After he came and did the assessment, we came up with a plan to do what we thought were the fastest ROI. We changed all of our ducts to R-8, extended the plenums, increase the insulation level to R-30 and filled up all the voids and air leaks, added a return and put more efficient grills. At the end, our electric bill went down, the rooms were more comfortable and temperature equalized. Jason is really meticulous and really knows its stuff. I would recommend him for new or old constructions. Yes, you read that right, he can tell you if the builder did the right things for your AC or if he took shortcuts which may lead to issues to you as soon as your system is out of warranty. I was resigned to getting a response in the morning until lo and behold my phone rang with caller ID showing Ideal Air Conditioning. It was 9pm. I couldn't believe it! The service person got to my condo around 9:30 just before I had to head to work so I left my credit card info with her and entrusted my roommate to oversee the repairs. By 11am I got a call at work informing me that the AC was up and running again with the repair costing me just over $1500, which included a $300 service plan that I thought made sense and was a good idea for continued maintenance. Next I requested a bid for fixing the horrible temperature variance from room to room and fixing interior doors from slamming shit when the a/c turned on. I hired this company to add and additional hvac ducts, add jumper ventilation returns into bedrooms (there were none in any of the 3 bedrooms when I bought the house. Also did duct cleaning and sealing. The efficiency performance of my a/c skyrocketed, my energy bills went way down , and they fixed the terrible air pressure causing doors to slam shut from only 1 previous air return for the whole house. Not only were they professional, timely, qualified and...nice, but the whole crew was meticulous and focused from start to finish. I found this team to be competent, professional, and ethical. When the failing pieces were removed, not replaced, there was evidence of fire, on my roof, by their product. When I asked about the warranty, I was texted a phone number, not even a company name and told I could try if I wanted. The new solar panels I was purchasing to replace the fire damaged (from the solar power system) were clearly used. Previous mounting marks, dust and bird droppings. Once we had set up our estimate, John had come out with an energy efficiency specialist and they did an entire walk through of our home and attic. My husband has knowledge of air conditioning systems and is aware what good and bad will look like due to the air conditioner, air ducts and the insulation. He was extremely pleased with the honesty and truth from John and the energy efficiency specialist as they showed us pictures and explained what was being seen throughout our home. It took a few weeks for the estimate to be completed, we then scheduled an appointment with John to go over the estimate and the different options available to us so that we were able to bring our home more efficient. John went over in full detail of all that was seen and also enlightened us on some things we could do ourselves to along with the different things that they suggest we do to help our home. The cost was a bit more than we expected but after going over all the different options, we chose what we wanted to do and made an appointment. Surprisingly they were able to come out and start about 2 weeks later. On Tuesday, a man showed up to walk through our home and to take measurements so that they were able to get the materials. The following day there must have been a communication error due to the crew showed up an hour late however they worked hard and were able to finish our home a day early (they were scheduled to work Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and the following Monday but all was finished by Friday). Josh was the crew leader at our home, he was extremely nice and actually the entire crew were very nice and respectful. Due to being up in the attic there was some debris that came through the vents, which I expected but what I did not expect was that the guys cleaned up the small messes.
