more

We had placed a request for a quote and several responded but Douglas Wright Electric was the best estimate. Douglas and crew arrived promptly on time. Friendly service. But Douglas just seems like a good, honest, hardworking guy. We appreciate that. We are very happy with how quickly they switched out our old bathroom lighting fixtures to the new ones. Definitely will use them for any future electrical jobs we may have. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

Reliable, responsive, honest, and hardworking!! I started a project on Yelp to get quotes to have my outlets, switches, and some light fixtures in my house replaced. Within seconds, I receive a message from Douglas that was personalized, and told me to call him. We talked right then (late Wednesday night) and he gave me a rate for each item, and said he had an opening tomorrow (today)! Tristan and Jesus showed up promptly when Douglas said! They were friendly, extremely hardworking, courteous, and honest. They were here all day working on everything, and even by the end, they were even still smiling! They cleaned everything up beautifully, and I couldn't be happier. I can't say enough great things about Douglas and his team. Thank you for being a company that we can count on, trust, and be extremely happy with the end result! If you are looking for an electrician, call them today! You won't regret it! read more

In all fairness....(it's been 3 days) he said he was going to call to assure I was home to give me a quote on my job. Twice I called him but as of yet he hasn't called or done what he said. I fear this is wasted effort! Good luck. read more

First time using Douglas electric. What a great guy! I needed a service done that was a little off the grid. He was the only one willing to help me with what I needed! Other electric companies either ignored me or wouldn't help me, but he did ! Douglas is kind beyond measure, and very professional and knowledgeable, it was a great experience, and he took care of what I needed, which gave me great peace of mind! He will be the first one I call for future needs! I will highly recommend him to everyone I know! Thanks again, Douglas, I finally had a good nights sleep last night, lol. read more

We had a great experience with Doug. We're renovating our house so we had quite a few lights to hang. We had 17 lights in total that were being upgraded and a few had to be moved or re-centered. Doug and his team got it all done within a handful of hours. He and his team were friendly and knowledgeable. His prices were fair too. I would definitely recommend Doug for any of you electrical projects. read more

We need more folks like Douglas in the world. I submitted a a form for a quote to diagnose my range hood. The fan was working but not the bulbs. He responded immediately with a couple of suggestions to troubleshoot myself. He said that he was more than happy to come check it out the following day if I wasn't able to fix it myself. Well, guess what....I fixed it myself with his help. He is knowledgeable, kind and honest. I will tell you that if I do have a future electrical issue, Douglas will be the first electrician I call. Thank you, Douglas! read more

I had a GFI outlet go out in my garage on a Saturday and needed it replaced because of my freezer. Doug said he could come first thing Sunday and take care of it. Before hiring Douglas Wright Electric to install an electric car charging station, I received quotes from multiple electricians. Of the vendors, Douglas Wright offered the best value. When I first put in my request in Yelp, Douglas answered in about 10 minutes. We set up an appointment. Douglas was here at our home on time. He is very personable and knowledgeable. I had already had another company here looking at what I wanted to do. I was told by the other company that the antique chandelier that I bought couldn't be hung. Douglas took one look at it and said that is crazy that all it needed was to change out the box that goes against the ceiling. Both my husband and myself felt really comfortable talking with him. When we got his quote to hang the chandelier, change out a light to a light with a ceiling fan, hang two kitchen chandeliers, and create and hang a ceiling fan with a light outdoors we couldn't believe it. It was about $1400 cheaper than the first quote from the other company. Douglas and Peter showed up today to do all the work except for the kitchen lights which have not arrived yet from the factory where I bought them. They showed up on time and were finished in a very timely manner. The work they did was done very professionally and I am very very happy with the way everything looks. They even cleaned the floor. Would I hire them again? In a minute. They were so great and I am very hard to please!!!!!!!. Thank you guys see you in the middle of the month when my kitchen lights arrive. read more

Top notch service! I have not been very successful in using Yelp to get quotes. Sometimes you get a quick response, other times it takes forever or never. One place called me a week later to ask if I still needed work. Whoever is staying engaged with requests for quotes here was on it! We were corresponding late into the evening to get an appt and work scheduled. The work was top notch and overall excellent customer service! I will use them again for anything electrical related in the future. Keep up the good work, this is how you run a business! read more

Truly impressed with the business approach and integrity of Douglas Wright Electric. In soliciting my electric issue with multiple businesses via Yelp Chat, Douglas Wright provided me some troubleshooting to try before having to request (and pay) for a consultation and repair fee. Their recommendation was spot on and I was able to repair the issue on my own, without the need for additional service. I have saved this business to be my first choice when contacting an electrician and I appreciate them tremendously. read more

I cannot more highly recommend this company. I just called as half my house lost electricity due, apparently, to my using a space heater. Mr. Wright could not come out, but walked me through resetting the fuses, step by step, which completely fixed the problem, He then refused to accept any remuneration. The least I can do is leave a review and let you all know that in a world at times lacking compassion, integrity and competence, Mr. Wright excels at all three. DWE is now my go to electric company. read more

Great small business. Had a small problem at the office I work at that required an electrician to fix a GFI. Called the previous electrician we had used and he said his next opening was 3 weeks out! I knew it was a simple problem so I found Douglas on Yelp and he said he could be out in 2 hrs! He text 30min before and arrived literally 2hrs almost on the dot. He quickly and professionally diagnosed the problem and fixed it! Great job and he even took a picture to show me the problem afterwards so I could understand what caused it! Got a couple business cards and will definitely be calling him next time we are in need of an electrician. Thanks! read more

On October 1, Douglas came to move some wiring in our house previous to the installation of a new oven unit. I selected him because I thought if a man puts his name on his business, he must be reputable. On October 18, the oven unit that Douglas had wired quit functioning. I decided to call an electrician with many years of experience in the area. The electrician came today, October 20, and found the wiring Douglas did had been done improperly. There were exposed wires in the junction box and the unit had shorted out because there were only two strands of wire that led to the unit. Those wires were completely exposed. I watched as the electricians removed the wiring from where Douglas had installed them. I thought Douglas' fee of $350 was high, but I assumed the work would be done well. It wasn't. Obviously, I will not be using Douglas again and do not recommend him. read more
